if you don't wish to watch the full first season, you can just watch a recap to understand the gist of it. You need to have a proper understanding of a few characters from the last season to better understand this season or you would get confused.

not exactly cheating, but like Da Mi's birth mom gave birth to her but her husband refused to take responsibility of the child and abandoned her. Then the grandfather had a gf who solely got with him for money and inheritance. This is somewhat related to cheating but not exactly in the sense that any character gets into an affair or extra marital or something. Hope you get my point

The grandfather had a great character development, although he was killed off listing the first *murder* of 7 escape followed by 2 more in the same episode but it was done by some other person. Alrighttttt! Grandfather got brains, ensured that his money doesn't goes into the hands of those evils. Oops, I forgot to add, 4th murder, not exactly murder, death maybe? Da Mi's adaptive mom. But she really was stupid and dumb. Like you found out about Han Mone only to go and confront her and get yourself in more trouble, like one should never make moves rashly. Knowing where she is coming from, everything is completely new to her so kinda understandable. The character at the end, if the speculations about Da Mi's adoptive father doing plastic surgery is true then Mathew Lee is yet to arrive and the person might be "K"? As long as grandfather's money goes in safe hands, or not to ra hee or the gyn, people here might still be rest assured to some point. Da Mi for no absolute reason lost her adoptive mother, her father going through something he couldn't have imagined in his nightmare, and her grandfather too. She was living so peacefully! Anyways revenge arc might start from episode 5, as per the preview. Do Hyuk is poor, and gets betrayed easily, as long as anything involves his mom and brother. Since both have been killed, he has no weakness for the villains to hit him on. Wishing for him to pull himself together and make a proper comeback, he might even help Da Mi at some point. This show is doing good except plot holes here and there (few)

well, the adoptive dad has got his face completely scarred and bloody kind of. Generally if it was only for a scene, then the makers would have shown him in a clear face till now. But the fact that he has had that kind of a look for so long now, it seems that it's permanent. (speculation)
So this could be a reason for him to possibly get a surgery if the assumptions being made really come true.

Her birth mother is Geum Ra Hee who abandoned her when she was 3 years old on a bridge. Because Da Mi had a medical condition and the treatment required tons of money which her birth mother couldn't afford. Her birth father denied providing any help regarding this matter. She was adopted by a couple who wanted a child badly because her adopted mother went through many miscarriages. Grandfather is from her biological father's side. Her birth mother took her back so that she could use Da Mi as a pawn to extract money out of the grandfather for her drama production. Since Da Mi was related to her grandfather by blood.

She requests the girl to take the baby out of the school campus in order to avoid anyone else finding out about her giving birth. Then later on many things do happen but this is the scene you stated in your comment. Well yea, it is toxic, will boil your blood, but keep you hooked up

as mentioned in the storyline being given here in mydramalist, it's given "heated case of a missing girl"- so clearly Da Mi will arrive either towards the last few episodes of this season or the next season. I already knew something or the other is gonna happen to her when I saw her listed off as the supporting role. The grandfather has had a character development and i sincerely hope nothing bad happens to him. However as per whatever has been shown to us in these 3 episodes, I have no clue how is this related to the island thing given in the trailer? Omg this storyline has a great scope i believe and hoping that the writer will do justice to the same. Wish the storyline remains as intriguing and the pressure of the upcoming seasons doesn't ruin its charm! As per my experience with penthouse, it is too soon to label any character as good or bad since this drama is coming from the same writer. Anytime a shocking twist might be thrown to us, still the adoptive parents, grandfather and the guy who was pushed off the cliff (dk his name). These 4 are the only ones I feel can be trusted as of this very moment.

3rd episode finished, broo like seriously I hate the mother at this point, like the birth mother. Atleast have some humanity, can you? All you can think of is money and fame!??? Mone is just disgusting, nothing, yea I repeat NOTHING can justify her behaviour after the last 3 episodes. As per the synopsis, Da Mi is clearly alive, and the story will most probably revolve around how and who are the ones related to her disappearance as well as a brief into everyone's life and pov. Grandfather can't be hated, loved it when he said both ra hee and joo ran will go through the fire of abyss, i quite liked it that he wasn't biased towards his girlfriend. Still it might be too early to jump into a judgement that the grandfather is a nice character. Do Hyuk, guy i feel bad for you, again working under a person who betrayed you once and will surely do it again. I hope the adoptive parents don't go through so much of sufferings like they have done absolutely nothing wrong. Ahh but then this is a makjang! TT
There is a lot more that is left to be revealed like backstory of Mo Ne, who is 'K'? Whom does the grandfather works under? And what role Ki Joon will play? Who exactly did that to Da Mi? And under whom did the police officer do that?
Although this series is boiling my blood but each episode just leave me craving for more!

as per my interpretation, Da Mi, her adoptive parents, grandfather is a grey character (can't identify him as good or bad till now), and maybe the guy whose only family is his brother and mom (dk his name)

damn like I hate mone at this point, babe you literally befriended her because her figure was so much similar to you and convinced her to chop off her hair!?? Then after using her once, you give birth and blame it all upon her!? Damn girl. Loved it when Da Mi finally spoke up for herself and asked her to confess by the next day. Her birth mother is far worse compared to any mother I have seen in penthouse. Like is she even a mother? No pity, no remorse whatsoever at all for her child, all she cares about is money. At this point if she kills off da mi sooner or later, it would be no surprise!
Despite everything, i must say makjang is my favourite kdrama genre and no matter how worse it gets, i will keep watching lol

I have only watched the first episode, yet to begin with the second one. However I feel so bad for Da Mi. She really is a nice character, although stupid to some extent. Well, after seeing her being listed off as a support role here in MDL. Knowing very well, that this is coming from the writer who previously made penthouse. Fair enough to speculate that Da Mi might even be killed in the coming episodes?? Ain't sure, just a guess!
