Yeah, I felt like her apathy was more rooted in childhood trauma too. I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking this. I get a little annoyed at writers for not researching their characters psychiatric issues beyond having a limited understanding of PD’s. I’m on episode 11 and she absolutely doesn’t fit the criteria for psychopathy. I would diagnose her as aspd/sociopathy, major depressive disorder with suicidal ideation (the girl was planning her death to an obsessive degree) and complex ptsd from childhood trauma. A child going through what she did, having those feelings of being different, the anger and rage that comes with a child not understanding or being able to control that rage (emotional disregulation is scary for a child), then her mother abandoning her when she most needed help and someone that understands what she’s going through. The grandma did a good job helping her manage but they never touched on her trauma. Just accepting a diagnosis and learning how to manage life without hurting others doesn’t heal trauma.

Are we sure she’s not a sociopath? Sociopaths lack empathy the same as psychopaths. I ask that because psychopaths don’t usually emotionally lose it like she did in episode 1. She def has emotions, just not empathy. That’s a sociopath. They also tend to be emotionally unstable and can have meltdowns during those times of instability.

Oi!!! These two 😻 Their chemistry has chemistry. It’s the macro of chemistries…the plot? What can I say about the plot…it’s weak and absurd. Taiwanese drama plots more often than not, end up like this I feel. For example, grandpa investigated Hei then was shocked in the next episode to find out who his grandma was? It’s just a whole lot of absurd nonsense like that. I forgave and overlooked the plot cause the leads chemistry and relationship carried the drama.

I don’t follow the first part of your comment cause I’m unfamiliar with BoC or what that stands for. I don’t follow actor couplets at all, mostly cause of the crazy level of toxic that is “Thai bl drama shipping” whether it be fandom ships or mgmt/producer manipulated fandom ships for a bl marketed payday…but with the last part I validate and agree with 100%, that is definitely a them problem.

I feel like in every single role Book takes on, his character is the epitome of overreaction. Especially with anger and annoyance. Like he’s always screaming angry tantrums. That kind of character portrayal really gets under my skin and I’m always forced to overlook how annoyed I am by him so I can continue watching the drama. Is it me? If it’s me, please let me know. I’m not against doing some deep introspection in order to resolve any personal issues I may or may not have.

I should comment to clarify that I didn’t stop watching it cause I got bored. I started watching it when it was on air and Thai dramas feel like they take forever to drop episodes each week. I always get so annoyed by that and say “I’ll wait for it to finish running before watching the rest”…then I completely forget about it…cause my short term memory sucks pretty bad. Now that I finally remembered I’m definitely gonna rewatch and finish it 😂

It just dawned on me that these are the ml’s from that monster drama that I forgot to finish. I thought they looked familiar…I’ve never been a fan of shipping so I don’t follow actors to that extent. I recognized them eventually. That should count for something.

10 min into ep. 1 and I.am.dying. 😂Park is adorably hilarious with his emotional reactions and comedic timing after waking up in the hospital bed. I hope he has a long and successful career in acting.

I feel bad for most shipped pairs. For the majority it’s like a death sentence for their artistic expression. Actors should have the freedom to choose their projects without the constraints of being half of a shipped pair, whether it be a fan based ship or their managers and producers manipulating a fan base to ship them for a large fandom marketed payday. I’m almost always annoyed by a 2nd or 3rd drama from shipped couples. Those projects are usually pretty awful. One of the only couples I didn’t feel that way about was the ml’s from last twilight and my magic prophecy. Post-it note: If I offended anyone, I’m sorry. I’ve just been in a toxic environment most of my life and am sensitive towards the toxicity from the Thai bl drama industry and it triggers my poor overused empathy.

Boom played the vulnerability and fear of the “top yet aging actor” amongst the “young talent” and unexpected love perfectly. I felt so much empathy for what he was going through. His uncertainty and nervousness around Jin, the understandable feelings of inadequacy. And smart played sincere love, care and respect for his idol exceedingly well too. Hats off to both of them. Very impressive.

On episode 1 the comedic timing is pretty impressive… but from the other comments it sounds like that won’t be a consistent part of this series… maybe it’ll be inconsistent but frequent. One can hope, anyways.

The MIL (ML ma) is probably my all time favorite MIL character in any drama I’ve ever watched ever! I’m rewatching for the 1st time in probably a year and I just can’t get over how much I love her 😍 Her scenes have me laughing and loving the hardest, for real.
