For me too, and I'm glad I checked it out, because it's really good. I don't always like what she recommends,…
I like her rants, she has great imagination in describing dramas, that hit her nerve... Most of those I don't like either, so I enjoy her comments as she explains it much better than I do... Overdubbing is one of her ever complaints, but as non Chinese, I don't mind it much, I'm more concerned about subs. Unless the voice is childish and annoying, that puts me off, too, specially in female characters. Do you watch "Marcus here!"? I'm following him, also, may be even more often. It's simply nice to get some information about Cdramaland...
Gosh, that line 😅😂"my eyes would like to watch... but my brain cells can't stand it"hahahaha hell yes! Second…
Between chinese actors Leo Luo is one of my fav and he picks quite good roles, so I liked him in almost all of his dramas. And the winner is love was quite meh, but Ashes of love or Princess silver, I just loved his chracters and acting there. I must say I'm not too stuck on certain roles of the actors, I just take every drama by itself. I firstly apreciate good acting, then drama itself, plot, story etc... and after that, what my eyes like... in this order of importance. Actually, I find it borring if actor gets stuck in repeating the same role over and over... Some are literrary acting like having a stoned face, I just can't watch that for very long, no matter how handsome the appearance is...

Aw, yee... that conflict of interests happens too often... So many atractive, gorgeous actors... Sometimes I think: just let them sit there in front of camera and I'll watch - it would be better than many dramas... Ultimatelly, what can one do, if heart jumps but brain yawns... ?
True, good looks alone do not make a good actor/actress. ^^ There are so many reasons to drop, I dropped a drama…
LOL, it looks like we suffered at the same dramas but like different ones... I watched My GF is gumiho, if you mean the one of decade ago. It was sweet. I also switch to anime, I actually started watching Asian production through them... so I jump there from time to time, and other things too, like American or European. But I think I better take on more of my creative work to releive my stuffed brain and have fun in real life... Have a nice drama watching!

Thank you for your list, I've already sampled some of menthioned, I would say I liked the most Romance of TandR. Some of them I dropped thou, I haven't even started watching Thai, yet. I'm more on the fantasy side, so my fav are The Bureau of transformer, King is not easy, Extraordinary you, Goblin, My rommate is a gumilho... to menthion some. I laso liked many Jdramas, but, honestly, can't remember the titles. I'm not into BL - in real life I don't have anything against same sex love, have some good friends like that, but watching such production creeps me out... some strange bias that even I don't understand it myself... like, I don't really want to know the details... That said, I watched quite good portion of Untamed and Word of honour, but stopped about ep 20... In Cdramas there is nothing explicit about it, so I managed somehow... but got borred... May be I should take a rest from watching dramas... I find it that I get borred too easily, this days...
Not sure to watch this one, coz it seems everything is just a dream of a girl who is in a coma? Am i wrong? Should…
What is the difference between drama happening in girls dream or out of it? Not any of this storylines are really real anyway, isn't it so? If production and acting are good and plot is intreresting, who cares... just enjoy...

I really haven't got much mercy in dropping dramas, I think, I actually droped or skiped more than I watched them whole...- Borring, illogical, stupid plot, packed with lazy used chliches, - childish voiced, unmature or brain dead FL, - too stiff faced ML ( WOW! Miss the dragon's ML really took this to another level )... Then add annoying side characters with too much screen time, specially parents... Uf, I can't stand posesive, manipulative, controling mothers.... or any family member, for that... I get instant alergy... If one summs all this up, OMG, it's difficult to find a drama that wouldn't have too much this stuff in it... Like winning a lotery, almost... So, I often rewatch those I really liked... what else can a desperate soul do... sigh... Can you menthion some your most favourite ones?
I've never seen any of these dramas but loved your article anyway! Your lessons learned section was so helpful.…
I already got cured from "the eternal hope that a drama will get better" as you say. Because, it almost never happens, at least I haven't witnessed this mirracle to be worth mentioning... I don't bother checking anymore, when I lose the interest, drama is gone. Usually, I jump to last episode, but also have some, when I didn't care to do even that... Word of Honour is one of those, dropped it at ep 18 and didn't turn back... There is one thing I haven't been cured off yet - I beleive, there is always a good drama awaiting somewhere and it's worth looking for it...
I liked your article very much, I couldn't egree more with your lessons, I've learned them, too... Specially about the eye candies who, unfortunatelly, can't save the borring drama - my eyes would like to watch... but my brain cells can't stand it... LOL! I started most of the dramas you menthioned, but, I don't like to torture myself, so I - actually - dropped them... Sometimes I find myself not liking a drama at certain point in time, when I'm not in mood or something like that. So, I gave some dramas another chance, but yeeee.... it was no better the second time... When I get borred, frustrated or fed up with tropes - I just jump to the end and I'm done. There are dramas out there which are really good, so, why waste time on ones, who had a potential, but wasted it...
I didn't start this one yet as I wait for it to finish airing, I just checked here to read first impressions and when airing ends. Will definitelly check it out, shall see if I'll like it. Have a nice drama watching!
I very often get borred up to the middle of the dramas, because story starts to drag or plot makes no sense anymore... then I just check the end and I'm done... In Cdramas BL is actually never explicit and clear, it is mostly only sort of a bromance, there are hints who passed censorship, if one understands Chinese, but translation has almost none of that.. So, I also watched Word of honour and yee, dropped it arround ep 18... may be I already watched too much of all sorts and get borred too easily? Well, everybody has different preferences, so, no biggie...
LOL, Untamed really took me by surprise, as I only realised after few eps that there isn't going to be male-female romance... but something else... I'm also not fan of BL, thou, I actually stopped watching Untamed because I got borred...
Zhao Jinmei as Luna Lovegood - I must say in this choice I really felt like this actress would be perfect for this role.... her vibe and her voice - yes. But Dilraba as Hermione, really? Naaaa...
I also liked Moribito series, it has 3 seasons, it is very good production. And the female is in main role. Badass warrior one, by that. I liked anime, too.
I'm rewatching this for may be the third time, YT pops it up and I follow, because I like it so much. Just good feel drama, with no dragging or fillers but with simple story, nice romance, quite realistic relationships - in all, really good mix of sweet, cute and refreshing. And the best - it's a short one.
Yeah this one and city of streamer (so far) are banging
You can describe a lifetime story in 40 eps, so, yeee... writters often go astray just to fill episodes with something... usually borring, illogical or excesive. I survived very few dramas so long withouth skipping... many times directly to last episode... myny start sooo well, and then - flop....

City of streamer started well, chemistry between leads is wow, but I'm afraid it will water out because it's quite long one and that is the pain of most longer chinese dramas... Hope to be wrong...
