Started this for the second time and, again, couldn't bear more than two episodes. It is simply too much of overacting for me, that laughter of brother and sister... I just get creeps. Too many annoying characters, stupid behaviour, I'm not gonna torture myself anymore. Thou, I may say, I like Yang Yang's acting at the moments, he is even getting dirty... but yee, those cringy females are out of the league...

Yes, the FL in JOL was actually the only character I really didn't like much. I think that all other women, he met later, matched ML way better...

I'm having same with JOL, haven't forgotten that drama and a tiny piece of my mind is always waiting for it to pop up... let's hope SSS S2 will come sooner, not after years...

If you didn't watch yet, I recommend it. If you won't, you will miss some of most funny scenes I've ever seen in Cdrama. You may just stop at ep 16 and jump at last few minutes of last episode... I did so... and I still come and rewatch the parts that I like... If you need a good laugh, you will very probably find it in this drama! For me it is hilarious, including skits at the very end of every episode. Oh, yes, there is not even a female fly in a king's quarters...

This is one of my fav Cdramas, I will dismiss episodes just at the end like, never happened, as I loved all the others. Whose idea was to add that? Otherwise, it was hilarious, skits at the end were even more hilarious... yes, I laughed a lot. Acting of leads was unforgetable, so, I still pick up this drama from time to time and rewatch the funny parts.

I watched the JOF, the ML is the same actor and also other things can be find similar. Not literrary but the vibe of it. I mean the traveling, interesting relationship with father/epmeror, many women surrounding ML, not too fast pace, taking time for details, scenery itself. The comparison comes somehow by itself, thou, I like them both for their own reasons.

I liked Symphony's romance, I watched all versions of Nodame Cantabile, starting with anime and this Chinese one is really toned down to depicting almost normal human relationship between MC. We have lots of Steven in this drama and I liked his acting. I think I'm gonna rewatch it soon, because I finally found a version of Nodame by which I'm not cringed too much...

I agree with you, seeing such undecisive men who are submissive to mother or parents in general - so unpleasant to watch, thou, in some societies this is still a norm, even nowadays... Filial duty. No matter the price. Mama's boy is the worst kind one can pick as a spouse... or papa's girl...

I hoped you would menthion a bunch of dramas and I could find something new or what I missed - but I watched them all from your list... Which means, I love quirky... I watched many Jdramas and they are masters in this genre, must say... Ofcourse, I forgot the titles, so can't name them... But, but, but... I have to menthion one, which is by far my fav Cdrama: The Bureau of Transformer. I think this is the only Cdrama that made me weaping: give me more episodes... that's how good it is all the way!

I agree with you, I never wanted FL to be with SML in Extraordinary you, but I really loved the performance of the SML actor, I think, his acting was superb, really expressive and intense. As the other couple, I forgot the names, but I really shipped that poor girl with the violinist guy... yee, didn't come true... rich fella at least got those strawberries in the end...

I just loved your article, it really made me laugh out loud! Most od dramas you menthioned, I didn't watch, so I may prize myself as having a good instincts in avoiding annoying ones... ? But, ofcourse, you can find a lot of anger inducing things in any other dramas, so I just enjoyed your witty, sarcastic or humorous description of all that frustrating stuff that we face in dramas. And often in real life, too. So, yes, work well done, I'm gonna read this again because I really had a good time... Here it goes my conclusion about maddening or bad dramas: sometimes a comment section is much better than drama itself, LOL...
