This "The Long Night" gave me a thriller mystery detective korean vibes from beginning until the end. I can say chinese production did a very good job for executing the briliant story like this one. No wonder korean drama also wanna adapted into their own version. I thought, Korea did the right choice to change the perspective and modified it into their own version. If they did the same way like the novel and the drama did, then it would not be exciting anymore coz we already got the huge spoiler from original version. Its not romance adaptation. But this is puzzle mystery story adaptation. The ultimate joy about this series is how you add piece by piece into the whole picture and got ahhhhhhhh from it. Its a slow burning one but it gets better when you already understood whats happening in the story. Even time jumps from past to present and present to past didnt bother me anymore coz i already knew who is who. But if the viewers dont pay attention about the details, they will miss the most exciting part later.

Is it on Iqiyi right? Coz nowadays WeTV always snatch the license from iQiyi and it pissed me off. I already subscribed iqiyi from long time ago.

Love in the moonlight is Joseon era. No flowing long hair for men. They use all that cowboy hats. Also in that drama the female lead 80% use eunuch uniform. Not recommended for people who search korean period drama that use chinese hair style and costume like Silla and Goryeo era.

Yes, the southern trip usually use royal grand boats. In Ruyi, besides boats, they also show another pavillions that become the temporary resident for royal family in the tour. So in that details, we can see the grand event that Qianlong always did. Another important event is Royal Hunting Trip. Yanxi palace got some Hunting Trips? In that event we can see how Qianlong sons become rivals with each other after grown up into teenagers.

The budget for this drama is on par with Ruyi Love in Royal Palace but why they cant afford the crucial scenes like southern travel? Its very important event in Qianlong reign. So many events took place in that southern tour also. The grand event and crucial one is how the step empress Nara cut her hair to "divorce" the emperor for his behaviour and it took place when the emperor did the 4th southern trip, not in the palace. Ruyi also centered the harem fighting but didnt forget the events and details outside the forbidden city.

This drama is about power, love and jealousy. But the most important part is how noble Ruyi's heart is. She kept defending herself and the people she loved but never intended to hurt innocent people.

I wanna watch this one but also questioning the budget and quality of the events in this drama. It will be disappointing if the production skipped southern trip scenes. I heard empress fuca also committed suicide instead she was drowning in qianlong first southern trip. And it made me wanna ask about how the drama skip southern trip scenes etc?

Yes. So many cliche troupes here and there. In the end, the princess became so damn stupid to enter enemy camp without preparations and then suddenly the writer used damsel in distress plot.

For Kim So Hyun, She did a great job for become badass princess. But, for Na In Woo, i dont feel his charms in On Dal. I am more amazed by his performance as main antagonist in Mr Queen. In here, its just...like that? Idk why. Or maybe its just me who didnt like how the drama starts from beginning. It had potential to be great because you have a folktale to explore. Its different with Joseon that accurately written with exact events and dates. This one is based on folktale and it create more holes to put some creativities into the drama. The writer failed to make it interesting, poor palace schemes and conflicts, and boring settings (like you go around in the same place again and again). Even Joseon and Goryeo dramas have many better setting than this one. The only aspect that I respected from this drama is only battlefield setting. Lol.

Congratulations, your guess is damn right. Go Geon death in final episodes. But actually in that state, Go Geon has already fallen in love wih Mo Yong. Its not surprising though, he became a traitor to goguryeo and came to Silla. I am a heavy watcher for historical drama for both chinese and korean dramas, but i can say for this RWTMR is failed already to make me invested in the story. I prefer to watch chinese palace schemes and chinese kingdom war.
