Also, Dreaming Back to Qing Dynasty (2019) is also a remake of Scarlet Heart with a little of modification and history. But it still can get the license to air in Tencent. As long as the time travel drama didnt appear in TV channel.

Yes. You can try Heart of Genius first. Today is the day. Check it out in iQiyi tonight. Its so good and they have reputable actors. Zhang Xin Cheng is the bonus 😏 HOG has complicated story and got scifi approach. Its not romance focus like See You Again or Love is an Accident. Have you tried "Reset" from Bai Jing Ting before? Its also great + scifi focus with brain games.
Ah another sweet on series "Mr Bad" also has time travel element but its more simple like Love is an Accident. The ML suddenly goes to the future and ended up in this 21st century with the FL.

1. Love Between Fairy and Devil Yeah. This one also got problem when they were so close to airing date. The supporting actress Wang Yue Yi wrote post about Shinzo Abe death and cnetz indicate that action as pro japanese attitude. They didnt like it then it became bigger in weibo. Thats why iQiyi pushed the airing date FURTHER and they want to remove WYY out of frame to avoid troubles.
2. A Love Never Lost What a real pity. The high budget and dark history in this republican drama made a controversy about ML character. Some people said, its bcoz Li Xian char was based on Liang Bi as controversial historical figures and he got negative reputation as "great villain" in the eyes of Republic of China and their leaders.
So iQiyi and friends need to edit Li Xian parts and move him into supporting/second lead man to save this drama from blocking. Idk why the script writer wrote Li Xian character as Liangbi in the first place when she/he knew how strict the chinese govt works. And how censorship give a pass to this kind of story in the first place and the drama got distribution license? If they thought its okay before, then it should be okay. Why they suddenly give false hope and snatch the "Lollipop" that people are enjoying right now?
Then, See You Again is in the same pit as "Republican drama". And if iQiyi wanna play safe, they will also pending this drama. Whats wrong with this year Sweet On? Oh my...
I agree with most of comments. The couple is cute but the politics element in this drama is soooo BORING and very draggy. I prefer watch My Fellow Citizens for the same elements (comedy, politics campaign, coucil members, etc).
After watching the first six episodes without subbs ,, I think this drama won't see the light of daythe male lead…

This one is different. Its the early republican era. And ofc there is heavy japanese occupation in that time. Plus the fallen of Qing in emperor Puyi era.
Maybe they will also cut some parts of "too heavy japanese" in the drama. Coz Li Xian character was associated with japanese armies as well.
We should think positive and just wait for the update. The production team already said about Li Xian character controversy and they will fix it + release the drama properly to calming down the anger of fans.
Iqiyi posted ep 10 randomly 🤣 i guess its because of the default or system schedule. Coz it would be updated to ep 10 if this drama were airing smoothly.

But you know how china platform works. They keep pending the drama until the situation is clear. Maybe See You Again will be aired in the end of July or early August.

As far as i know, this drama is different from other chinese republican drama. Usually they blurred the dialogues with no mention of other party like communists, japanese, etc. And they set in the MIDDLE of republican era. Plus they usually have romance focus, melodrama, family conflict, and espionage (and for spy drama, they will censored it A LOT before airing).
For this drama, they got the setting in EARLY japanese invasion and the fallen of Qing. Its so early that people still had the bald head of manchurian (Li Xian style). So its another sensitive matter about Li Xian characters. Plus this drama got rebellion tag.
They tried to cut out Li Xian out of frame because of Japanese sensitive matter in that era. The fallen of Qing, Japanese Invasion, etc.
Seriously? Its dark history and its sensitive. Yes. Especially there is JAPANESE there. But why the script writer bother to set the drama in that era if China Govt will behave like this? OMO i am soooo ENOUGH for this april fools.
