I have seen her acting and , omg, it was unbearable for me. I had to drop dramas with amazing ratings like I've Fallen For You and Moonlight because I just couldn't take another moment of her overly 'cute' acting and high pitched baby voice. It's so forced and contrived that it didn't even look cute to me anymore. I was just not able to connect to her character at all, even if she proves to be a good actress, I'll not be able to tell since that filter of forced cuteness is always present in her actions. And Dylan Wang is also not my favorite, I could compare his acting to a literal stick in Miss The Dragon. I've only seen that one drama of his, and to be fair, it was a hot mess of a drama, script and production wise. So I am willing to give him a chance. If Esther Yu continues her baby like exaggerated cute acting, might end up dropping this one too.
P. S : the styling and production do look topnotch though

I am in the same boat. I started rewatching again to accompany a new viewer and it feels like a new ride all over again. The actors are the most amazing part about this drama and I miss this couple so much 😭 i really wish to see WRC and HYX together again. This is the best chemistry with an FL that he's had in all the dramas he's been in.

At 0:12 of this newly subbed video, you can see that he was overly attached to her head even in the BTS 🤣🤣

It's not a love triangle per se since the SML does not return the FL's feelings. But there's a lot of unrequited love in it.

That was quick. It's quite a journey to be sure. But the actors and characters made it worthwhile. Watch their livestream too.... Some tid bits you can understand here and there hehe. I have watched it so many times because their interactions are so cute, especially Hu Yi Xuan and Jiang Zhuo Jun. They keep sending each other kisses and hearts lol. Lol same. I don't watch contemporary dramas, only historical ones mostly. The only contemporary dramas I've watched this year are Unforgettable Love and A River Runs Through It, only for Hu Yi Xuan. So the range that I've seen of JJY are just the same type of roles I see her in the historical dramas.

Yeah, her character also follows the novel one pretty closely... So all of that is included in the drama. There are many deleted scenes, evn of LSY and XXJ, which we will never get to see 😭. I'd rather have seen that instead of the screen time given to Shen Duo.

Not many sadly. Just a few and not of the pivotal scene. They've added the subbed version of a few of them on yoyo english channel. I think they're subbing all of them and posting there now.

True.... But Chang Le is at least bearable, when XXJ rejects him, he just disappears. But Shen Duo is a clingy nuisance who even blackmails LSY and then creates a huge misunderstanding between LSY and XXJ, leading XXJ to believe that they're going out together in Zurich.

Hehe yeah. HYX repeats that line when the cast had their livestream hehe. The question was who was the most bullied or something along those lines (i don't understand chinese and it's not subbed sadly) WRC had to promise to give her a treat.
Yes, Tao Tao stands very strong in that instance and does a clean break. Even invites him to her wedding. Power move 😍

Lol no, he is never creepy. Their dynamics are just like that and so it makes total sense. And those manhandling actions have different purposes and meanings, sometime to distract her, sometime to comfort her, cheer her, get her attention, make a point, say goodbye, etc hahaha. I read a comment on Youtube which goes

Shiyi: *pats her head aggressively. *
I honestly find it cute lol and also that she just resigns and gets used to it.
Huang Jun never really lets go of Tao Tao. Even when he starts going out with Xu Menglu. Him and Shiyi even have a conversation about it, shiyi telling him to choose one.

Yes, even I wondered about introduction of chang le as a character. But it starts to make more sense in 28-29 . So the fireworks scene is in ep 27, then they have a time leap of 2 years. In those 2 years, shiyi doesn't confess nor makes overtures of any kind. So when chang le starts showing his interest in her, it serves as a wakeup call for him.

I think that's just how he is with her, even there's nothing to distract her from. I see possessiveness in those actions but maybe that's just me lol, like he has innate rights over her.

Yup that one... And it's used as a jumping off point for his departure and breaking of all contact for several years. And post his confession, Xiaoju tries very hard to make him give up on her and not give him false hope, so there's that angst too. Most of it is cute and funny though.

Hehe. Yes we all wanted more scenes of them as an official couple. But it's cool that they at least showed that extra clip, i was not expecting that at all. It was such an amazing surprise and it's such a cute scene. I totally see Shiyi being an indulgent father who spoils his kids, leaving the disciplining to Xiaoju lol. And Xiaoju looks at him differently too. Earlier, when he'd do that thing with her cheeks she'd just be annoyed and over it. Now there's resignation and fondness in her eyes, like she's gotten used to his manhandling so much over the years haha. I also like that Xiaoju starts smiling in the middle of scolding him/being angry at him, she does that even before, post ep 29. My mom does that too, hence i can never take her scolding seriously lol.
