yes they all go to the same university!
I completely understand. I was a good girl till around ep 30 but it was getting so nerve wracking and we had to wait 4 days for the subbed episodes. So i watched all the remaining non subbed episodes in one go 🙈. I didn't watch the kisses since i wanted to maintain that surprise. But i feel you. And yes, that proposal scene was amazing!!!! There was so much emotions in their eyes. Relief, happiness and possessiveness almost. I loved how his hands just kind of swallowed her head and she leaned in with happiest smile. Aaaah i screamed when I saw that scene hehe.

Finishing 15 and it seems like relationship musical chairs; everyone likes someone but not the ppl they'll end…
They confront this aspect in the drama. They're all such great friends that no one wishes to jeopardize their friendship by making it complicated with their feelings involved. Both Xiaoju and Shiyi say this at one point.

I loooved ep 19!! That hug scene omg!!! All their hugs are my favorite!! you're going at a very fast pace, if you plan to watch all through the weekend you'll be done in a couple of days. It does get angsty here and there but there are a lot of lighthearted moments between the leads which makes it all bearable. They both get closer and closer as the episodes progress. Ep 21-24 are super angsty though.
Yes, that's when he leaves and he's very dumb even in those instances. It's not an accident that she misses him, he makes that happen very deliberately as you'll see in the drama. He in a way breaks all contact with her even before he leaves for the US.

The writing is weird, not gonna lie. But till then WRC has done such a great job with the character that by that point you've completely fallen in love with Lu Shi Yi. And by then Xiaoju also does lot of dumb things. I mean not dumb things per se but she hesitates a lot, walking backwards or sideways like a crab, while he is chasing her desperately. Ep 34 is heartwrenching for both of them. :'(

True. But because of the misunderstanding, he breaks all contact with her for 5 years. Leaves without any explanation or saying goodbye

Yes, that's why I said both their character development take a hit in the last two episodes. The motivations are not clearly shown. Hence, with the way Shiyi acts once he comes back, i kinda sympathise more with the FL because at least her actions and reactions are understandable. His are not lol. But I am in the minority. Most viewers actually sided with the ML, saying she didn't deserve him or whatever (i mean, if I were in XXJ's place I would've smacked him lol so she took it pretty well considering his antics when he comes back) I would advise you to form your own judgement

The bonus clips were put behind a paywall by dumb Youku. But a kind user by the name of Mooberry has posted them in the discussion section so we all got to watch it. But they're unsubbed. You can kind of get the gist though.

Yayyy!! HYX has a love interest?!! Man, i am really looking forward to her next CP.
Hehe yeah. I've been a fan of HYX since last year and because of her dramas this year, she has quickly become my favorite actress. I have seen a few dramas of Reba too and I really liked her in this year's TLB. I haven't watched too much of Allen Ren but I've heard good things about him and even Cristy Guo for that matter. So I am pumped. Let's wait and see how it unfolds. I am glad the source material is already popular and well loved.

To all the disappointed souls in here. People really get disappointed way too easily. Let me ease some emotions…
Aww you definitely injected some much needed positivity in this comment section. I honestly liked the CGI, maybe I was the only one lol. I was concerned about HYX's role switch but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I am going to stick to my plan of watch this once both dramas finish airing and getting subbed. I am glad that she has a love interest though, I have loved all her CPs so far so I'm curious to see what kind of chemistry she is able to create with this actor who is completely new to me.

I hope so too. She has no other dramas lined up for 2022 :'( I hope she gets her deserved screen time as per the significance of her character. I really want to see her chemistry with Reba

I don't remember such interactions between the characters of Allen and HYX in the novel , they were always at…
Ooh wow!! That makes me excited tbh. I like such love-hate relationships with a lot of banter.

Yes, I loved him in TLB as well. He has an amazing on screen presence. This is the third drama of HYX I'm seeing and I loved her natural acting and all the delivery of her emotional scenes. She cries so convincingly, something a lot of other actresses of her age range struggle with. She is always convincing in her roles. I laughed and cried with her in the drama. Even WRC has done an excellent job with the emotional scenes. His hit differently because the way his character is written. I love the way the two actors play off of each other's energy

Indeed, I was blown away by his performance as Lu Shi Yi. He killed it. I had only ever seen him as the villain in the Eternal love series and I liked him in that too. But I looooved him in ARRTI, the major reason why I like LSY as a character has to do with WRC playing him. The way he looks at her!!!! I'd give anything to have someone look at me like that lol. I wish he'd get more lead roles from now on. And I was always a fan of HYX as an actress but she became my favorite chinese actress because of ARRTI. I hope and pray we get to see them together again, especially in a sweet romantic drama where they have a lot of love scenes (even though I like their constant bickering too hehe.) Because they have such inasane chemistry, I find their moments more romantic than the actual romantic relationships in this drama.

Oooo the kisses are the best! They've delivered them really well, very natural (no dead fishes pressing their lips together here). The actors have kissed 4 times in total but the characters only have two kisses in the reality of the plot.

Lol i didn't even know about the episode guide feature. It must be like a candy shop to you, you have all the spoilers right there. And yes, it's pretty accurate, the skeletal version of the plot. The strength of this drama lies in the small details though. And yes, pretty much every member of the pack of friends struggles with love in their young adult age.

So basically the chinese character Tu stands for mud or soil. In literal terms it means someone who is unkempt, outdated, tasteless, etc. Datu means someone who is dowdy, unkempt, with poor taste, etc. That's the nickname Xiaoju gave him and she is the only one who calls him that lol. What's cuter is WRC mostly refers to himself as Datu, and not Lu Shi Yi, in the interviews and livestreams.

I don't compare stories, plots and such but things like chemistry between the couples or overall production quality, those differences are easily visible to me. I have also taken a break right now because the Chinese dramaland is pretty dry at the moment. Might check our Once we get married since I like ML from the Imperial Coroner. I generally don't watch contemporary dramas (hence I didn't check out YAMG but I've heard good things about it so I will most likely check it out when I have nothing better to watch) I mostly watch historical or costume dramas. ARRTI was my first youth cdrama as well.
