If I ask a man to be my plus one, I don't expect him wear designer clothes, but a clean suit, grommed, shaved and hair trimmed; but not in jeans or t-shirt unless that's the wedding dresscode. And if I know in a wedding the dresscode matter I dress accodingly as a matter of respect for the people who sent the invites
