Show was a poorly-written traditional soap opera. Very slow and boring for long stretches, it might have worked better as a daily drama. If streaming now I would watch the first 20 episodes, skip the next 20, and watch the rest.
The last episode is nothing but Dong Ju getting hit in the head with a metal pipe for an entire hour. Fortunately, he is rescued, makes a full recovery and has a HE with Han Na.
Not sure why the hype for this show. FL is nearly unwatchable for me and story could have been improved by a first generation AI. There will always be people who like shows like this but 8.5? Maybe the spinoff will offer some level of redemption.
This show is like a great 2-hour movie that you would really enjoy, but instead you watch the 3-hour Blu-Ray Directors cut that includes all of the deleted scenes and struggle to even complete.
Show was good and the ending did not set up a sequel. It was designed to portray a happy ending for Xin Xing and Tian yu and a very unhappy ending for Ex Husband, his mother, and his sister after all of their scheming. At the end, the brother is apart from his mother, drunk, and regretful. Throughout the series, each time the sister tried to make a move for Tian yu, she encountered Xin Xing and would then concoct a scheme to hurt her. At the end, seeing a happy Xin Xing in an old video with her brother (at the same time Xin Xing is marrying Tian yu) was the most painful and ultimate retribution for her. There is nothing she can do with the video because it was deceitfully recorded and includes her brother. There is no longer anything she can do but accept her fate.
Not sure why the hate for Xin Xing. She found out her home and job were given to her out of guilt and pity. Tian Yu was cowardly in sharing the truth, had no plan and he is the GM of the company that worked against her father. Of course she would want to sever ties with each of the families and create a new life. The writing is a bit messy but her actions make sense.
This show has a ridiculous premise (ML is only able to be "turned on" by the FL) and is a frustrating watch. For most of the 10 episodes the ML is completely indifferent toward the FL except for wanting to sleep next to her for his own sexual gratification. Not sure why anyone would create such a show. I would remove the romance tag and replace it with fetish.
This is the dumbest show I can remember watching in a long time because I normally drop bad shows quickly. However, Shin Hye Sun , as usual, is great. To best enjoy this one I recommend completely turning off your capacity to reason.
I have seen hundreds of Kdramas, Cdramas, and other Asian offerings. IMO , this show is still among the best of them. Story is fairly simple but powerful. Great performances all-around especially Han Ji Min, whose character grows throughout the series,
Acting and production was top-notch but it was a 20-episode story presented in 30 overly-long episodes. Big hype but a very frustrating watch. The plot inched forward at a snail's pace throughout the series and I could not have finished without liberal use of fast-forward. Its 9.1 rating will not age well...but on the other-hand there probably is a legitimate 9.1 rated show in there somewhere.
This show is built on a ridiculous premise--that the ML has a 14-year, deep unrequited love for his FL "best friend". The episodes are long and often tortuous to watch as both leads date other people throughout but yet spend so much time sharing their deepest thoughts with each other. I think it has been rated high because it is well-acted by both leads and has a satisfying ending. However, to best enjoy it you have to completely disregard reason and accountability.
