I am actually very impressed with the ML acting. Never saw him before and had to look him up. I get the sluggish personality in the beginning. He is actually a very proud character that is alone in a brand new world with only strangers to rely on. He is immediately attracted to FL and somewhat embarrassed at his circumstances and hates being dependent but has no choice. that is where the "sluggish" comes from... but I wouldn't use that phrase. He is just completely out of his element, embarrassed but grateful, proud yet humble. It's a complicated confusing jumble of emotions that I can only imagine what someone in his predicament is going through..... hence the behavior that I am sure he was coached by director to exude. I think it works. I love the way he played the character. He really made me feel like I was in his shoes. I have seen dramas with women in this position but never a male character. His portrayal is very interesting.
Great drama, but I think they can find a better actor for the ML. ( Just my opinion , no hate ).

So.. I got up to episode 11 (1/2 way through now) got to see YML🥰😇🩵. the story is very good and is keeping me captivated unlike many others right now that I can't seem to get through. I have to say, that even though I find Joseph Zeng to be a good actor, I feel he is not the right fit for this role. That is the only thing that keeps throwing me off. Someone like Wang Duo has more the stature. But overall... enjoying the drama. Not boring at all.... from someone who gets bored easily.
Well, just watched first 4 episode drop; and Im sorry to say I am disappointed in some things. It has been awhile since I read the book which I thought would be great to forget a lot when going into the drama. I k8nda knew they were going to take out the rebirth but that only solidified the idea more that this is a strong hardened woman and not a little girl..... so I HATE the idea that she is coming off in the drama with a cutsy persona.... I blame the whole production for that and not just the actress.... but I have to say that as soon as I saw the casting I worried about that. I needed this to be a little more serious and dark. They also made episodes so short so I am sure they will be taking out many things from book.But my biggest complaint is her portrayal of FL..... very unhappy because that is pretty much the center of the story. It's not like she is a character that has to evolve into a stronger more stoic figure.....She has already been through it all, so this cutsy little girl with military talent just doesn't cut it for me....so who to slap¿... Director¿....screenwriter¿... actress¿ or the whole kit & kaboodle.hope it gets better. I will gladly eat my words.
