August 19th is the Chinese Doctors' Day. The drama's original airing date (before its filming being suspended because of pandemic) was August 19 2020. So some say that its new airing date is set to be around August 19th of 2022.
I've watched 8 episodes and so far it's very good. Though my advise is to watch it in one go when it finishes running as it only has 15 episodes and the remaining 7 episodes will be updated in 2 weeks' time which is quite long.
Director Lu Yang talked about this drama in a recent interview with CCTV.
1. He decided to work on this drama because he likes the conflict and dilemma that the characters confront.
2. The Wind Blows From Longxi is set in the Three-Kingdon period. What attracts him most about stories of this period is that they were not about good and evil, rather it was a special era where countless heroes emerged, shining and showing their wits. No matter which political side they belonged to, they had their own charms.
3. Despite being a Three-Kingdom spy drama, this story is more vivid than previous stories (of the period). Other stories were about the famous: the kings and rulers, but this drama is from the POV of "little people". Viewing the big times through small characters is something different and is the story telling that he likes.
4. They (the creators of this drama) want to focus on the emotional needs and conflicts of ordinary people who have no super power but do something great in the critical moments. He hopes that the story ends up carrying weight and is touching, not something floaty.
5. The creation of the script and casting of actors went quite smoothly. They spent some effort finding the right actor to play Zhu Geliang until Li Guangjie joined them. This drama portrays the other side of Zhu Geliang who is not as elegant and magnificent as he used to be portrayed.
6. Why did he choose a drama as a film director? Originally, they wanted to make this a movie, but it would be hard to include all the information for the length, so he suggested to make it a drama and the producer agreed.

The drama started filming in Nov. 2019 and had to stop in Jan. 2020. So it was only two months of filming, but the scheduled duration was 4 months. The shooting resumed in late July - Early Aug. 2021, so it should be wrapping up soon.
I think they'll still have an overseas shoot. But they're almost done.
This part was already shoot back in 2019 before the opening ceremony in Yinchuan (Northwest of China). Yang Mi mentioned it in an interview in 2021 saying that it was the toughest shooting spot she has been in. The actor who played her ex-fiance was also present. It's likely they've changed the FL and ML's first encounter so that they meet each other later.
