I think the pace is quick too.... alot of going back and fourth.... between timelines/dimensions etc.... i dont think it has impacted the drama a great deal, still think it is ok for the pace.... chemistry i think will build, keep in mind 2 parts.... this is a long story.....

2. Bai Lu for me is one of those actresses people either like or dislike.... i see it all the times on weibo for years her fans have really been at it with other female fan bases one classic example Cheng Xiao fans over Xu Kai & Luo Yunxi.... i think this has really impacted Bai Lu & Luo Yunxi to some extent.... Bai Lu for me has been in many classics however her Douban ratings of those dramas never reflect it.... same with Luo Yunxi, i just feel opposing fans come on to mark them down at times.....
right now on par for best drama of 2023.... but want to just keep watching rather than get carried away already calling it the greatest drama ever or highest grossing ever....
the more i am watching this drama, the more i am thinking Eddy Geng is MVP.... I am loving this guys character, i am really buying into the chemistry he and Sun Zhen Ni have as a pairing....

The best ever? That is a big big call. Reason is because this genre is so sensitive in a way. For me right now is still Eternal Love. That's the drama that got so many people their major push even til this day. Yang Mi became a revelation same as Diliereba. That drama got like 7 billion views.

Its getting better.... I am enjoying it, however most these dramas just long.... Korean dramas like 12-16 episodes, perfect.... think they play more emphasis on removing redundant dialogue trying maximise entertaining while C-drama just tries add more dialogue just to keep drama going....

Ok, major difference between Wang Hedi & Luo Yunxi & Bai Lu & Esther Yu....
Wang Hedi is the stronger devil.... no way he could play the weaker version like Luo Yunxi however skillwise i say Luo Yunxi probably more skilled for the role required.... He had to lose weight for this role.... Wang Hedi just needs to be the strong male lead, period!....
Esther is the softer warmer version... Bai Lu is the colder stronger version female lead....
Wang Hedi 'Stronger' + Esther 'Softer Warmer' Luo Yunxi 'Weaker More Skilled' + Bai Lu 'Colder Stronger'....
COMBINATIONS pretty much reversed.... Both versions same balance....
This one and others will make the exception....
