damn shes actually drop-dead gorgeous. I’ve seen many of her works by chance and always knew she was pretty, but maybe because i really like yiyoung’s character and her acting here, im like seeing her in an entirely different light.

classic MacGuffin. I could be wrong, but I guess the statue dude was actually a true freedom fighter and pretended to be a japanese collaborator, so there was no gold all along or it was used up for his freedom fighting activities.
or maybe the real ‘treasure’ is successfully preserving the education/school for future generations.

Not your most polished drama—entertaining at first to see how their relationship develops, but it grew stale once all the intrigue elements were gone. By Episode 7, I was losing interest, and from Episode 8 onward, finishing the show was a struggle. The chemistry wasn’t chemistry-ing enough to hold my interest, while the weak grandma plotline didn’t help either.

Honestly an easily forgettable show.

you probably misunderstood, it’s a fixed expression or set phrase in chinese/mandarin so the subs are right.

I don't even feel like expressing it in words, but this was such a beautiful story and journey to experience. Best C-Drama of the year contender.

I’d usually factcheck too before I start mentioning about any hearsays from X. But one thing I can personally confirm was that he was posting birthday stories on his birthday on IG (I saw it back then) on the day she passed. Guy was celebrating when she died. Dude is DEFINITELY not clean given that they have some sort of relationship atp.

it’s hard to fact-check every claim out there, but one thing I 100% know for sure is that I can clearly remember him posting birthday stories and celebrating on IG at that time (I was following his IG after QoT). Knowing that he certainly has some sort of relationship with saerom now, the thought of him celebrating on the day she died is making me sick to my stomach. absolutely vile and repulsive.

everyone has their own form of escapism and that’s his, its not that big a of a deal since it does not harm others or his work. cliches are not necessarily = bad btw, and you complain about cliches but then what? you want a cliche CEO personality instead? at the end of the day if its such a turnoff for you just drop the show, even tho there are already signs that his interest is slowly diverting towards the FL more.

and yes, it’s your personal opinion, but i think you represent exactly those who judge the ML negatively for his hobbies in the show. if you can’t enjoy it, just drop.

I went to read the negative comments on both douban and weibo, filtering out those personal attacks on the actor/actress, apparently majority seems to hate the amount of xsr scenes it has (short for 性骚扰) which means sexual harassment. And some stated that the director added some of those xsr in the drama which wasn’t in the novel to make use of FL’s misery to highlight even more how good the ML is as a contrast which pisses a lot of ppl off (idk how true this is since I haven’t read the novel)

im on netflix, so im only up to ep10 so far, but this is already a contender for the best cdrama this year. nice to see that everyone in the comments are enjoying it too 😊

As someone who dislikes the school delinquent (or bullying) trope due to how pointless and hollow the subject is, this was surprisingly very well-executed and entertainingly fun. A great adaptation.

You know those 5–10 minute short films or skits that you wish could be turned into a full series? This drama felt like one of them, fully brought to life.
I really liked the cinematography and direction of the drama (EP3 ending scene was creative and memorable for me).

Give it a try, first 3 episodes were perfect for me and if you don’t really like it by then, this is probably not for you.

Wow Ep 9:
Na-u conducting + Sohyang’s (나가거든 + 레퀴엠 Lacrimosa) was such a legendary performance.
And Jong Ho from ATEEZ has a very nice singing voice too; reminds me of one of those seasoned ballad singers.

This show is perfect for casual viewing, hoping that it will go on forever with how fun it is.
