Literally most of the comments in English and Portuguese on every platform. I’m gonna start generalize soon.
YES! especially the English and Portuguese comments. Although, the Spanish side of the fandom are pretty divided. My boiled when I saw the hate toward Yusei and that dumbass on TikTok telling people Kiyoi SA Hira, and the fact they believed it left me too fucken stunned.
I can’t stand Stan twitter and Tiktok stans, I have never seen species more out of touch with reality than them! One animal (they don’t deserve to be called a human) hating on Yusei because they can’t stand Kiyoi. Like, animal, can’t you fucken realize Yusei and Kiyoi are separate individuals? Kiyoi is a damn fictional character, he doesn’t exist, stop projecting your insecurities on him. Another dumb animal on TikTok telling people that don’t watch the show that in the novel Kiyoi sexually assaulted Hira and that Hira is into “Abuse kink”. Another dumb animal, said Kiyoi is homophobic towards Hira but can’t even give a proper reason as to why Kiyoi is homophobic when I asked.
These three animals are all Koyama stans, like, y’all can be sad over him not being the love interest but y’all need to CHILL. Y’all can drop the show anytime without making up lies or slandering Yusei because he’s done nothing wrong.
Nobody has said it yet, but since I couldn’t stop thinking about that scene where Hira stood up to Shirota… my boi Hira became the definition of “punching the air” 😂 director did him dirty
I need episode 5 on Gagaoolala already!!! I know it already aired in Japan but I need the episode to be available now *cries* how long do I have to wait?
So i am up to ep 4 and ngl... the whole dynamic of this series is very unsettling. In a way the bully (kiyoi)…
I think I’ll get sick and tired of explaining this to everyone. The “whole shooting the place up” fantasy is nothing more than a metaphor for Hira’s anger and rebellion against his bullies. By his bullies I am not including Kiyoi because Hira does not view him as his bully but his savior, he’s referring to Kiyoi's “friends" who mock his stutter. That is why in that scene with the professor Hira clarifies to the audience that he didn’t do it for Kiyoi, he did it for himself and that made him stand up for the first time in his life, Kiyoi just helped him realize this and that’s part of why he idolizes him so much.
Gagaoolala basically says the story is more than sex my guess implying there IS those types of scenes or like…
Excuse my slow ass, but what does Riku mean by attacker-receiver? I know is about sexual scenes but “attacker-receiver” is a new kind of way to describe such scenes lmao.
Stay to tune for the next episode since we’ll finally get Kiyoi’s pov
LMAOOO Agree but I’m a very optimistic person so I always look at the bright side and hope it is not too late for them to see past their own dumb takes
As a fellow westerner British to be specific I have no idea what your talking about. Unless you can speak Japanese…
Exactly, imagine how boring it would be to have a series that’s like “one nice boy goes to school and bumps into another nice boy, but the only problem he’s too shy around nice boy no.2. Then they both visit a coffee shop confess to their love” like where is the drama?! Character growth? Where are the slaps and the hair pulling? Where is the thrill?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, unproblematic shows ≠ Good shows just like problematic shows ≠ Good shows. What makes a good show is the acting, script, directing, cinematography etc. not whether or not the main leads punch and kick each other or act like a cute shy couple from a coffee AU.
The funniest part is how they're so upset about fictional characters being possibly mistreated, they'd be racist…
Oh there’s a lot of them, actually. In every fandom there’s that one moron who think they are holier than thou because they think they got better morals than others
Just because you don't like a fictional show that explores the themes you don't like, you'd put down all Japanese…
YES, and let’s not forget the entire plot of GoT, let’s add shameless US where the father of 7 kids uses them to scam people for money, lied to his youngest son telling him he had cancer, abandoned his eldest daughter to take care of the rest of the family and pay the bills at age 14. Oh, let me add that in this American show two kids blackmailed a woman to show them her boobs, and kids watching porn but we don’t go “Oh, American media, how disgusting and toxic just like the entire nation” ofc each country got issues that they gotta work through in society but c’mon, fictional works is the only source of entertainment that people can escape from their problems at least for some minutes it is not meant to be Netflix documentary on morals

AMEN! I was trying so hard to not be rude on my reply, like wtf do they expect from fictional works? If they really wanna watch something that teaches morality like go watch some documentary. It ain’t that deep, we shouldn’t censor the works of fiction by asian authors because some westerner feels uncomfortable. Like they don’t have to like it but generalizing is not it. And the fact they said “I generally understand Japanese people” like no you don’t 😄
