What a stupid excuse for being racist. No one is born racist, they learn to be racist. Just saying oh yeah, everyone is racist is unacceptable, the world needs to do better and call it out. Celebrities don't get a pass.

Its a cultural thing that needs to be changed. South East Asians have always been considered lower class to Asians from East Asia in social/financial status and the color of their darker skin. There is this perception about these Asians, its why making a comment like this can create anger among some people.

If the tables were turned in this case, Chinese people would have stopped all travels to SEA countries by now.

He should of said the picture looked like a poor Chinese man working in the fields (because they do exist in China), maybe people from SEA wouldn't feel so offended. SEA has always been made fun of for their skin color or their social status against EA countries, of course they will be offended, an apology was needed. I went into this drama knowing that He Yu was in it. Last time, I watched him in Legend of Shen Li and he was the real MVP. lol Watching this now, he's still the MVP between the two leads. This reminds me of when Li Xian got really popular because of Go Go Squid, I get the same feeling here with He Yu. I cannot say the same about Esther though...she's already popular but she has not been able to prove to me that she can break from that cute acting she also shows in this drama. It gets old real fast and I can't stand her in this already. She needs a different expression in this show. Its always the same cute, googly eyes look and I'm tired of it.
