As a woman, my heart obviously feels for Wanning and the suffering she has been through. That being said, do I think the trap in ep 35 was heartless? No. Wanning has suffered a lot and instead of taking revenge on the people who hurt her, she has used her suffering to make countless innocent people suffer as well. She did this because she feels that if she, a princess, can't have happiness and has to endure misfortune, why should anyone else be happy? Especially the people of Yan who's happiness comes from her misfortunes. And that's not correct because those people are not the ones who mistreated her. These are just some of my thoughts on the situation.
Oh and as for SYR, while I hate him to the core and think he always had some seed of evil in him, she's the one who helped that seed grow. So she really can't be surprised at the way he's treating her. It's foolish of her to think that a man capable of killing his wife would not in turn be heartless towards her.

I feel like people are forgetting her age in the show and the fact that she did not have to scheme this much before her husband did what he did to her. She's new to all of this and isn't slowing down because she wants to avenge her family and thinks she has nothing left to lose. The way she acts makes perfect sense to me.
