I put this on hold after ep.2 and keep coming here to check spoilers. im curious how this gonna end, then decided…
I agree the ratings should be higher but i wouldn't worry too much. Its been one of the most popular shows on south korean netflix (ranked #2 or #3 for several weeks straight). Its doing very well. They should definitely do more international promo tho, I have no idea why they haven't
Just caught up with the drama. It isn’t perfect but it’s very enjoyable. The music and production values are…
I'm definitely a bit disappointed with GSY's screen time. She's such a good actress and it feels like after episode 1 they've not really known what to do with her.. I think one of the most engaging things about Siho is her relationship with Sangwoon. I hope they continue to build on their sisterly bond. Love every scene GSY and Nara have had together so far
I'm really curious how things are going to play out. In regards to what happened in the past things seem pretty clear now. But the cast mentioned before the show that there were gonna be a lot of plot twists. We've only seen a few so far so maybe they still got some surprises up their sleeve. I'm kinda hoping for some wild twists and turns tbh, would be exciting ^^
Came to check the comments hoping to get back to this but uhm...I'm starting to get why WB, PMY, SJS and KJW all…
Wonbin turning down a drama isn't really news lol this man has been done for a decade. I do think it would be interesting to see the show with different leads. As much as I like Nara I don't think her and LJW have lived up to Lee Joon and Gong Seungyeon's performances
After seeing her as Dan Sol in the 1st episode of Bulgasal I really need Seungyeon in another historical drama. The vibe she gives off is perfect for it
I agree that I would love more tension. On the note that she rolled her ankle again, I'm not so opposed to that.…
My problem isn't whether her rolling the ankle again is realistic or not.
The first time she rolled the ankle we got the piggyback and then it was not acknowledged again until today's moment.. Purely to bring up another "moment" with the two of them. The ankle has only been brought up as a tool to bring romantic tension. It just feels lazy within the context of the show. I don't think the "realism" claim is valid when they've basically ignored the ankle in all other scenes
I wish the writers would do a better job of making romantic tension. I'm all for a love line if they were capable of making the scenarios different and believable. Sangwoon rolling her ankle for the 2nd time within 4 episodes just to add some "tension" was a really weird choice.
I don't think the writers are doing Sangwoon justice at this point in the story. Although from a certain point of view I guess you could say this about anyone except Ok Eul Tae lol
Some people r saying Hwal didn't loved his wife i wonder how the fuck did he got her pregnant twice?? Why did…
I do think he holds love for her but this is not a good arguement for it. A lot of loveless marriages still produce children. Hwal probably felt a duty to the general and Dan Sol wanted a family because she had no one in her life that loved her and that she could love.
A better arguement for the love (platonic or not) is what we were shown before the curse took effect. They were childhood friends and never had anyone else besides eachother (Hwal had the love of the general but that was it). We saw several quick glimpses of scenes with Hwal and Dan Sol as adults where they weren't cold with eachother at all. Besides that; the way Hwal reacted to first seeing her again + The way he's looked at her in other scenes. Thats not purely guilt. That's warmth.
I don't ship them. I don't think any romantic relationship works in the show so far tbh. They're probably all doomed to fail anyway so I wouldn't want to get my hopes up even if I did lol. But I also think the people that write off Hwal's feelings as purely guilt are kidding themselves
I'm getting pretty sick and tired of seeing some people (namely 2 people who might be the same person with 2 accounts since they make similar arguments..) shit on Siho and act like she's the WORST PERSON ON THE PLANET because she got pregnant with her boyfriend?? A boyfriend she clearly didn't expect would leave her? How do you watch this show and come away from it thinking "omg Siho got knocked up by some random guy just because he was hot what an immature and stupid brat". Like are you okay?? How do you have a vendetta against this young girl who's clearly lived a traumatic life and just wants to now take care of and raise her baby and be happy with her sister? This young girl who clearly has a kind heart and has been more than understanding towards Sangwoon despite how many times she has blown her off?
Call it whatever u want i still think HwalSol is the stupidest ship i have ever seen. And before people start…
There you go again with the weird internalized misogyny. Please get help or something. I don't know WHERE you even got "Siho got pregnant with some rando because he was hot" from. It was a long term boyfriend and him being hot is literally all we know about him. That doesn't mean thats the only reason she was with him?? She also said he treated her well.
I don't even ship HwalSol, literally any ship in this show is doomed to fail or end in tragedy. I'm just sick of seeing your weird and nonsensical vendetta against Siho
Thing is Hwal has been in holding pattern of his own making for 600 years. He doesn’t want to it can’t move…
??? Wtf do you mean "have fun with hot guys and gets knocked up without any regrets"?? It was her long term boyfriend that got her pregnant. She obviously didn't expect him to leave her after it happened. And she clearly DID have regrets? Always blows my mind when women are this nasty and toxic towards female characters for no reason. Maybe do some introspection
Dan Sol and Hwal were put together by dad because they were both weirdos no one else would have LOL. It was not…
I don't ship Hwal and Sol romantically but they were childhood friends, and we also saw flashes of the two of them getting along happily as adults (before things between them turned cold). Not liking them romantically is one thing but to discount Hwal's emotions as just being from guilt is I don't think is right. I think there was definitely platonic love between them given that they were likely eachothers only friend for years
What if they do another plot twist and make Doyoon's brother the actual reincarnated son of Hwal and Sol instead of Doyoon like we all assume? I haven't seen anyone bring this up yet but I feel like the brother has to have significance to the story besides just being motivation for Doyoon to follow Eul Tae. We barely know anything about him but what we DO know is that he suffers from some kind of condition.. Maybe that condition is a present-day version of the bleeding eyes from his past life?
Bulgasal is the 20th ranked tv show worldwide on Netflix right now despite only being available in 14 countries! Thats really impressive. It has also consistently been #2 or #3 on South Korean Netflix, so if people are worried about the ratings not being that high don't be. A lot of Koreans are simply watching it there instead of the live broadcast
If nothing else then atleast let Siho and Doyoon have a happy ending :') my babies
