Teen guys helping teen girls when pregnant is all okay. But isn't this series indirectly promoting teen girls…
i'm confused cause where did the teen girl neglect school and throw away her life? she wants to stay in school, study, get a good job? obviously pregnancy is not something that should be happening to teens, but in reality it does, and they continue their lives after that too; maybe a bit differently than they had hoped, but when given the right support their lives are definitely not ruined.
OMG - episode 8 was so terrible! How can the writing descend to such depths of cliché and tired old tropes so…
wow... i know things like these are subjective but i felt TOTALLY different about this episode... i rly saw no cliches lol, sometimes something is portrayed a lot in media bc that's the way it is in real life too..idk personally i found that scene where hosik asked for money quite well placed and shocking, totally didn't expect such a reason for their falling out
i also found nothing specifically predictable about the young couple, it was kind just real? telling themselves they should never stop loving each other, saying they're on each other's side etc i feel that's something everyone hopes especially young couples, they're lost if they can't be together... actually yeongju saying she felt lonely without her dad's support was very heartwarming as you don't see that portrayed often... usually it's more along the lines of fuck everyone our love is enough... and that last scene with hyun and his dad...wow
i found that her being sick and having 'pains' was quite realistic too like the stress of everything and trying to hide it at first fucked up her health and with being pregnant i'm sure it was much worse, also she wasn't eating proper meals at the motel just things hyun bought from the convenience store so idk it was kinda logical to me
ah also the scene where seon ah said congratulations felt much less like adoration of 'the belly' to me and just as a sign of support? idk how to word it right? while the whole town was talking shiz about her being pregnant and after all her doubts she finally meets someone, a stranger, who congratulates her; another person is on her side, an adult,, someone who has no idea who she is, but it makes her a little less hopeless and more sure of herself
again i guess everyone has different taste, seeing as i personally rlly disliked eunhee and hansoo's storyline (i'm not one to enjoy cheating-esque stories)
i'm here two years later to give my two cents on this show. (disclaimer: i DID NOT watch everything, i dropped it after a couple of episodes and only watched ep 16 to see if it got any better) so: this was bad. i absolutely hated it, i know everything is subject to taste but this didn't deserve the hype it got way back when. people were protecting this show like their life depended on it and it rlly didn't deserve that... the plot was inconsistent and so were the characters, the show tried and failed MISERABLY at being inclusive, and yiseo was the most insufferable main character EVER; it's like they tried to make her a 'confident, open-minded' woman but instead we got a bossy, privileged, transphobe who can't mind her business and crosses peoples boundaries
had to force myself to finish this and it really wasn't that good. chanyoung was unbearable and a bad friend to joohee which i will not forgive cus she was my fav, and i wish she got more screentime!!!
watched the two first episodes and it's not bad but idk how they're gonna build enough material for 20 episodes bc right now i feel like it's going nowhere... also i dislike cha seungwon's character A LOT
although the second half of this was a bit underwhelming and that memory thing REALLY wasn't needed in the last episode the ending was so cute and comforting. i would def consider this one of if not the best bof adaptation for me!!
