i rlly enjoyed it but the ending was dissapointing, i was excpecting something bittersweet but having "seungcheon" survive by switching with a cameo guest character was stupid

watched 3 eps and i don't think this drama is for me, i've never been this bored... also this has been bothering me for a while but idk how jung jiso fit the casting criteria for her role it looks so awkward

i love a good revenge story, and while i'm def NOT on sunghoon's side on this... i think his 'i'm sorry' in court should've been left out and kind of the whole 'it got out of my control' thing too, bc it felt like he was denying responsibility.. i think it would've been more impactful for him to acknowledged everything and just reflect on where his revenge has led him. did he try and kill himself bc he couldn't live with the fact that he helped kill people? or bc he betrayed the people around him, whether it be yoon jae or sungjoon? or did his revenge not have the impact he wanted to? did it not help his with his hurt and anger? i'd have liked it if they showed those aspects more bc the sorry felt very insincere imo

i kinda wanna give props to the king, he actually cares abt his kids and isn't just a puppet to his mother and/or the councilors, also the fact that he's aware of how he came to be king and doesn't want the same thing to happen again!!!! i like him lol

actually, what is your point? if watching reruns is ok why is airing new shows not? everyone mourns in their own way and i doubt people who have lost loved ones care what is currently airing on tv.

i fear that kang haneul won't be able to save this drama for me, everything apart from the north-korea scenes felt like it came out of a badly written 100-episode family drama script...

the acting was stellar as expected from this cast ofc, pace could've been better and i had a hard time believing it was set in Suriname but it entertained me enough!!
