Ok, maybe he didn't shift into Cho Chung's body. But Cho Chung's body was shifted by Jang Gang according to Jin Mu toward the end of ep7. At that time who else could have performed AOS. Also if Jang Gang as Gwanju could have just taken the recorder plate. Why does Jang Gang tell Park Jin in a flashback that he snuck out the actual plate and switched it with a fake one? Why didn't he just order Cho Chung to switch the plate with a fake one? Now Jin Mu could be lying as he was their that day also, but if he shifted Cho Chung's body I don't think Jang Gang would have left him in charge. Early on in EP10 we see Jin Mu over looking the lake with Choi/Queen and it shows a flashback of Jang Gang crying over a dead petrified body that looks to be Cho Chung. Directly or indirectly, I think its pretty clear, unless Jin Mu is the one responsible. But right now everything points at Jang Gang and he is even trying to own it.

Jang Gang is responsible for the death of his friend Cho Chung’s and his entire family. It can be assumed that Jang Gang shifted into Cho Chung's body and as the recorder he stole the plate that recorded the birth of UK with the King's Star, which caused Cho Chung to later run wild after having his soul shifted and kill his entire family except his daughter. This is explains why Jang Gang is looking for the only remaining member, he is looking for the girl whose family he caused to be slaughtered, Cho Chung’s daughter, Cho Yeong also known as Naksu.

I agree with most of what you stated. I don't understand why people overlook the obvious fact the director is intentionally showing us Jin Ho-Gyeong glaring directly at Mudeok who can barely see as the Jin family crest glows behind her. Now whether Jin Ho-Gyeong accepts or rejects this is a different story. But notice the camera work the end of EP16 contrasting Jang Gang meeting his soul shifted born son UK and Jin Ho-Gyeong glaring at Mudeok/Naksu her soul shifted daughter. (I know her daughter's soul didn't shift). Is the director conveying the meeting of Father/Son and Mother/Daughter. Jin Ho-Gyeong just found her long lost daughter of 10 years but yet something about Mudeok strikes her soul at that moment, her facial expression changes from joy to confusion almost like she made a mistake, while Mudeok looking pitiful like a child who can barely see, clutching a pillow in the gaze of her mother. This was one of the most beautiful scenes for me because so much was said yet nothing was spoken. Maybe, we get a repeat of the slapping scene in Bu Yeon's room, where we again see the facial expression of Jin Ho-Gyeong change as she glares at Mudeok in the same manner before switching to an angry outburst. We can obviously see from the previews of the next ep, that Mudeok remains a maid and So-I becomes the fake Bu-Yeon. So the director is likely showing us Jin Ho-Gyeong's building suspension while building the suspense, that moment was not completely lost on her.

Has Bu Yeon trapped Naksu's soul and powers? Jin Cho-Yeon stated~ "A powerful Priestess can control people's souls and trap them to be helpless" "If the Priestess traps their powers, even the most powerful mage is helpless". Bu Yeon apparently has the power to trapped Naksu's soul and suppress her powers. Do you think this is the case?

Yes, After Bu Yeon seemingly prevented Gil Ju from swapping bodies with UK during AOS many have suspected as you stated that Bu Yeon choose Naksu and trapped her soul. This now seems confirmed after Jin Cho-Yeon stated that powerful Priestesses could control and trap souls. I don't think Bu Yeon did it because they were friends of some sort, ultimately I don't think Be Yeon's goal has been revealed, I think she is looking for something or she lost her memory, otherwise why hasn't she returned home.

Me either, but the best friend, master/servant, master/student dynamic does blend well with the awkward love story. If not for the overlapping relationship dynamics it would just feel like brother/sister relationship with a forced loved story.

I agree some people's theories are way behind in terms of things that are understood. It's almost like people are watching different shows.

Ok, guys somethings I noticed re-watching ep1 and ep2. Naksu's father ran wild but now we know he was a soul shifter. Could he still be alive in another body? And something really big that I think people over looked. Naksu's body could still be preserved. Re-watching ep2 there is a scene where another a dancer steals the spirit plaque that Mudoek was going to have her friend sell for her. We know the plan backfires in a good way because it results in the death of the dancer who stole the spirit plaque since Jin Mu's guys believe she is Naksu and they kill her. The director shows the body of the dancer being carried out over the shoulders of one of the goonies while everyone else shrieks in terror. The VERY next scene is guess what? The scene of Naksu's body being burnt publicly, or was it the body of the dancer wearing Naksu's clothes being burned publicly. I could be wrong, but I find it hard to believe the narration here is not intended. You see the body of the dancer being carried out then 30 seconds later you see a body appearing to be Naksu's being burned. I think Jin Mu has Naksu's body hidden somewhere as she was a powerful assassin. They took the body dancer's body and dressed her up as Naksu and burned that body. So it's possible for Naksu to get her body back, which makes sense because "Go Yoon-jung" is Naksu in season 2.

Didn't they do that in today's episode, there is a cut away shot that purposely shows that Jung So Min/Mudeok has the same scars and markings as Jin Bu Yeon. The directly is literally saying, by the way if you have any doubt this is Jin Bu Yeon.

I was feeling down today and I was able to binge watch these short eps and still be productive, made my day better. Xiening is so beautiful I couldn't stop watching.

LOL, stop it

It seems to be an average drama, the story kinda of drags. I'm only on ep9 just watching it when I get bored, maybe it will get more interesting for me. It's not bad just very simple and some of the plot doesn't really make sense. I don't really like stories with dumb characters and simple stories, so far the characters haven't been proven to be that dumb but the story is certainly simple.

Can someone explain to me the significance of the Wild Herb book which Matron Mang only completed half of and why this upsets Yuehua? This scene is in EP39 when Zijin visits Yuehua in jail and gives her the wild herb book. I understand Yuehua is upset with regret but I missed the significance of the wild herb book. I hate that such an amazing scene was lost on me because I missed this detail.

I just realized I have seen every drama that Xu Kai has played in except "Falling Into Your Smile."
