Title Our Blues
People were expecting a feel-good drama and something more similar to hometown Cha Cha Cha. But instead they found…
Honestly I'm loving the cinematography. I love the color palette they're using (for example during the scene at the beginning of the second episode with Lee Byung Hun) and some landscapes shots are so beautiful that I would leave everything right away and visit Jeju Island (if I had the money to do so ahah). I also love how it's being used to portray the characters feelings (like that shot from high above with Han Su in the water, it felt so depressing). But like I said, there's something, and I can't pinpoint what that it is yet, that makes it more realistic, and less dreamy and pretty, when you compare it to other dramas such as HCCC or 2521; maybe because it's less colorful and it uses less creative camera angles, but I find it fitting for the tone of this drama. I wouldn't change a thing honestly.

Yes, bittersweet is the right term to describe it

Looking at the ratings... should I start?
For me it's a yes, but it also depends on your tastes. This drama doesn't have a main couple, there are multiple mains so it may take a while to really get to know them deeply. It also isn't a fluffy and pretty drama, the characters are flawed and the drama so far doesn't have that warm feeling that other dramas seems to have, it's more realistic in my opinion

I kinda feel offended with this rating lol. I know rating drops and shii but I've never seen such good shows drop…
People were expecting a feel-good drama and something more similar to hometown Cha Cha Cha. But instead they found middle aged problematic characters who make bad decisions and throw a tantrum when things don't go the way they want, couples that aren't actually shippable (not yet at least), realistic cinematography which doesn't try to be excessively pretty and bloody toenails; and the drama also decide to focus on the least popular actors for the first two episodes (I bet everyone wanted to see more of Lee Byung Hun, Shin Min A and Woo Bin). Also the omnibus format that the writer took is a very bold decision in my opinion because generally people are more used to having one or two main characters that can give a clear direction to the story even when the drama is character-driven and doesn't have a strong plot, while this omnibus format can be a bit dispersive and make you feel like the drama is a bit directionless. I'm not criticizing, it's just what I've understood after reading the criticisms here and there, but I'm actually loving this drama for the same reasons that are seemingly controversial.

Yes! The music's choice is one of the reasons why I'm enjoying it so much

Actually whats wrong with the drama? The rating dropped seriously from 8.1 to 7.1 in one day.
Simply this drama isn't what everyone was expecting. I'm personally loving it more than I expected, but to each their own

I don't know why, but I really loved the scene at the karaoke. Also that part where Han su and Eun Hee go to the beach "back then I wasn't lame and exhausted with life as I am now, right?". It may be an unpopular opinion but I'm loving all the characters so far and how realistic this drama feels. It's honestly better than I expected.

Honestly, I like Mi Jeong the least out of the siblings, which I didn’t expect at all at the beginning since…
I actually really like her because her thoughts are quite relatable at times (not always thankfully) and I don't think she lacks charm, it's just that she is supposed to be quiet and plain looking. But I agree with you on the fact that introversion doesn't make you like this, depression does. She even says it herself: she's exhausted and everything feels like work to her. These are the kind of feelings you get when you're depressed. And I think that she's great at portraying someone who is struggling.

Ikr..its not even that bad people just cant digest flawed characters in kdramas literally its not even that bad..i…
If someone prefers wholesome characters then I respect that, but I agree with you: having flawed characters not only makes the story more realistic, but it also makes the journey and a potential happy ending even more satisfying because those are people you can actually relate to and who went through some growth that can be inspirational to some.

I have to admit that the 7.2 hurts my soul a little. I mean, even though I respect other people's opinion, even the most mediocre dramas can often get a 7.5 or above here on MDL. No matter how you see it, it's just too harsh. But I'm hopeful that the ratings will improve with time.

This always happens with dramas on air though. If the drama is good it’ll bounce back!
Exactly, I've seen some dramas going from an 8.2/8.3 to an 8.7 in a few days after they finished airing

I think Netflix has only the rights for international distribution, but I might be wrong. From what I know they're both 100% Tvn

Ratings really dropped to 7.2 with just 2eps😬 people judging a 20eps drama with just 2eps…
As much as I'm liking this drama and I want it to have good ratings, rating the first episodes is legit since MDL gives this possibilty, otherwise all the currently airing dramas should have no rating until they're done releasing the episodes.

Me: finished watching ep8Also me: give steady final rating (despite almost to end) perfect 10Never regret
I gave it 10 stars after the first two episodes (which is a first for me because I usually start with slightly lower ratings and then I give a 10 toward the end when I really love a drama), never regretted it so far 😂. Let's pray that the ending doesn't dissapoint

Thank you!

Yes, can't wait for the full soundtrack to be realesed. I actually managed to find all songs for the first six episodes thanks to Shazam and I've been listening to them over and over again since the drama started ahah (especially the one from episode 3 and 6, I love that song so much)
