The way they portrayed depression with that bit about Min Seon Ah is the reason why I'm enjoying this drama so much: the moment in which she looks outside and realize how much time has passed is just so painful, there's no need for dialogues that makes you empathize for the character, the editing alone is enough.
DAMN EP10 WAS EVERYTHING AND KYUNG MIN KNOWS THAT IT WAS JONG SUK WHO KILLED CHEOLIE BUT HE STILL BLAMED PARK…
I really want to know what are Kyun Min's plans for Jong Suk. On one hand it seems like he wants Jong Suk to suffer, or at least to take responsibility for what he's done, on the other hand he looked sincere when he told him that he was his only friend and that they should do it together. At this point I'm kinda thinking that he wasn't referring to the murderers when he said that, but that maybe Kyung Min imagined that they would kill themselves like Cheolie was planning to do, that's why he left the diary and wants it published.
Choi Han Soo will not appear again?I don't understand how this drama works :(
We don't know that (at least I don't, maybe there's someone here more informed than me with the behind the scenes). Anyway, this drama is basically an ensemble cast where everyone is the main character and no one is (like real life basically ahah, you know the concept "you're a supporting character in someone's else story?" That's this drama in a nutshell). It's divided in chapters: the first three episodes were Han Soo and Eun Hee's chapter and now it's over, so it's now the turn for other characters to get the spotlight. What I like is that we get hints of the characters lives even in the chapters that aren't dedicated to them
Episode 10 was crazy! Even though I saw it coming because they've been hinting at it for four episodes, that moment…
Some more spoilerish thoughts: it was so sad seeing Cheolie realize that what truly matters in life isn't being the strongest, but it was too late: he had already started walking a dark road. The fact that Kyung Min and Jong Suk both put him on a pedestal and worshipped him like a god, even accepting him sacrificing himself as if he was Jesus goes to show how deeply broken and mentally scarred they all were; like, I hate Park Chan Young as much as anyone else for being a traitor, a coward and a bloodthirsty murderer, and I think that his death was by far the most deserved (the moment in which Kyung Min saw his true nature at the cinema was perfection by the way, kudos to the director for always impressing me), but the dude had a point: they turned him into a hero and that played a big part in Cheolie's death because they should have stopped him, and instead one of them literally murdered him and the other one just accepted it until it was too late.
Episode 10 was crazy! Even though I saw it coming because they've been hinting at it for four episodes, that moment still hit me like a truck (if you watched the episode you know what I'm talking about). The moment they took the picture together I started crying and I don't think I've stopped until the episode was over. Choi Hyun Jin (the child who plays Kim Chul) has a bright future ahead of him, he was amazing in this episode. Can't believe this is already ending, I'm gonna miss this drama so much once it's over. And by the teaser released for the last two episodes it seems like this drama will inevitably break me.
"I openly say now, Our Blue has nothing extraordinary in it, it is just a plain drama with the effort of great…
Indeed, it wasn't rude at all and I respect your opinion, all I'm saying is that it's not mandatory to make a comparison between those two dramas, especially since they're both underated. You can praise one without bringing the other one down. So you can just say what you love about MLN without mentioning Our Blues, and viceversa.
"I openly say now, Our Blue has nothing extraordinary in it, it is just a plain drama with the effort of great…
Thank you! Seriously, I don't get the problem in admitting that they're both amazing dramas for different reasons. For example Our Blues type of writing resonates with me more, but I still think that MLN is a gem and just as good. I don't understand the need to turn everything into a competition 😂
I think at the end both of them will die :/ Definitely not a happy ending imo
Since I have zero impulse control and I follow Tving on Twitter, I've already watched the teaser for the final episodes and I think you're correct, I can't see it having an happy ending. I think we're going to cry a lot
Outside of being filmed at the beach this show has little in come with hometown to be honest. Hometown addressed…
I think that someone should put what you said about "not all the couples being shown are necessarily romantic" in the description as a warning, because a lot of the complaints I've been reading are about the characters lacking chemistry and people blaming it on the actors, the writing or the director when really the truth is that they're not supposed to have chemistry in the first place because this isn't a romance drama, they aren't supposed to be shippable since this isn't the point of the story.
The third episode was a little gem in my opinion, the perfect way to end Han Soo and Eun Hee's storyline. It was so bittersweet, but each word felt meaningful. I like how Han Soo got called out on his mistakes, but he also had the chance to redeem himself and walk toward his happiness as a better man. In this drama the characters aren't simply black or white. Next episode will finally be Young Ok's storyline (I love her already), I can't wait to find out what she's hiding. I think she will also be a very complex and divisive character like Han Soo.
I love those moments in which Mi Jung and Mr. Gu are simply walking past each other and walking alongside each other. It portrays perfectly the changes in their relationship as they get closer while also keeping their distance (mostly because of him).
is the drama heavy?? can u state some kdramas that are as heavy as this one or similar
Yes, it's quite heavy. It doesn't use censorship for the most violent scenes (so be warned because it is a bit gore-y at times, not in every episode though) and there are a lot of scenes focused on bullying too. The general tone of the drama is also heavy as well with basically no comic relief or lighter scenes, it's pretty much focused on the main plot. As for something similar maybe Strangers from Hell or Mouse? These are probably the closest ones.
i don’t like school bullying things, but i always impressed with Kim Dong wook acting… he’s such a really…
Kim Dong Wook is really good here. The more I rewatch his scenes, the more I realize how much he's acting through his eyes only and microexpressions and yet he still manages to portray Kyung Min as multi layered character with deep feelings. I'm impressed.
Now we have them all ahah <3
