Are the hate comments for fl real? At the very least, she didn't throw her best friend from the roof, and didn't…
I agree with those saying that she was the weakest part of the drama because there wasn't much for her to do (nor it was possible for her to have a big development, given the focus of the story) and this wasn't a police drama, so her investigation wasn't treated with the same care as the rest of the drama. But I also agree with you on the fact that she was just doing her job and she shouldn't be called annoying for it, nor did she made any major mistakes since she had to deal with the situation on her own (the rest of the police's team was clearly biased toward their "brother" and she couldn't just throw accusations that could have alienated her even more from the team or gotten her out of the case) and her hands were tied due to lack of evidences. She seemed competent enough to me.

Title Hope or Dope Spoiler
Iโ€™m on episode six but Iโ€™m kinda bored anyone wanna spoil it for me?
In my opinion it stays like that for the whole drama (at least up till episode 9, I don't know if there's a big twist in the last episode, and at this point I don't think I would even care): crazy mother is looking for her daughter, then she finds her at the end of episode 8, nothing too big happens, they have a fight (but it was underwhelming imo) then the mother gets arrested. There isn't much focus on the conflict between the mother and daughter or on the moral implications of selling weed, or on the weed itself anyway, the writers decided instead to focus on the two leads bonding for some reason. Honestly I felt bored just like you during the middle and it didn't change at all.

Why the counting is from 28th?๐Ÿค” It's not going to released on April 29?
Maybe it's because South Korea has a different time zone

I am at the episode 10 right now and it just broke my heart :(This is the first drama where i was praying for…
Yes, I also think the ratings aren't doing it any justice. It's like Lost all over again where the drama easily deserves a 9, but is stuck with a rating that is lower than an 8.5; I think it may be due to a lack of hype.

So, this drama replaces King of Pigs' timeslot (same day)? But simultaneously... I miss that drama that I bawl…
Same, I have very high expectations for this one and for Rose Mansion after watching that masterpiece that still has me crying ahah. I hope that they will be amazing and that Tving will officially replace OCN (rather dissapointed with them lately) at being the best in making thrillers ๐Ÿ˜‚

Not Tving posting a music video about The King of Pigs on their channel with Miserere used as the main song. They really don't want us to recover from the ending

Great and detailed review :)Personally, the reason why I can't see the female detective part of the plot as minor…
Thank you!

Ah yes, I agree. She was not needed, honestly a part of me thinks that they added her because otherwise it would have been an all male show which might have been a little off putting๐Ÿ˜‚.

Anyway it didn't end up bothering me as much as I thought it would, but I can totally see why you think that way, you make a good point!

Since we're talking about the adaption (which I haven't seen yet, but I've read some comments about it) there's something I thought it might be interesting to add because I would have never guessed it: even the part about Kyung Min's revenge was a drama original part, and Jong Suk being a policeman too. It seems strange to think about it because it's so important in the drama. I wish they could have made Jin Ah as interesting as those storylines ahaha

Title The King of Pigs Spoiler
But at least Cheol's mother now knows the truth
I totally agree on what you just said, every part of it. I also can't fully justify Jong Suk and I'm glad he died in the end. But the more you think about it the more difficult it becomes to find a straight answer (and this is why I love this drama so much). I think that at a certain point Jong Suk himself didn't know what he was living for that he had to survive at all costs, even if it meant killing his friends. I guess it was the survival instinct of someone who has been a victim of violence for too long. But his life was so empty: he didn't consider the policemen that cared about him as his friends, he was living alone and seemed unhappy from the beginning, he was living a dream that wasn't his own, he never tried to reunite with the friend he cherished. Why was he living? I think those things crossed his mind too as he got closer to the ending and this is why he went all cray cray.

Don't get me wrong, I was still so damn angry at him especially in the last two episodes when he tried to kill Kyung Min and almost killed the niece of Kyung Min's accomplice who was the most innocent character in the whole drama. But in the end, when he had another chance to kill Kyung Min and strangle him to death, he didn't do it and I like to believe that he chose to die when he let go of his grip because he realized what a monster he had become. I think that he acted the way he did because he couldn't face his guilt, until the end when he had that confrontation with Kyung Min.

Title The King of Pigs Spoiler
But at least Cheol's mother now knows the truth
Oh, I know that, her story is heartbreaking. But I think that Jin Ah left her with a choice. She could have spoke up against Jong Suk, but she probably didn't because she realized how broken that boy was as a victim of bullying himself. In a situation like that it's so difficult finding a culprit: they were children who went through hell, no matter how you look at it it's a tragedy. Honestly if I was in her shoes I really don't know how I would have felt. Anyway, wasn't that part about Jong Suk pushing Cheolie in the book "The King of Pigs" written by Kyung Min as well? This means that the public should know about what Jong Suk had done, unless the reporter avoided mentioning him in his article, and maybe not all them share the same sentiment as the police. This is something I was wondering too.

Kyung Min wanted to commit suicide to make it real and not acted, but Cheol did die for real, so why did they…
I think there are two reasons: main reason is that Kyung Min just didn't want to live anymore because he had nothing left and he wanted to take Jong Suk with him because it was his justice. Jong Suk also couldn't handle the guilt anymore after that confrontation with Kyung Min. Second reason is that even after Cheol's death the perpetrators still didn't repent, but it will be impossible to ignore Kyung Min's case after everything he did by killing the main bullies and exposing the violences at school. The suicide was just the end of the final act he planned, to make it truly unforgettable and impossible to ignore for everyone.

Holy Shit!!! Although I was hoping for same ending but considering Korean drama trends and their inclination towards…
Yes! I was worried as well because most of the time the writers go out of their way to give the drama an happy ending. But here the writer gave it the ending it deserved, very well done.

Title The King of Pigs Spoiler
I really agree with those who say that this deserves a 9 by mdl's standards. For me it was truly a masterpiece,…
I'm so glad this had a very fitting ending that wasn't rushed and was coherent with what had always been. It was a bold ending by Korean's drama standards because most of the times, no matter how sad the story gets, the ending will be happy, even if that means forcing it into the story. But this drama went for a truly bleak ending and it wasn't afraid to show its characters in a bad light. I also appreciate that the story didn't have an overkill of melos, cliches, plot twists, red herrings and cliffhangers that can get repetitive. It stayed faithful until the end to the story it wanted to tell without trying to impress the audience with unnecessary tricks. I really can't praise it enough. Okay, now I'll go back to crying about this ending because it broke me (let's go meet Cheolie ๐Ÿ’”).

I really agree with those who say that this deserves a 9 by mdl's standards. For me it was truly a masterpiece, as close as possible to being flawless (yes, I know it had some smaller flaws, but I have yet to watch a show that doesn't have any honestly); not only my favourite asian drama, but also in my top 5 favorite shows from any country. It's been a while since I felt this way about a tv show. But I have a feeling that this will stay underated and we should be grateful if it manages to reach an 8.6/8.7 because unfortunately it didn't get much hype :/

I was just thinking to myself how it's the only tv show I've watched that made me feel as excited and emotional as Breaking Bad and The Leftovers (there are other that came close though) and then I saw your comment and I related so much ahahah

The writer really knows how to end an episode with a bang. I cried along with Yeong Ju. I can't even imagine how painful it must have been.
