watched first 5 eps but I find it somewhat dull/boring? and fl a tad annoying lol. See a lot of positive comments,…
I would say that yes, you will see more friendship from the leads in the following episodes, but it will be a slowburn. As for wether you will like it or not I have no idea honestly; if it can help the first half is more procedural with more self contained stories while in the second half they go deeper with the characters development and the main plot.
This was shown at Cannes?Really?Koreans have set a very high standard with their movie and dramas, but if this…
I think it may be part of the focus on South Korea led by Hwang Dong Hyuk (so maybe he was the one who suggested it? Idk). Other than Monstrous there are also "Work Later, Drink Now" and "Damn Good Company". I also haven't understood if they will screen only the first episode, that one was good at least.
It's an average drama, though it did not live upto my expectations. The human psychology in crisis was illustrated…
I agree with everything. It was decent, but my expectations were high so I ended up disliking it because I felt like they wasted an unique premise in favor of an average zombie drama.
I still have to watch the last episode, but I'm so happy that this was renewed for a second season! Even though I had no doubt about it because Apple tv doesn't let ratings get in the way of a good drama. I hope they take their time to make another great season.
Bro y is everyone exaggerating abt this drama ๐ฌ๐ฌ
I don't think it's a matter of how many thrillers you watched; like, I watched tons of them (just like most people here from what I've seen), be it western dramas/movies or asian dramas/movies and I still don't regret giving this drama a full 10 since it managed to make a huge impact on me and the overall quality was high in terms of writing, acting, editing, cinematography and directing. Of course I can also see why other people may not agree with me and I have no problem with it, I'm just saying that the praisings aren't baseless either. I guess it's a matter of having different tastes/expectations.
I just checked his page here and if I understood correctly he wasn't the screenwriter for Hellbound, he was the writer of the webtoon which the drama was based on, while for Monstrous he was the one who wrote the script. He was the screenwriter for the drama The Cursed too, but I never watched that one. And well, he was also the director and screenwriter for Train to Busan, so we were all hoping that he would go back to his past glory with this one, but eh, I guess not.
Yes, hellbound was a mess, I agree. I wouldn't say Monstrous was terrible, it's just that it feels like Train To Busan 2.0 (but not as good). The whole premise was so fresh and interesting: archeologists, cursed Buddha statue, occult, psychological horror. But the execution feels like your typical zombie drama and there are so many characters that none of them is properly developed in my opinion, so I couldn't care less about what happened to them. Hellbound was really a mess in terms of storytelling, but at least it stayed more faithful to its premise. But anyway, I would say watch it because it's short, you may end up liking it more than me; the first two episodes and the cinematography were really good.
Bleak cinematography, lots of blood, creepy atmosphere and zombies (or sort of) with weapons.(I'm putting a spoiler tag just to be sure). EDIT: second half wasn't as dark as the first in my opinion.
Ouch, that hurts ๐ญ. I'll be starting the first episode now, I guess I'll lower my expectations and see if I can at least enjoy it as a fun binge with a creepy atmosphere. I'm already dissapointed, so it can't get worse than this, right? ๐ฅฒ
Oh, I see. I kinda feared that it would have an open ending for a second season due to only having six episodes (and they're quite short as well), let's hope that it won't take too long at least. Aside from that, would you say it was good? I couldn't wait, so I checked on Naver and I've seen it had mixed reactions, which had me worried a little because I have huge expectations about it.
since this is an anthology, do I necessarily have to watch the whole show or can I just jump over episodes?
At the beginning I would have said yes, but after watching episode 5 and 6 and the preview for the next episode I don't think it's that recommendable, unless you're not interested in the show itself, but just in some of the actors. While each episode is dedicated on a different pair of characters, the other characters still make an appearance in episodes that aren't focused on them, but those small appearances still gives the show a continuity that will probably have consequences. To sum it up: you can jump over the episodes, but you will miss some important bits that may be referenced.
You don't have to be so aggressive, lol. I think its mostly the second half, which obviously was extremely dragged…
But why if someone doesn't like something then that has to mean that they watched it superficially and didn't understand half of the story? They even said they liked Beyond Evil. I also really liked it, but I can't deny that the second half wasn't as polished as the first one and went with a bit of on overkill with all the plot twists, red herrings and cliffhangers that were often reversed in the following episode, which can in fact make it seem dragged out. It's still one of the best thrillers out there, but there are some flaws that some people are willing to get past while others can't (doesn't mean they don't like it, no need to get too defensive), neither are wrong.
That was just a guess from the police, he never actually stated that he would kill 31 people (and let's be realistic, it wasn't even possible with 12 episodes, that was the first thing I thought ๐). I don't know if you watched the last three episodes, but for me those were the bests and they actually explain Kyung Min's motivations and his plan.
I also agree. I mean, I should first mention that I don't believe that anything such as the "best show/movie ever made" can exist: there are just top tier ones and then it's up to each person's taste to decide what's the "best", but for me The King of Pigs (for thrillers) and Lost (for slice of life) are what I consider the best Kdramas.
EDIT: second half wasn't as dark as the first in my opinion.
