Im afraid the reviews on every platform are overselling this.. I expected something spectacular, but it's just fine, it's not bad but it's decent. the concept is great tho. the execution could be better. I just finished episode 8 so I'm halfway through, does it get better?

dropped after 6 episodes. characters are so boring i just couldn't care less about what happens to any of them. I thought it was gonna be super intense and morally challenging from everyone's comments on the toxicity, but literally not a single character is interesting enough to justify the obsession over them, least of all woojae, (Kim jaeyoung is so pretty) but woojae is so bland and dumb and uncompelling so it took me out of the whole "everyone is obsessed with him" thing

it's just his fans trying to desperately prove that he's a good actor. he's not. even in the episodes where he had relatively more screentime. he's extremely gorgeous, and that's about his entire claim to screen presence. he's so robotic and boring he genuinely looks like he's never experienced an emotion in his life.

thank you. i didn't expect the backstory to last this long, but yeah I assumed that he won't be here until we get to present day

I feel like he's a major d-bag in his own way, we just don't know him well enough yet

love the story direction and everything about moon dong eun's journey, but I have to say I'm very surprised at how little lee dohyun has to do. I thought his character would be a bigger deal or maybe he has a bigger part to play in part 2. also, his character is as extra in the romance department as his character in melancholia it's so funny, he always be doing the most.

Episode 2: can someone please explain to me the thing with assembling the shredded papers? who's Kim shintae and Jo so Hyeon? it's the first time those names are being mentioned, right? or did I miss something?

i looove the show so far and I'm a huge fan of Choi minshik, but i can't help but wonder when the hell is son sukku supposed to get here ?

same, i really loved the first 3 or 4 episodes, i was very intrigued, especially that I love chaebol and political conflict stories. but the execution to me stripped away all the excitement and intrigue, the script is just a string of neverending clunky exposition, characterization is so weird i felt no emotional connection (except the grandpa who was the only fully fledged character), the rest of the family are all caricatures of characters we've seen a million times. and i can't even begin to tell you about SJK's performance, I'm a huge fan of him, but his performance in this infuriated me, i don't understand what he was doing for 16 episodes with that pout and baby voice. overall, the potential was there, the premise and themes are amazing, but the execution is insanely overrated i couldn't actually believe the high ratings. I come back here every week to check if people are as ??? as I am

No it wasn't, because i was asking myself the same question by the end. they sort of just brushed off that whole plot

This part is sooo much better than the first one. The plot felt so unique, they managed to make the remake their own, which was the missing factor from the first part.
