I think it is to do with censorship in China. Bed scenes like that is almost a no no so the fact we got what we…
That goes beyond censorship though because in C-Dramas they keep things pretty clean even with the intimacy parts. Unlike some K-Dramas I've seen. ha It's like the Chinese govt. doesn't want to accept that people are human and show passion. smh Too many dramas have the couple just hug and no kissing. lol NOT realistic. And MY opinion, if it's due to the Lead being married or whatever, then DON'T do romance dramas. Allen Ren makes me crazy with him being so vanilla in his romance scenes. sigh

Yes yes yes I strongly agree. The person who decided to cut those parts did SAL so dirty
If they had kept the consummation scene in there, well as far as they could go anyway, it would have ranked far higher than 8.5. Sometimes directors make the dumbest decisions. Hopefully though, this director, or a similar director who's not afraid of hot scenes, will collab with the two of them in a costume drama. But we all seem to scream for more intimacy in dramas, so they need to listen to us. LOL

Gosh, aren't they just beautiful. May the universe (cdrama directors) bless us with a Heyu + Esther costume drama…
Right? I've been posting that over and over again. But right now, I can't wait for Blossoms of Power. I wonder if there will be the same chemistry with the FL as with XinXin? Somehow I doubt it unless the director has He Yu put on the sex appeal heat! lol

Here's the few links for the drone show guys :- ( in case you couldn't watch the LIVE )1. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTVdMSmgOt0/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==…
I need to bother you for a bit with some questions. First of all, being an American, I've never known anything like that show of Esther Yu's, being done here in the United States, by anyone. It was spectacular. The last one was amazing with the crowd all saying the same thing in a huge chorus. 1. Why did Esther Yu do this? 2. It was really 3,000 drones she used? 3. What was the crowd yelling in the 3rd reel? Thank you for your assistance.

The plot is simple nothing is hard to understand, the cut scenes may have confused some people but it's not even…
It wasn't confusing at all. I loved every episode and every scene and it made sense. And from the beginning, it was understood that he was adopted. Just a little background on me; after 5 years of being C-Drama obsessed, I am sorta burning out and taking a break, but because of Esther Yu, I had to watch SAL. And it hooked me from Ep 1 and I thought it was heat off the charts, which I love and the characters and the whole bad boy good girl trope and the racing and well everything except for the consummation didn't follow the heat/chemistry index they had throughout. Oh well. What I'm saying is, without my waning interest lately in the dramas, I ate this drama up and want to see a costume collab with them in the same serious vein as Journey to You. Anyway, I totally agree with you.

The only complaint I have, is with all the heat that came from this drama, episode after episode, the director for whatever reason, downplayed the consummation. It could have heated up a notch or two if they had just had him lay her on the bed, he takes his shirt off, it gets heated and then pans away to the next morning. But nooooo, we were deprived of that one scene that would have brought the index up even higher. lol Anyway, that's my opinion. For what it's worth. ha

This drama’s cinematography seems like something shot a long time ago. Feels like 2010s or so.

I DON'T agree that she's substandard you're just hating on her too much. But hell an opinion is an opinion.
That's fair. An FYI, the further I go the better I feel. I think what I'm coming to the realization is that the drama itself is the same trope that we have seen tons of times and it's getting boring to me. I'm even lackluster about SWL whom I love. sigh... I guess dramas aren't what they used to be for me. Thank you for your respect.

"an opinion is an opinion" so why is everybody blowing all of this out of proportion? It's becoming quite tedious. I don't like her acting in this drama.... I have the freedom of speech on my side and I never dissed her physical appearance. so let's end this long drawn out story. Respect.

No offense to other actors, but ZJM is literally outacting everyone in this drama 😭 Like, she’s basically…
I appreciate that. I just wish human beings are allowed to critique without being called a hater. It's two totally different things.

Sure, it's not super exciting, but I really enjoy watching them fall in love. Very therapeutic
Right. It's the same trope as hundreds of others.

song wei long and zhao jin mai both perfect for their roles is the only opinion i accept. your opinion very much…
Again, like I've commented on other posters using the term "haters, hating, hatred", it's being misused compared to opinions or critiquing. Different.

Hating? or simply a critique on her acting. This gen needs to understand and respect the difference.

And now we have haters.
Whenever someone has a difference of opinion regarding just about anything in the world today, it's called hating. Whatever happened to critics in the entertainment industry? The term "haters" is a flaw that is totally different than voicing an opinion or critiquing. (I commented on her acting, not her body type or her looks or her hair, and so on and so on). But thank you.

Excuse Me!!!! Zhao Jinmai is carrying this drama, and her acting skills is far superior than Song Wei Long. Song…
Fair, but if he would be given better roles maybe he can show his skills. Such as in The Bionic Life, Find Yourself, Go Ahead, and Everlasting Longing. Too many times, good actors are stereotyped and given the same characters by their companies/management. Then they start to disappear such as Xing Zhao Lin did. As for Angel Zhou, to me, she is annoying in this role and maybe it's the directing, but right now, she's not all that. I am on Ep 10, so I will give it some time. Thx for your considerate reply.

Song Wei Long is too good of an actor to play opposite this substandard actress. Her acting is stilted and annoying. Not worthy of the others that far surpass her in delivery, acting, and emotion.
