3 friends daeyong, jeongha, minji here goes daeyong confessed to jeongha but got turned down because he didn’t…
I didn't feel bad for Minji, there where so many comments that she made right from the start "you two should date" "he's into someone else" "He doesn't see me as a women"
The character new her friend wasn't into women and probably she knew he confessed and got rejected (my inference). That when she took her "chance" as she was "greedy" for him to be with her. It wasn't going to end well for her from the start.
If anyone has time, could you please go to the edit my page (on the right hand side of the title) and click to edit the tags.
Then select the add tags, sexual assault, child prostitution, violence and abusive boss. Plus any others that you may think are suitable.
As this show has some very dark and graphic scenes. I think that the story is well told. But I may have not started watching if I new about the child prostitution and abuse beforehand.
***EDIT*** Apparently I did not upload my tag request properly with example images. I have now put all of them and what tag IMO they fall under just from epsiode 4 into one google drive folder. If anyone wants to use them to request a tag change. Feel free.
Also if you just want to see how dark and graphic the series gets, you are more than welcome to have a look at the screenshots also with the link.
it was great because God was unaware of actually how big it was and probably thought it was a little house spider only a few centimeters across. I really would like to see his face when he see's the real size to understand Diews panic.
She's still his inspiration and, as he says, his family. If she's like deathly allergic, even bringing them into…
She cant be deathly allergic, because she ordered takeaway food that had it as a main ingredient. ONLY then for him to pick it out for her, because she likes it that way.
So thats not really how an allergy works. Even as an intolerance you can't get all the little bits out once it's mixed into a rice dish. So weird AF writing.
Kluea is the worst type of character. First he tries to kiss someone who's passed out (pretending aside) then…
you forgot that he also called the ex-girlfriend to come back and cause trouble. And also stirred up some other troubles to get Plawan to spend time with him.
Here's the thing tho... I'm "curious" how "explicit" the scenes are going to be, since they have uncut version.…
I already wrote about the child protection act of Thailand in relationship to this specific show and it has sections in their that would see this pairing as unlawful. Even is consent has been given by the child actors parents to appear in this series.
My opinion has nothing to do with the tv series writing or the quality of the actors.
Just the very controversial decision of the director, production company and casting agent to choose a 15/16 yr old and placed them with someone who is 12 years older and to have intimate scenes. By casting a child minor in this role, they would have needed a whole heap of permissions. And my question is why wasn't a more suitable pairing found? It puts up questions for me around the people making the series and their intentions.
Another post about age of actors and I will kill myself. Please people stop this bullshit and enjoy the show.…
Yes he is. 16 is a minor, a child, a young person by literal definition. Of the Laws in Thailand and most other countries, And they cannot consent for themselves to do this type of work and needs their parents permission.
I don't know about you BUT an adult does not by law need their parents permission to work or undertake personal activities. Like he would still need his parents permission to go on school camp, to get an international passport or even to go indoor rock climbing. So not an adult.
but what has August done he got the part and so did mac if mac thought it was not appropriate to act with August…
Yes, I agree that all of your concerns around this are quite valid.
I will do a bit more research into BL production in Thailand with minors. From memory they have made a few series/movies dealing with this issue also. And from my perspective awareness is everything.
My point on Pedophilia was not directed at your comment but at the many other comments I had already seen incorrectly calling this age difference that. The work relationship is not that but I just don't have the right label for it. Perhaps its simple enough to say that it is a Red Flag in terms of working relationship or partnership.
Also that if this is and 18+ series, in my opinion, then the actors should be of that age or older. I agree that it is very weird of a production company to choose and actor to act 2 years older and then possibly another 10 years older if they complete the second novel. There are usually child protection laws in place stating the hours a minor can work per day/week and the conditions but we all now that they usually aren't upheld. Which means that as you have mentioned other unsavory things can happen also .
So I just read through the Thailand Child protection act (2003) and a case could be made if their are NC scenes that section 26 may have been violated. Even if consent of the underage actor was given. Because even at 15 his consent under law is not always consider consent because he is a minor and may not always making decisions in his best interest. Especially when influenced by money, family and future job opportunities etc.
After leaving my previous comment I saw that there was a new trailer and it looks like the series will stick with the NC elements in the novel. Which i guess means that I might just skip this series. As even though I enjoyed Addicted the original Chinese actors were like 21 & 23 and Stay with Me 22 & 25... not 16 and 29.
but what has August done he got the part and so did mac if mac thought it was not appropriate to act with August…
mmmm, there is so much going on in the comments about this issue. But i see what you are saying.
I just want to add that Jeff was 27 and barcode 18 for KinnPorsrche and their scenes were very tame and pg. Nine years is a lot but an 18 year old brain is more developed than at 16.
For a 16 year old to be partnered in a series with someone who is 11 years older, that is all about two adolescent boys developing feelings for each other. Especially when one is way more proactive with the touching and pushing the line. I can see where this is may not be appropriate for the director and the casting agents to have chosen either one or both of these actors (it is not a reflection on their capacity as actors or there potential on screen chemistry, they have both been acting for over 10years)
But on the fact that the characters in the novel are of a similar age and develop intimate sexual feelings for each other. And then act on those feelings.
Plus to all the people saying that this is pedophilia, please look up the definition. As this is relates to children pre puberty 13 years and under.
Secondly the laws of Thailand, are much more detailed than just being 15 to be able to give consent. They also have many other rules around this similar to Australia where if you are under 18 the age gap should not be more than 2 years. But there is also rules around parental consent. So just giving generalizations wont work because this series is not real life and is a TV series with actors, so it is more than likely that the producers have done their due diligence and gotten everything with the actors ages signed off on. And as other have mentioned tones of people are in the room working as they act out the scenes. So it is their job.
But if you don't like it. The best place to complain is to the production company and to the Thai government.
I haven't made up my mind as i have not seen the series. If it's pg 13 then its a storm in a teacup really. But if there is NC then that's a whole other situation. As I want the NC version true to the novel (I feel that this novel is really cursed in many ways), but I don't think that I want it while watching a 16 year old play 18 with a 27 year old playing 18 either.
I guess I'll be keeping and eye on the comments to see how it goes.
Oh and lastly to the person who said that 'Pop' should have been call 'In' Making again the famous name Hero-in, would have been perfect and thats what i'll read in my head if i do go ahead and watch.
Spoiler question for anyone that read the novel. Does Tong’s storyline ending differ from the series, and if…
Yes, Ming ruins him and his family (Tongs father). Well technically they did it to themselves but he makes sure that the police are involved and they are properly punished.
Okay... Watch the original trailer all the way to the end. the last scene especially. How did I not remember the clues already given. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lzKraOt4dk
They have made changes. And a lot more is explained in the novel. Like everyone's ages. There is just more story to be involved with. This series could easily have been longer. 14/16eps
And it has 2 chapters dedicated to Mings POV of certain incidents. Whilst Joes inner thoughts are common in the novel, they also include Mings in sections so you can get a better insight into the person he is. And what Joe is also thinking. Especially with Mings hatred of Sol. Joe really doesn't put his foot down and lies to Ming about how much Sol is hitting on him. So Ming is correct to think that Sol is a POS and be insecure about the time they spend together. Joe is not as nice in the novel when you hear his inner thoughts.
Also after Joes death the novel gradually shows the effect that this had on Ming and how his upbringing affected how he interacts with others.
Lastly there is so much more NC content. (NC= Not-suitable 4 children)
And the dialogue of the Monk at the end. Joe was making his decision and about to... BUT then the Monk like a…
Monk: "aren't you tired of living a life as a stand-in for someone else?" Joe: Flashbacks of stuff that only served to push Joes insecurities, even though Mng had slowly been proving his love for Joe.
Urgh. I don't have a problem that they changed things up from the novel. But this is just ... I'm not sure how I feel about this episode. As in the novel these chapters focused on how abusive Mings parents where and how after his house arrest his dad beat him so bad he ended up in hospital. Then it lead to his grandfather getting involved and everyone leaving them alone.
But Joe being taken instead of Tong, just didn't make any sense as he despises Tong. Tong is a POS and everyone agrees. Plus criminals normally flee when they hear police sirens, not wait around yelling shooting and then going to shoot some more. How did he even get to be the leader of his gang if he isn't even smart enough to flee???
Ming's brother: This is the first time he directly told our dad he's dating youAlso Ming's brother: Ming will…
And the dialogue of the Monk at the end. Joe was making his decision and about to... BUT then the Monk like a stupid game show host was( Spolier below)
Ming was always very lovely to OG Joe except for the occasions when Tong was involved. It was when his name was…
I can't disagree with what you are saying.
The only thing is we wouldn't have a story if Joe and Ming didn't become completely entangle with each other again. The writer just kept piling it on Joe. He really had no chance to start over at all. And Ming was being lead by his desperation to not have caused Joe's death, the spiritual guide giving him hope. Which didn't give Ming a chance to become accountable for his actions. I guess the writer would do anything to show they are fated to be together and repeat the cycle.
That’s a smart move…I read the book and couldn’t resist the temptation and started to binge watch it after…
I couldn't agree more. <3
I felt that if you knew a bit about Psychology, behaviour and how the brain develops over these late teenage - early 20's Mings character becomes more understandable. Not excusable. I've done trauma informed practice and use it in my work so, I find all the people hating on Ming in the comments really harsh. As your right he's just a baby learning what real love is for the first time. And his character development is subtle but its there. Like lots of comments are currently crying that Ming does not beat up Tong. But if he did he would have been his old volatile self whilst hes trying to show maturity to Joe and be more accountable for his actions.
I've been thinking this since forever. No idea why they shot it this way.
Me either, I will definitely rewatch it again as soon as all eps are out. (that'll be the 3rd time)
They have done really well to make it so captivating. This is the only show i've ever commented on and i'm just here living for everyone's comments between eps.
