I've been thinking this since forever. No idea why they shot it this way.
I wonder if they did shoot some like that but chose to go with this one anyways. Its a very striking image. But yes it would have made more sense to have they boys swap positions.
Let me know if you find a bts of the photo-shoot. Side note: the only thing I liked about OMG vampire was the photo-shoot at the end of the credits. TT-TT
That’s a smart move…I read the book and couldn’t resist the temptation and started to binge watch it after…
Yes they cut him so much. He was very memorable for me. As I thought he could have his own spin-off: cold but caring running to his brother side even though hes got his own problems and company to run. He was very direct with Joe and I just really like how he was written.
This tv show has made me even more emotional. I watched 4 episodes then read the book and have been watching weekly. Glad i did as I didn't realise OG Joe was so much older and Ming was so young.
The first time I watched I cried for Joe, so many tears. I re-watched the first 8 episodes whilst waiting for the ending ones and cried so much for Ming. Its just so well written and even without the novel I knew from the beginning that Tong was a POS and Sol was ICKY for hitting on Joe when he was living with Ming.
I know I've been waiting for Ming's redemption arc but Ming being much nicer towards Joe is making me cringe.…
Ming was always very lovely to OG Joe except for the occasions when Tong was involved. It was when his name was mentioned or even there in person that Ming was not able to control his emotions. and often said hurtful things. All the other times shopping, having dinner or even on set Joe and Ming were a real couple, even if Ming denied it.
Ming probably never had a good example of what a loving relationship was growing up. so he had no way to gauge what being in love with a real person who showed you love back was actually like. After all he only had a delusional crush on Tong for 4+ years.
When Joe left and asked Ming to move out, Mings world started crashing down and he probably started to realise how good his relationship was and that he did not want to loose it. Although his methods and thinking were very wrong. He had no chance to apologies or redeem himself before Joe died. For anyone who's suddenly lost a loved one on bad terms this is a type of psychological trauma in itself and must have been very painful.
Here I come, Tong apologist! So whatever or however he is how would anyone feel good about your brother in law…
If contracts aren't signed then its not his. It was only being negotiated. And its Mings investment that is funding the project. You see this all the time with the speculation of actors to star in things and then months later it can change. its pretty common.
Tong as we have seen has a shite work ethic and has Mings family funding all his recent projects. So maybe he can pull up his big boy pants and get some work on his own. After all the last project (which he took Joes name from) Tong admitted himself was more popular because of Mings small role.
Tong is not the same draw card he was. Tong is becoming unpopular in the industry because of how he treats people. He even got the director fired from the project Joe was going to replace him in. Word gets around in any industry work place and people see what Tong is like and only support him whilst the $$$ is coming in.
Regarding Episode 11, I think Tong is going to try to manipulate Ming. He's going to make Joe believe that May…
Yeah, I also wish they spent more time on Mings family, as they really did not treat him well growing up. And it shows why he does things to protect himself even if they are not what an average person would do.
Thankfully the sister is not spouting the homophbic dialogue in this series and she actually has a job running a bakery and seems to be a pretty decent person. Tong is full of charisma and has been able to charm/maniplulate lots of people so he can get his own way.
Also with the preview there is a lot of hate towards Ming again. I don;t know why? As it only shows a person tied up. And a person with a gun. People are all guessing that this is Joe and it is Mings fault. from what we already know Tong is in debt to Loan sharks again. Ming bailed him out on another/other occasions. Why would they take Joe and not Tong?
Also most of the characters are actors and we often see them on set. So I'm not getting pulled into anything until the actual episode comes out.
Because tv shows love to do twist and red herrings all the time on previews. These scenes are all pieced together and may not even be connect or in the right order. Only 5 days left...
I watched an interview with Up where he said that Ming has "emotional issues" and is a, "spoiled brat." This makes…
wait if you can. I usually do...
but for this show i can't as I'm in too much emotional turmoil that I'd probably have a heart attack if i watch the last 3 episodes in a row. I spent most of the day crying after watching the first 4 episodes. TT-TT
That’s a smart move…I read the book and couldn’t resist the temptation and started to binge watch it after…
I think that reading the novel will give you more insight into the background and thinking of the characters, even with the slight pot changes. Because its only 12eps not 24. But it is a similar pace to the novel around 10 chapters per episode. But I do miss the conversations from Mings brother he is only a very minor character in the tv series.
And well done on waiting to watch all episodes. Thats what i usually do. But I'm glad that i'm only getting a little bit of trauma every week rather than all at once (TT-TT)
Last time we saw Ming with his mother was when he kicked her out of his room. Now he's become a little boy infront…
Ming spend 3 years in college abroad. So he was 21 at the oldest when he returned. If he was a younger student as in the book they said 4 years leaving at 17. But it worked out the same, being an age that people wouldn't say is underage. Then they were in a short relationship before Joe died and 2 years later he was 23, he is currently around 24. being that its a year since new Joe woke from the coma, but less than that for their new relationship as they still have less than 6 months on the contract.
This is what confused me when i first watched the series as Joe and Ming seemed to be similar ages. I thought like you mid 20's
But they were around 9 years apart and Tong a couple of years older than Joe. As Joe had worked for Tong for 6-7 years since he finished his college studies. Presumably a 3 year course. I cant remember exactly but it was in some sort of sports that aligned with stunt work.
Ming was 16yrs when he watch the movie at the cinemas and fell in love. He held out for about a year before he needed to remove himself from Tong and his sisters love. He went to college/university abroad.
Last time we saw Ming with his mother was when he kicked her out of his room. Now he's become a little boy infront…
And don't forget that they mention his sister saved his life as a child. He loves her very much... so much so that he left and studied abroad so he wouldn't interfere with her and Tongs relationship, when he had his teenage crush on him.
Like Ming said in this episode since his family is super conservative they don't allow women to have money so…
Yes, Tong probably said something along the lines that he wants Ming to invest with him in business, to the mother.
Not that he lost money again and is in debt to loan sharks. And it is millions of dollars.
And I agree he would have used Joe's name to say that he is stopping Ming from being filial to his sister and brother in law. And that Ming needs to marry a women etc. to be a good son.
1st of all, that Women's jacket on Ming was so wrong........ 2nd They made Ming's mom evil.. 😭. She wasn't…
In the novel it was his sister screaming at him during that meeting, but I think they did well to show how Tong is filling her with lies. Him sitting on the arm of the chair, like he was a puppet master. And Ming had no option but to dance to his tune. Later it was his mother being like this.
They did well to mix the scenes together and make it more succinct for tv. Tong is playing the mother, just like he played Ming. And they didn't need to show the sister also being homophobic as her character is very caring in the tv series.
I really liked when Tong said "come back and be my lovey-dovey brother in law" it was just so ick. and so Tong!!!
(1)The choice of weapon. OK, let's dive into it. Although it's rather difficult to determine what type of bat…
What you have written is very interesting. And i often wondered about that "bat" also.
From reading the novel. I think that Ming knows about assault from his upbringing and his family having military linage, So my understanding this is something that he has witnessed or been used on him in his upbringing. And hopefully it might come back around in an episode to explain what his childhood was like. Letting Joe see why he make such a stupid choice to chain him up.
I love the journey you are taking with Ming and his red flag personality!! 🤣 Your updates are great!
Hopefully they'll show more of how his personality was made and how he tries to fight against it to go back to... a pink/grey flag??? Anyway not as extreme as he has been.
Now by the end of 2nd ep it seems like Ming is sweetie again😭what's wrkng damn he's just jelous. ok I know…
me too. Once you get to episode 8. I recommend going back and rewatching them all before starting 9. It made me notice so much I missed when I was crying for Joe. And then I started crying for Ming. Lots of tears in Ep 9 for both of the boys (TT)
the boy has baggage from his first crush/love as a teenager. Keep in mind that this is his first relationship…
This is the extreme of first crush/ one sided love. (TT) As Ming is being manipulated by Tong (his crush), and he leads him on, even though he has not interest in him. This is enough for him to study alone abroad for 3 years. So from the book the crush was around 5 years, Ming was 16 when they first met.
The first love can really make an imprint on a person. I guess that is why the movie the Notebook was really popular with all ages. (it wasn't for me. I never got through it. even though I'm a huge RG fan. By I prefer Drive and Only god forgives.)
You'll be fine... because luckily real life is rarely as extreme as this <3
I just started to watch and I'm on ep2 and I'm like: "Ming is such a sweetie". I'm so curious when he starts to…

This version is better as Ming face is so much lovelier and friendlier in the second one. He is more mysterious and unknown in the current one.
If you google my stand in tv show - images its like the 3rd image with a brown background.
