As for virginity, the point is that Joe had never made anyone do him before He was the top in all his relationships.…
Thank you. It was just the translation to virgin. Rather than I’ve never done this etc before I thought perhaps the tv show was trying to make Joe more pure.
What I love about Ming the most, that he never gave up on Joe, even when he was dead Usually, I like a person…
Yes, he was madly in love with Joe but didn't truly understand that's what it was himself until Joe asked him to leave their house. And Ming had no opportunity to talk with Joe or make things right, as Joe avoided him by staying at WUTs , Sol got into a fight with Ming in the office when he was trying to discuss the matter (not so calmly), and then lastly Joe left for the other stunt work and he had his accident.
Sol is pissing me off I wanted to skip be I won't because Joe was with him so I get you and I don't know why but…
Go back and rewatch, he was always like this. Its just the main focus was on Mings obsession with Tong and how that was hurting Joe and Mings relationship.
I'm very happy to read the comments about Sol , so I was impatiently waiting for this day when he would show his…
This is exactly how I feel. He knew OG Joe had a lover he was living with and still constantly hit on him. And literally tried to fight Ming. It was none of his business and then they could even have a conversation about what had gone wrong.
Then as soon as he knows New Joe is OG Joe he starts touching him all the time making what seems like a friendly "I'm so glad your alive hug" into a repetitive sexual advance. "he's my boyfriend" not awkward at all. Not trying to take advantage in anyway. He's just Yuck.

I'm so glad that I went back and rewatched all 8 episodes before beginning the final third of the series. The last ones are going to show new Ming and how he has matured (I really noticed that he didn't even anger at Sol's provoking him twice in the last episode.)
Anyway Here's what i really noticed that new Joe appears in so many reflective surfaces and I think his image has slowly been changing to become more like OG Joes.
Also that OG Joe was a virgin I must have blocked this out. Was the translation wrong? He had protection in his room... can anyone help clear this up?
And that Ming cried so much and that I ended up crying so much more for Ming during the second watch.
Plus don't get me started on how much and how often Sol started touching and hugging Joe once he knows. Without any consent or interest from Joe. He's just sleazy. And unbelievable as a Korean idol. His hair colour and style never changes in over 3 years NOT realistic! ;)
These aren't changes to me, maybe that's why I don't see them.Ming never wanted to start a heterosexual family,…
I'm hoping that there is still a chance we will get some flashback scenes from after Joes incident (because I ain't calling it and accident just yet) and some with Ming interacting with his family. And possibly Joe with Mings family.
The TV series has shown so much of Joe and his world experiences but unless you've read the novel Ming is still underdeveloped. Whereas in the novel after chapter 40, which aligned with ep 4, you got to read from Mings perspective on the detaining of Joe and a few other issues and see how his thought process worked. And even though the author has Joe mainly leading the story Mings character was given many opportunities to share his internal dialogue.
I'm with you on Sol and the mother. I somewhat understood the mom-thing because of Joe's orphan background that…
I enjoy shows more with internal monologues. Mings thoughts when he was detaining Joe so that Tong wouldn’t ruin him and his promising career. Showed he cared about Joe, was still powerless against Tong and that he didn’t have the maturity to have an adult conversation with Joe. His method was oh so wrong but his intention was for Joe to not get harmed by Tongs connections in the industry. And for Ming to independently support Joe. But none of this was communicated and in true drama style a turning point occurred from it.
have you seen Ming's sister and brother... clearly this is not a family thing
Mings family is against any deviation from the standard man and women relationships in the novel and chose to ignore Ming probably thinking they’ll just arrange a marriage for him.
But what pushes them is Tong whispering shit in the Mom ear about Ming. And how he is the only one who can straighten him out. So to speak. The sisters view is also toxic.
And the father’s abuse towards Ming was a twist I didn’t see coming.
So the family back story was necessary to show Ming upbringing but to also help Joe understand how Ming had changed and wanted to. Only be with Joe no matter the consequences his family would impose on him.
Hopefully we’ll get to see some of this as it was an insight into Ming.

The novel really shows you how Joe is grateful to the mother for hanging in whilst he was ina 2 year coma and all the pain and financial burden she faced.
But I guess without her sudden illness Joe would have no motivation. Desperation to help her through this illness that he become entangled with Ming again.
Thank you for your comments on SOL. This is also my stance. Ming is not perfect in the least. But even when he was in love with Tong he knew his place and didn’t cross the line so he wouldn’t upset his sister. SOL just won’t take no for an answer with Joe.
In the novel Joe had more of a Back bone. And it was often shown that he would think of Ming and what he liked/disliked in an interaction and would purposefully choose to do what he knew Ming didn’t like so that their interactions would be short. And he was always talking back to him. As because for Joe it was only a couple of weeks later after breaking up with Ming so the pain was really fresh and he was pissed off in a lot of their interactions.
I'm the last person to defend Ming but in the beginning when he hesitated to have sex with Joe(Winner) it looked…
Yes. Mings character is subtle like that. He is drawn to new Joe but does not know why. And is still in love with og Joe which is painful. Because we know it is the same soul inside the body. We judge his behaviour. But he doesn’t know what we know, so he is so conflicted. He is repeating the same path again. And is holding in all his pain. I just see Ming as someone who is really naive when it comes to understanding his own feelings and what love is. After all Tong strung him along for years. Hopefully the series will show more gradual changes.
"I bought you, so you can wag your tail for me"...downright disrespectfuland you guys are telling me Ming is worse…
Some things are worse in the tv series. Ming internal dialogue is also shown in the novel so you can see his thinking and how it leads him to some of his actions. Even though he can see into the future and believes it for the best his lack of EQ doesn’t allow him to realise how it hurts Joe in the short term. If only the 2 main characters had good Communication skills. But then we wouldn’t have all this drama 😊
my biggest question is just how the hell did Tong sink his claws into that family?seriously WTF?how did he charm…
So in the novel Ming requested that they go visit him on set after falling for his back silhouette on the poster and the main fight scenes. Since his family was well connected it was easy for him to meet Tong on set. Ming took his sister with him. This allowed Ming access to the sister and charmed her during their visits. The novel goes into many examples of Tongs ability to charm and get his own way. Which is shown in the series when og Joe takes on more stand in work as Tong has better things to do than actually act in his own movie.
In the series when Tong and Ming were feeding each other food. What an ick moment as you could start to see that Tong was stringing him along in that early scene. Tong was only alone with Ming if he needed something otherwise he wouldn’t make time for Ming.
I admit I'm a bit disappointed, let me explain:At the beginning of the series, I got a little spoiler: You'll…
Ming did change. In lots of ways. Some have been shown and other will be revealed.
He first of all does not follow Tong around like a puppy in love. He shows his distain and disagreement towards him. Mainly in private but it is still there.
Also he started to act and became a public figure. Even though he is a very private person. Shown by how happy he was just to be at home living with Joe and he dislike for fame went people comment that he should join the biz.
Lastly his unwavering belief that Joe is not dead. His whole existence is hanging on by a thread because of what the monk told him. He was pretty much ready to die when they could not find Joe after the incident.
But yes I agree that in many ways his character is still the same… his possessiveness, his way of dealing with his emotions.. his wanting to be in control. People only learn to correct there devious through failure and having people around them who can support them with good role Models. Ming has none of this and worse still he has Tong manipulating him.
EXACTLY Ming is partly a product of his family and his experiences... Also Ming is a decade younger than original…
In the novel Joe went to work for a documentary crew. Who was on there way to working in a more remote location. And there was a storm and as people were fleeing Joe was separated from his crew and fell off a cliff due to the mud slides. I found this incredibly sad as this is something that happens in China and I have seen it on the news In the novel they went into how frantic Ming was to continue the search for Joe many weeks after the official search was called off and how it just was devastating for him. His brother basically stopped all of his work and was by Mings side the whole time trying to get him to come back to his senses. As he was not eating or sleeping and was frantic with despair.

Now in the present from memory Ming is 24 and how is about 27 a similar age to Sol.
Understanding there ages helped me to empathise more with Ming due to his immaturity in relationships.
Plus my brain saw Ming and Joe as similar ages when I watched the first 4 eps. Which was confusing until I read the novel.
Communication skills. But then we wouldn’t have all this drama 😊
