trying to tell a secret but not telling it because: * phone rang * someone is at the door * the listener said something related to the secret and how they will be angry if that was the truth * don't want to ruin that particular day; will tell tomorrow
All these count as not telling the secret. Later on we cannot be made to feel bad that the character wanted to be in the open but ended up being misunderstood.
there is no proper confrontation with the evil MIL. yes she loses many things but that is not in response to her sins against FL. that divine judgement is no good
the ending is so revolting that it can make you vomit. an evil character is shown so much pity just because she becomes an alzhiemers patient. then everyone gets together for family photo as if nothing had happened.
the upper management in korea is really frightening. They can meddle in the employees' private life, make them get together, break up, go on blind date, resign after being made a scapegoat, and what not. Its like employees are slaves in makjang dramas.
The 2nd brother is a character bad enough to start a hate club for. Is he the only younger brother in the world? So what if he had to wear run-me-downs? There are abundant younder brothers and more that 99% don't behave that way. And he can't mistreat sujin or boksil using that as an excuse.
I am at ep 24 and I don't lke the 2nd son at all. I don't think being a playboy is a likable trait. He treats BokSil too harshly. Even if he is not interested in her romantically, he should not treat his staff that way especially if you have not paid them properly and they perform extra duties. He is trying to club his hyung and boksil together w/o thinking of their feelings. He thinks all other people don't have feelings.

I didn't like Ms. Im's sister in law revealing the truth about Ha Nee. That person has known them for atleast 20 years and have previously visited them. It is just convenient that this year, she decided that it so painful to let things be that she put extra effort in revealing the truth.
The thing is that I am really trying to give excuses to myself for her overly exaggarated reaction...but is too…
The only reason I could think of is that she expected opposition from the mother but not the father. And at that point she knows about her father trying to extort money from Jae Woo's father so she is ashamed.
The writer of this drama is weirdly snobbish. They probably believe that people with class are better inherently. But they also want to show that classy people also flourish in poor conditions.
All the evil/bad/antagonistic people have poor inherent background as per social norms. 1. Min Jung: born to drunkard father and poor mother 2. Min Jung's mother: poor and worked as a maid and served alcohol 3. Jae Hee: born as a bastard son to a poor mother 4. Jae Hee's mother: born poor and was a mistress to a rich man 5. In Hwa: was poor and orphaned at young age
Superficially it looks like the writer wants to break society's prejudice but its is actually very opposite. 1. Love b/w people of different backgrounds. Jae Hwa is from a typical good background but Bo Ri is apparently not. However, in reality, they are from similar backgrounds. 2. Stereotypes against single mothers that they are lacking in character and irresponsible. Bo Ri is not actually the birth mother so that goes out of question.
Most traditional stereotypes and characterizations are kept though. 1. Jae Hee being born as a bastard is automatically inferior to Jae Hwa. He is somehow worse at his job than Jae Hwa despite having more experience and better network. 2. In Hwa being from a poor background than the classy Ok Soo always relies on cheating and deception to win. 3. Min Jung not being born rich cannot see anything other than money.
The drama is so snobbish and obsessed with hanboks that it is appalling.
