This drama has actually been rumoured for Gong Jun since last year April. FLs keep changing but he stays in the rumour.
The crew who will work on this drama is the same crew he is working with on the drama he is currently filming. Which means there's 90% of the rumour being true.
The people who updated the cast made a mistake and put him on the wrong drama since this one has 3 parts. There will be 3 fox spirit dramas

Judging from how c -ent is trying to ban bl dramas and delaying them from airing, i dont think he will.
He himself said he can take another bl if the script is good but for his safety in the fragile c-ent industry, it will be in his interst not to take it.
Bl dramas which have finished filming don't know if they will ever air.
The one which was ruomoured was QJJ with Xu Kai. But now i dont think it will ever happen. It was just a rumour & was never confirmed.

I never read the book where betty wu's character was in but in one of the books in the universe i read , i met yang jian there as a minor character. I never read their book as a couple though. I dont know the title. But i always search manually to get them & read on google trans without knowing the real title. I will try searching for their book.

As for miles wei character(Gao Yi) , he is in the novel(I want to go against the wind) for this drama as one of the important characters. . His connection is through the FL's side (Jiang Hu) only. He has no connection to Betty Wu's character or Yang Jian.
But since they added Betty Wu's character in the drama & her Significant other i guess they reduced Gao Yi's role.
Xiang zhao yang and Yang Jian are the second couple of the drama.

I really loved the book. I re read it 2 times now already. I'm waiting to see the changes the drama will do.
Hope they share bts with us. Gong Jun seems to get along with his co star zhong chuxi really well.

Another thing i want to share in a non spoiler way coz i don't think they will follow the book much:

I read the novel some time ago and based on the casts and their level of importance in the drama, i think the script writer changed the story.
Miles Wei's character is very important and a major character in the book but here he is a side character.
Other characters like Qi Sitian (a major character) is no where to be seen on the character list.
Betty Wu & that guy's characters are not in this novel at all but theyre in the prequel novel.
They just imported them to here.

I read all the books the authour wrote in Xu Si's universe. Each story focuses on one of the group of rich guys who are friends. This one is Xu Si's time for his story after being a side character in others' stories. Its the shortest. Hence why i think the script writer added & removed some characters.
Two among those books in that universe already have drama adaptations btw. I loved all the books but i have not watched the dramas.

(They never meet in school in the novel btw. The ones who meet in school are other two major characters but not Xu Si & FL.
Both FL & Xu Si are people born with silver poon in their mouth so they meet in another way since their parents run in the same circle lol. )

I read the novel and they never meet in school.
They only meet coz theyre both from extra rich families & their families used to look at eachother for dating prospects.
Unless the script writer changed the story.

The ones who meet in school is Miles Wei character & Jiang Hu. Not Xu Si.

This story is good. I bet it would be even better if its book.
