Victim should never be shamed but supported resolutely to build a better world and obtain justice

Such a powerful drama, it was hard sometimes but so necessary to understand a little bit better sexual assault victims. They should be protected not being victim a second time. Fiction shouldn't be only used to entertain people but also to raise awareness and made us question our role in the society and I think drama succeeded in this mission.

For the story in itself, it felt like Sibei's life was shaped by patriarchy all her life. She lived a tough life because her mother favoured her brother just because he was a boy. With the same beliefs, her family kept her from reporting this assault.

So It was beautiful and important to see her finally gather the courage to do it even if it was tough for her. Fortunately for her, Qin Nan supported her from the start. It's normal for him to do that but it was stirring for me to see him not questioning Sibei once, he just sided with her unwaveringly and that's how we should support those victims.

Their relationship got more complex toward the end, but I think it got more healthier : Qin Nan finally saw Sibei as his equal not someone he put in a pedestal or kinda worship.

Her relationship with her family leave me more perplex : her brother changed for sure and he's not my main concern for her parents I don't know, they hurt her so bad. But maybe like Sibei said at the end we shouldn't mix the good and the bad, we should just accept them separately and act accordingly.

My only issue with this drama is after the first trial it got to slow, it was kinda dragging : the idea of showing the aftermath of the trial was good however the execution was maybe not the best.

So in conclusion I strongly recommend this drama if you can bear to see tough scenes because it can be triggering.
