Episodes 29 and 30 are awesome! The cgi is awe-inspiring and magical, showing the formidable power of 2nd rank Tianyu Dharma. It makes one wonder how much more powerful 1st rank figures are. Is the supervisor one? He sure is imposing. The build up of suspense for the upcoming duel between Dafeng and Tianyu is palpable. And the comedy being injected at random times generates LOL moments, like the Xu family portrait in the middle of a national crisis or Xu Qi An’s reaction to being told his role in the duel or Xu Xinian being more concerned about his date with Simu. Add to this Princess Lin An’s attempts at eliciting a proposal from Xu Qi An. Plus so many questions deepening the mystery: whose name got erased from the documents, what was the treasure, who is Shen Shu, what is in Xu Qi An that made Shen Shu choose him? This drama is truly a full package, a masterpiece!

For those who are seeing it, just interpret it as a space (blank character) that does not wrap to a new line.

During Weibo night, when Liu Yuning said they (him + Wang Hedi, Bai Lu, Luo Yunxi) are wearing black because they’re always being blackened, the camera focused on a guy in the audience. Does anybody know who he is? Might he be the one who set up the 200 million rmb budget to blacken Dylan and said male-centric dramas fail except when Zhang Ruo Yun stars in them? It would be interesting to know what Dylan’s bullies felt when GOTD became officially a blockbuster hit. It’s satisfying when villains don’t get their way.

The drama itself shows scenes that mirror some bullying he’s getting, like in ep 1 when Yan Ling was berated by the other manager for his accent, and other scenes when he was bullied by brats with powerful dads. He has another new song, can’t remember its title, that says something about him using his talents instead of playing dirty tricks like his bullies.

It’s the nature of mystery dramas. Things are kept hidden for valid reasons.

It gets better with each episode. If you like comedy, mystery, action and romance, give it another go.

This scene alone justifies Princess Lin An’s FL designation. In a male-centric drama such as this one, an FL’s screen time matters much less than how the ML feels about her. And this scene makes it clear that Xu Qi An’s heart beliongs to her.

yup, i prefer 2 episodes a day, but I don’t mind 1 ep a day as it gives me time to rewatch previous episodes

In a way, I like the 1 episode per day schedule as there are many things to grasp in each episode - many characters and places to remember. I therefore enjoy rewatching.

You’re right, it’s dark humor. But therein lies the charm. This family is quirky but warm.
