I like it a lot. The fl is a smart hardworking reporter who doesn't have much experience in romantic relationships…
Yup, this drama requires a good understanding of the characters to be well-enjoyed. And to fully understand the fl and ml needs a good idea of the world they're living in especially their families, friends, work and other activites. So, skipping scenes could make viewers miss out on some elements that are important to achieving this understanding.

I agree, Shu Yi is mostly admirable. I think Shi Yan is smart enough not to fall totally in love with the girl of his dreams had he found her of lesser stock than what he saw once he got to know her better. She just has a lot of growing up to do and Shi Yan is prepared to make that journey with her as long as she wants to. I think he cut off their communciation to give her time to reflect on what she really wants. And it seems their break-up did knock some sense into her.
he will try to, but he'll just prove to the audience that Shu Yi really loves Shi Yan
Shi Yan is such a jealous guy, it's almost funny that he has to fall in love with a girl who attracts men like bees to honey. but he's also lucky that, for all her flaws, she has some ethical sense, e.g. she refuses to be bribed. Her attempt to flirt with him for ulterior motives ended in such a painful experience that she probably has learned a much needed lesson. I'm now hoping she'll kick her habit of lying because that can really be problematic in their future. So far, since she realized she loves Shi Yan, I have only seen her lie once. That's one lie in a span of 4 or 5 episodes, compared to sometimes numerous times in one episode.
I loved it. The characters are multi-dimensional (as they should be but not achieved by a lot of cdramas) who…
thanks for letting me know and why. it makes sense that fans of other dramas penned by the same scriptwriter would be interested. brave of you to watch it despite what you had read about it. glad the thread does not look as negative as I had felt. hopefully, things will get as rosy in this thread as in the ending episodes ๐

glad you did. Shu Yi is a beautiful and intelligent girl and will draw many men to her. but she has shown how faithful she is. you could tell she treats Yu You and Yi Yang as friends only.
Still thinking whether to watch this or not due to it getting butchered by cut cut โ
the cuts didn't affect the story. they just made the drama less steamy. i even like the drama better without them coz I prefer sweet romance to explicit scenes. the discussion topic "Compiled links of BTS, Deleted Scenes, Extended Ending + Extra Story" has links to cut scenes if you're interested in them
I applaud the scriptwriter for subtly handling a matter that has been bugging me about cdramas - lead characters lying and getting away with it. It seems to me that cdramas depict lying as a smart move, insinuating that being able to extricate oneself from sticky situations by lying is admirable, that white lies cannot hurt.
So, self-confident and self-centered Shu Yi pretends to be a flirt then lies and lies and lies.
But this time, she does not get away with it. She suffers for the web of lies she created.
Hats off to Bai Lu for bringing this flawed and controversial character to life, managing to make Shu Yi someone whose redemption viewers would be eager to see and root for.
I went around looking to see what I should watch next and I noticed OFL has been mentioned in a few of the groups…
I loved it. The characters are multi-dimensional (as they should be but not achieved by a lot of cdramas) who cannot be pegged down with one-liner decriptions like hard-working career girl and cold CEO. They have been fleshed out well with their interactions with each other and with other characters. That's why those who skip scenes risk losing some dimensions of the story.
What do you think of the comment thread? Would you consider it normal, positive or abnormally negative?
I'm curious, in which other groups did you see OFL being maligned?
Dylan deserves both his popularity and his performance. His character DFQC is on the financial report for iQiyi…
i cried looking at his innocent face. He's so young, earnest and full of life, but already navigating this treacherous world of Chinese Entertainment industry. I hope he does not get polluted and corrupted.

Yeah, you could tell he was not wholeheartedly happy about it. But one thing I've noticed and admired about Didi, he is diplomatic, though this is not only with him, but something I've noticed in cdramas. Sensible characters do not burn bridges. A good lesson to take heed.
I think that's the purpose of the writer for adding a Yi Yang character. To prove Shu Yi's love for Shi Yan. She…
yeah, she and shanshan are so full of themselves they love toying with people, making assumptions and lying. Her guilt and regret at blowing this best chance at real love is the wake-up she needs.

Faults like "no plot" which those who understand, don't skip and enjoy this drama know is false, and other faults like dragging, bad filter, bad camera angle, bad wardrobe, etc. that many other cdramas have but are being exaggerated with this drama ๐คจ At this point, Shu Yi doesn't know Shi Yan still likes her. When he blocked her, she thought she had lost him for good. And seeing him with his ex-gf must have exacerbated her feeling of hopelessness. So she likely thought it was useless to make him know she loves him

did they release it while it was airing on TV? if so, they must have only aired it in China, not to international markets coz i can't remember any good English subtitles for this drama
They are just following the novel script because that is how it went in the novel. Don't know why everyone is…
good advice. yup, i'm trying to ignore them, though my senes of justice is making it quite challenging when i keep reading about flaws of this drama that other dramas also have, e.g. being dragging, yet there's nary a peep about it with other dramas, but here it's blown out of proportion.
