After watching the first 3 episodes, I put this drama in the "on hold" drama. Not because it's not good. But I have a feeling that this drama will have a very sad bad ending. And it's true after seeing several comments and reviews.
I immediately jumped to the last 2 episodes which even gave me the impression that I was traumatized. I don't know what would happen if I really continued from the start, I would definitely be even more devastated.
In the end I immediately jumped to watch forever and ever. Maybe one day I'll resume it when I'm ready to face it.
I love this manga adaptation. I have read the manga, although the "character writing" of the main character (Shi Guang/Hikaru) is different from the manga. But I like it. Hikaru's initially calm character turns into a cheerful and goofy one. But the goofiness makes the story more lively.
Actually, the real manga is short. So there will be a lot of filler episodes, but most of the filler episodes don't feel like filler. Some episodes support story progress and character development. Except for a few episodes at the end. it felt a bit dragging.
But overall it is very good adaptation. For overall experience i give it 10/10. GOOD JOB.

And not everyone has the time and likes to watch all kinds of dramas. There are those who don't like this type of wuxia drama and don't touch it at all. And those who don't touch this drama certainly won't rate it.
And last, If you look at the top 20 rankings of Chinese dramas with the highest ratings on MDL, they have very varied types, themes, actors, directors and settings. So the high rating on MDL is not just because it is hormonal bs things.
Iam at episode 6, i still don't get "click" for this drama. But I admit this is a mystery drama with a very good plot.
But for some reason I don't like the acting of the supporting actors, it's very wrong if you put it into perspective of the situation and atmosphere. While the acting the two main leads are quite ok. BUT I think there seems to be a problem with the directing.
I love how bold the childs acting. I'm on Episode 2. Its for sure this drama will be good to watch.
