I had fun with this episode, and the way the next episode will go was unexpected. I like where it's going now. I knew the kid was going to tell his other classmates that because I also think he was lowkey pissed that they sent him there, just for him to show up and be taken such good care of. It surprised him lol. SYJ still treats JH like a kid and I was surprised but not too surprised. It was believable because she was stressed and is used to being in control of things; since he basically begged her to work with him on this he knew it would be difficult to argue with her on this one. But as we see at the end he was right at least on a one-to-one student basis. SYJ loves to teach and loves her subject but can't teach it the way she did with JH because it's not possible to spend that same amount of time on a whole class of students. Even though she's considered smart she hasn't tried to change her teaching methods in years and it seems that change scares her too. She isn't a perfect genius. Jun Ho is less afraid of change and has better ideas at this time and that is okay. And she's never going to be "nice". She just isn't that character. If/ When they do start the relationship I think she'll try to be less harsh but it will never completely go away. Not everyone is like that. Also, Teacher NAM is scary omg. Not sure where we'll go with that one now. I think it's a show that most people will prefer to binge. But it's just so my style. If you're expecting them to be cute together or just waiting for that then it'll be difficult to enjoy this show. You have to be able to enjoy just plain life itself unfolding. They don't have that kind of chemistry but I see it in split moments. But they are not really supposed to have that at the moment, are they? I don't even know if they will have that sort of chemistry. But they obviously work very well together. I can see that they're close though. Even their coworkers can see that. He can physically hold her and shake her out of her shock and that's not a problem, I think even the way she talks to him shows that- when she's being harsh and when she's not lol. Before they went in for free lecture she said "Let's do this" lol. Me and ML can see through her. She was turning to him for encouragement. She was scared scared. The romance will come. They obviously admire each other but she first has to stop seeing him as her student. So until then. But she won't take the new job offer I don't think because the poster looks like her current office.
After that scene in the bar/restaurant when she talked to him in such a rude way, its very hard to like her. I…
I didn’t find her rude at all. She was straight to the point imo. I’ve had tutors before and they’re really just like teachers. If one of them saw me making a decision they think is rash then they’ll try to stop me as an older more experienced person, of course because I’m someone they care about. I think a student teacher relationship goes beyond an acquaintance no matter how long ago I last saw them. Of course, if he fails it’s his own responsibility but if you think you have a chance to dissuade someone from a decision you think is the wrong one then you’ll give advice on this and try to be as persuasive as you can. Being a hagwon teacher is no walk in the park but it’s also looked down on. Like his parents said, in their society, a hagwon teaching job and a corporate job at a big corporation are on two different classes entirely so I wouldn’t say it was not her business at all. He was saying he’ll come and live her life- a life that she thinks can be avoided.
The feelings of the characters really come through so I can feel everything right with them; anger, surprise, embarrassment, excitement. Promoting them as student and teacher has to be the worst idea😠At the restaurant, she wanted to scare him a bit and I think it worked so he’ll put his best foot forward. But I’m missing some context. When the director asked her why she was acting like a teacher to Jin Ho, what did he mean? Aha I almost forgot to mention the table slamming scene …what on earth
That was really interesting to me! I never thought about what public teachers think about the ones teaching at…
I feel like he understood the mistake he made but his pride is too big to let it go. Korea has a strong hierarchy and respect system and teachers in regular schools and teachers in hagwon's don't see eye to eye. They look down on each other. So to him, it's like: how dare she, a simple parasite of the educational system, have the audacity to come and challenge him (a "real" teacher) like that, to his face- and in front of all these people? But he's very silly. She asked him if it was really okay to sit there when she first came in and he said why not, and now he's mad. So annoying. But she really needs to watch her back because.. that guy.. he looks like he can killðŸ˜
I did not find the first half boring at all! I guess it may seem that way if you are unfamiliar with Korea's cutthroat education system. It is war. That was to set us up for whatever fight she will have with that really scary teacher and it will be messy. I am already afraid. This pacing is really the director's style. It isn't fast-paced crazy-crazy-crazy. It's like smaller impactful moments. The chemistry is already chemistrying and there's some tension in the air. I think the lead's characters are going to be very annoying a lot of times but they've set it up so it makes sense that both of them are slightly crazy. Although she was his teacher she has like zero control over him lol. She's already losing the battle in front of my eyes. Like what was that last line he said? damn. But she's a really successful person. I think this relationship will nearly if not totally ruin her career or at least give her nightmares. If the student's moms find out... I don't even want to imagine.. I'm scared to see such a successful person dragged through the mud tbh. It's filmed beautifully too. But I don't know how I can wait for each episode...the pain of waiting...
Reading the comments has made me decide not to watch anymore until it ends. I haven't watched Ep 10 because of…
I don’t agree with women empowerment because the red sleeve and the Queen’s umbrella are proof that it can be done well and nothing wrong with women’s empowermentðŸ˜but every other thing- I wholeheartedly agree
