LOL. So spot on. The 2ML gives off the exact same vibe as YR. Someone who is super naive and only sees the FL at surface level but doesn't understand her.
Once the engagement is over, the love between OTP is going to develop much quicker than Ming Lan. Ming Lan is like the slowest burn love drama I've ever watched.
They reunite. Her son is a spoiled brat just like before they seperated. Son gets a mini arc, which I could've…
They are reunited in episode 35. He is caught stealing food from Sanniang's restaurant. In episode 36 he explains he was cheated out of his money and walked over two months, since he misses his mother. We are not given much backstory. Sanniang takes him in after.
There is no character growth for the kid, he remains a spoiled brat. In episode 37 he gets put in his place by Yinzhang and Changfeng after saying some fucked up shit about his mom. You really want to slap the kid.
What happen at the end for Sanniang? (the one with the son) Did you end up seeing her son again?
They reunite. Her son is a spoiled brat just like before they seperated. Son gets a mini arc, which I could've done without. Sanniang remarries by the end.
someone knows when this will finish airing on youtube?
It'll be a while. The release schedule is pretty slow for non VIP. You can watch all the episodes for free on something like dramacool. They have all the way up to the end.
I'm on ep 38, and have a doubt: why everybody says Qingfan married Pan'er? I thought they were engaged only. When…
You didn't miss anything. It's very likely that certain scenes were edited/cut to meet the 40 episode cap. So the "marraige" is not really explained.
My theory:
If I had to make a theory they might have spread news that they were married. I do not believe they officially married. Logically the reason for the rapid "marriage" would be to plugs holes regarding Pan'er's and GQF's involvement with the Night Revels painting. The story would be they are just a loving couple that met up by chance and not two individuals who worked together to try and harm the Empress using the painting. This love story would go opposite of what Qi Mu and OX was trying to convey.
The fact is GQF and Pan'er did actually know the Night Revels was authethic. Pan'er lied to the Emperor that the painting OX had was a fake. Following along, GQF pretended to know nothing about the painting. They wanted to show they are just loving couple and people of good character (i.e. they are not liars). By doing this the Emperor would start to drop his suspicions of GQF and the blame would fall on Qi Mu and OX for using a "fake" painting to try to harm his Empress.
The plan ultimately succeeded thanks to the good reputation that Pan'er and GQF had acquired over the course of the story. The gossip around the Eastern Capital is that GQF is a good husband and Pan'er is a great woman. Several people like Gao Hui and Lei Jing also put in good words for our OTP. Our couple lied to the Emperor and got away with it. OX once again got shafted by Pan'er.
To tidy up the loose end, they needed to destroy OX credibility, only then would they be safe from any further suspicions by the Emperor.
The above is just a theory, but it kind of fills in the gaps and explains why they would be "married."
I...was legit thinking this would be one of my fav dramas of all time. The anticipation I had for the romance...when…
This is my sentiments as well. There just wasn't enough moments with our leads post reconciliation. If there was more time to build their relationship up again, I'd probably be more satisfied, but they just acted as if nothing happened. We get like one or two dialogues addressing the seperation. That's it. I heard that many intimate scenes were cut out due to the 40 episode cap. It really did a disservice to the overall show. If we had all those cut scenes, it might've been a different story. But, with what we got I couldn't look at them the same anymore. I guess we are suppose to assume that they had the long talks and intimate moments, but we the viewer, are not mind readers. Unless we see it, or get monologues about what happened from the reconciliation til the end, it kind of feel flat.
Regardless, like you I still gave it relative high marks. This was all because of the first half of the show. It was a really feel good show in the first half that didn't have the many tropes that plague C-Dramas. I want people to enjoy it and would still recommend it.
Ouyang Xu is just a chess piece that is being used. He is also just a selfish POS. He aligned himself with Qi…
I had good vibes with TAB until that ending. The OTP had a last minute seperation on the last episode. But find each other and meet for like the last 30 seconds of the show... stupid reason for the seperation too.
I rewatched the trailers for LLTG and saw some of the comments on MDL. Some people are saying Ming Lan vibes for the first few episodes and already tears for the FL. I like slow burn romance where it takes time for the FL to fall in love and trust the ML. I'm definately going to put this on hold until both parts finish airing. I'm not familiar with the director but the screenwriter did No Boundaries which I for the most part enjoyed. I'm hoping it will have a HEA. With the apparent angst and tragedy on the trailers, I'd be pissed if we didn't get a HEA.
Edit: O gosh, just realized why people are making the comparison of LLTG and TSOML. The author also wrote Ming Lan. Lol. But then the drama Ming Lan deviated from the book by quite a bit. Interesting. Now all the angst between the family makes sense. That means reputation and status is probably going to play a big role in LLTG. Damn, really aching to watch it now. But nah....
Ouyang Xu is just a chess piece that is being used. He is also just a selfish POS. He aligned himself with Qi…
Word. I always check for spoilers on ending. I'm not going to waste time watching a 40+ just to find out it's sad.
I had high hopes of the maturity of the OTP with how episodes 14-19 were done. They just had a mature conversation to dispel each other's doubts and fears. Then episode 27 happened...and literally my heart sank and I just kept hoping it was not going down this path of trope. But it did. I still enjoyed clips after 27, but it lost the shine. I applaud the team for still being able to make a relatively coherent story at the end due to the 40 episode cap, but it just didn't hit the spot for me. With ADOS I was left with the same feeling I got when I finished Autumn Ballad.
Ouyang Xu is just a chess piece that is being used. He is also just a selfish POS. He aligned himself with Qi…
Thanks! I read a lot of your comments as well :) The thing is ADOS just sort of happened for me. I never watched an ongoing series before, I always waited til all the episodes aired. I'm sad that the last third of ADOS didn't really hit the spot for me. It was still a fun experience though.
I will watch LLTG when all the episodes are out. I feel it will give me the same longing for the next episode that ADOS did and I won't be able to wait for episodes to air. It'll just stress me out.
I don't think I ever watched a series where Lu Si did not have a HEA. It's awesome who she will be paired with and they will use their actual voices. It took me a second to get used to the dub for WRTW, but it was actually well done. Still I prefer actual voices if possible. I don't know the full story or read the book for LLTG, but I know it will have a lot of tragedy, but ultimately it will probably be a HEA. It's going to be a ride when I start.
will be 4 ep tomorrow, after 5 days with 2 ep per day, and then every week 6 episode
Yeah... Thinking it'll just play right after. The 40 cap rule is still a little iffy to me. I havent kept track of any series that are multiple parts. This show will be the first. If it was a normal 40+ show it'll just keep airing til the end.
Is the airing schedule for this available yet? Is this going to open with like 8 episodes on Tuesday like ADOS?
Edit: NVM I found out. Looks like 4 episodes for Tencent.
I have both Tencent and iQiyi VIP, I wonder if the quality will be better on iQiyi. I don't know what type of compression Tencent uses, but generally I found the quality inferior to iQiyi. I hope if someone finds the schedule they could please kindly post it in the gallery. <3
Currently on episode 35. May someone kindly explain the whole deal with Ouyang Xu and The Night Revels painting?…
Ouyang Xu is just a chess piece that is being used. He is also just a selfish POS. He aligned himself with Qi Mu and gave him the painting. This was in order to curry favor and enable him to return to the Capital with an official position. The painting is authenthic. It proves that the Empress was a performer. A performer would never have been allowed to enter the harem, let alone become an Empress. The ministers would've prevented it. Qi Mu and his ministers should've been able to use it to depose the Empress, but Pan'er lied to the Emperor that the painting is a fake. This was to protect the Empress from being deposed and becoming a pariah. Having been a pariah herself, Pan'er did not want the Empress or anyone for that matter, to suffer as a pariah. Since the Emperor believed the painting was fake, he concluded that Qi Mu was using the "fake" painting in an attempt to harm his Empress. Qi Mu was punished accordingly, as well as Ouyang Xu.
The Empress and Emperor do not know that the painting is authethic and kept investigating Pan'er and GQF. This was all caused by OX. It got to the point where GQF was tortured and Pan'er was almost flogged to death.
Although OX was guilty of aligning himself with Qi Mu and presenting the painting, the Emperor felt sympathy for him, believing that he was just used by Qi Mu and is not a bad person. OX is really good at manipulating people for sympathy. The Emperor decided to be lenient and have him sent outside of the Capital with an official position, instead of just leaving him with nothing. Even so, OX could not forgive Pan'er and GQF for the perceieved trouble they have caused him. He really caused all the trouble himself. Actually, Pan'er and GQF are only reactive to OX. They didn't want to involve themselves with him, however OX tried to have GQF and Pan'er killed and attacked Pan'er's reputation. It was the final straw for Pan'er and she decides to expose OX for the fraud that he is. By exposing OX as the liar that he is, only then would GQF and Pan'er's names be cleared of any more scrutiny by the Emperor and Empress.
OX really just kept digging his own grave. If he just left the Capital for his new position, he would've been fine. He let his greed and anger get the best of him. As a result he truly loses everything and is ultimately going to be tortured and killed himself. All karma.
I stop watching Yang Guo & Xiao long nu story. The 2008 remake was the first that I saw as a teenager then that…
I know how you feel. I started the Condor series with the 2019 adaption of Dragon Slaying Sabre. I then went back and watched Condor Heroes 2017. I was really looking forward to watching the Romance of the Condor Heroes, and then that scene happened. It was really hard for me to swallow. Especially since the ML was just playing while the FL was raped. They could've just released her. It was so cringe since she thought it was ML too. Just so much ugh. I skipped to the end after that. I had to confirm the story by reading the summary several times. I just skipped to the end after. Yang Guo's story is really tragic I get that. At least they are together in the end and raise a beautiful upright daughter.
Edit: Yellow Dress Maiden is a descendant, not daughter. She could be a great grand daughter.
did his father (xiao qinyan) really mean to kill PanEr, or did his younger brother (xiao wei) make that all up?…
Father was really going to have her killed and frame it on Qi Mu. This would direct the attention back to Qi Mu instead of GQF and himself. GQF realizes how much of a POS he is and cuts all ties in ep 33. Pan'er still isn't fully aware and is desperate to help GQF. The carriage ride should've taken Pan'er some place and had her murdered, but BIL intervened and saved her. BIL was just jealous but never wanted to kill GQF. GQF had saved BIL several times as well. He doesn't want GQF to lose the love of his life.
Its not obvious in the subs, but BIL addresses Pan'er respectfully as sister in law, not as Pan'er. He has some sort of respect/love for GQF and realizes with Pan'er, his brother isn't bad to have found someone like her, that deeply loves him.
They don't stop thinking about each other during the break. It's more frustrating than anything. Cause they just…
We don't find out until 36 that she contemplated suicide. That is how much she was hurt. But again she later complain that he is a coward for not wanting to just tell her to break clean from the relationship. A lot of it was made up in her head. I'm sympathetic because she though he abandoned her based on what happened. But she didn't try to put herself in his shoes. What's playing in her head is vastly different than the truth. She just has her truth. No communication. She only realizes later when she opens her eyes to the facts. Her pride and insecurities are her biggest flaws.
When she finally reconciled with GQF she had to toss away her pride. And that's why ultimately they could reconcile. She admitted she was wrong. GQF understands what it means for Pan'er to do this. He knows how prideful and arrogant she is. That's why he is willing to give it a chance in the end. She loves him that much too, and he knows. GQF was thinking rationally and not emotionally, so he knew that there would always be a shadow between them due to the feud. Finally Pan'er dropping her pride once again, threatens him with the hairpin, this is the last chance she will give him. By counting down, she forced him to go with his feelings, instead of being rational and it worked.
Will you be watching Love Like the Galaxy? Prayers it will come out very soon. All those bts they've been dropping…
My understanding is in the novel, he gets his powers back and rules half the world. It is fan mind, if you think of a scriptwriter as a fan. The drama also includes a lot of political drama not in the book. Scriptwriters are kind of fan writers.
They don't stop thinking about each other during the break. It's more frustrating than anything. Cause they just…
Just for devil's advocate. Literally the plot is causing all the misunderstanding. What's not to say the flower would've flown off too. like the wind knocking over the freaking barred up window and vase on the monies?
The bottom line to me wasn't the lack of communication, more so than the lack of trust. GQF was gone on Official Business and even snuck back to try and see Pan'er. Again, plot made it so he never makes it. Pan'er said she would wait. Pan'er trusts him. But then when he finally musters of the courage to confront her about the whole situation, she doesn't want to listen. Like...why not?
Her realization with the monies and GQF's father situation was, the o shit moment for her. She fucked up IMO, more so than GQF.
