I'm not sure how far it goes yet. We don't know who were the ones responsible for the charge yet. GQF might later find out it involves his father. Either way he's questioning if he is right for her after all the stuff the CSO had done to her. He really should've talked it out with her. I know his world is getting turned upside down and misunderstandings are happening. But wtf happened to that great communication in the first half.

He finds the report on what CSO did to Pan'er's family. It looks like Pan'er's father was charged for going against orders while trying to protect the people. He begins to recall all the pain Pan'er suffered as a result of becoming a slave. He doesn't know how to face her.

Adding to his stress is he needs to leave for Official business and get money Pan'er needs for her restaurant. He leaves the money without saying anything to her.

Misunderstanding happens cause she doesn't find the money and he doesn't say anything to her and just leaves for Official business. In her mind he abandoned her.

OX is having it rough. But, he finds the painting and discovers the secret. He plans to return to the Eastern Capital. I know he's gonna be fucked though. No marriage and no support from Emperor or anyone. Even his friend gonna leave his ass. I'm pretty sure Empress and her supporters will make it out fine. GQF too. I know he gonna get captured and tortured. I know for a fact OX will come back to and with nothing. Pan'er will gloat in front of his useless ass. Sanniang is getting lots of support from her new babe.

Np and I knowww.... I just need to see the previews for 35-36 to see if they are actually back together. There is a clip when GQF pulls Pan'er on a bridge. It's not shown in the previews. But the preview for 34 and 35 show the bridge. She leaves hesitantly so I don't think they made up yet. I'll know for sure in 35-36 peviews I think. It's hard for me to watch until I know they get back together.

I low key feel wtf though? All that building and communication, then just splat. Yeah it's a big misunderstanding...but still cringe. Fate playing tricks on our leads.

He couldn't face her with the fact that the CSO were the ones responsible for incriminating and exiling Pan'er and her family. It looks like the charge was for insubordination (going against orders), but Pan'er's dad was trying to do the right thing.

He left the money for Pan'er to open the restaurant, but it was knocked over by the wind and Zhaodi covered it up unknowingly. GQF is on official business by then and leaves, but decides he wants to go back to see her. However, he was seriously injured in an accident. ---Literally everything that can go wrong does. GQF finds out what happened to Pan'er's family and can't face her. He refuses to see her or leave a flower. GQF visits when Pan'er is sleeping. GQF flipped the bank note so it wouldn't be obvious what it was. Exceptionally strong wind pushes the note down, and it still falls face down. Zhaodi picks up the note, doesn't check it and buries it in a stack of paper. GQF gets sent away for official business. He gets injured and can't return.

Pan'er probably thinks she got abandoned (again), and fate keeps GQF away. Writers...why?? But, at least I can imagine the resolution. Pan'er is going to eventually find the bank note like way later, realizing he didn't break his promise to her. They will have the heart to heart about what the CSO did and why he couldn't face her.

The few remaining scenes not yet shown in the opening and ending of them together is after everything has been resolved. Looks like shopping for a house, hopefully preparing for the wedding. Might be the final episodes. I hope to see a wedding episode.

It's the emperor. So it's a big compliment with just him being there. That's why they are so shocked. It's going to be a misunderstanding fest until 34 I think. Where they finally meet up again. Zhaodi done fucked up. GQF too for just leaving like that. Pan'er probably thinks he abandoned her til she sees the bank note. It smells like GQF couldn't face her.

I felt this is to build up how GQF world is going to be turned upside down. He's always been confident about what he wanted. Now he is going to be totally confused and lost.

Worth the watch. If you can wait til all the episodes are released. A lot of stuff happens during the second half. First half had a lot of good moments. The first half is mainly to establish the relationship between the leads.

My guess is they break up due to the fact that GQF's father may have been involved with Pan'er's father's death. Afterwards a disaster strikes the capital and several shops including Pan'er's teahouse is destroyed. Pan'er who no longer has the backing of GQF decides to collaborate with Chi (whose businesses was also destroyed) to open a restaurant.

Its not that GQF doesn't want to help. But Pan'er is refusing his help. If they really broke up on bad terms. It's also probably half business half to spite GQF. GQF and Chi were childhood rivals/"playmates".

The previews go up to 38 this week. No way this drags til the final 2 episodes. We gonna find out. If I was a betting person. They get back by 34 Marriage episode 36

This was something I hoped for too. But the way GQF was crying. I thought he was really hurt with what Pan'er said. But then again, maybe he's just sad cause he misses her. Maybe they are both just putting on a real good show.

My initial thought was GQF dumps her due to a dialogue in the preview. But in a clip it's titled Pan'er dumps GQF. Might be a mistranslation. I rather Pan'er dump GQF. My theory is she just got emotional finding out about her father's death. She never stopped loving him. Just can't deal with it atm. GQF is too weak to do anything crazy and try to reconcile the relationship. He still needs to deal with his family and uncle. The whole story built him up to not be a second OY. So I'd be disappointed if he called it off due to the blood feud.

He needs to give her space and she needs time to deal with the emotions. In the meantime, GQF continues to help her in the shadow while dealing with his Uncle's faction. They continue to miss each other more and more until finally they meet again and make up.

Yes. But Pan'er also breaks up with GQF. Chi Pan partners with Pan'er to open a restaurant. Their respective businesses were destroyed.

GQF was promoted to Commissioner which was Jing Lei's position. If Jing Lei did not resign, was reassigned or promoted out, GQF wouldn't be able to get a promotion. The Commissioner is the higest rank for the Capital Security Office.

I don't think so. Based on her attire I want to guess it's after she opens the restaurant. The stuff she will wear becomes fancy after they open.

It's for GQF's late mother. She divorced her husband who was Mr. Xiao. When she divorced she and GQF took back the maiden name of Gu. Since she divorced her burial was no longer honored under the Xiao family. She kind of became a nobody. So GQF wanted to get the conferred title to honor her. It's the whole reason he joined the CSO in the first place.

The problem is how Chinese productions work. They are on a really tight schedule and sometimes just run out of budget towards the end. Sometimes they shoot before the script is even completed. That's why you get really weird inconsistencies to the story sometimes. Since a lot of productions are just dubbed over, they can change anthing. Scandals can also cause a lot of problems. Stories have to be changed sometimes because of the above mentioned. I heard that WRTW was supposed to be like 45 episodes, but then stuff happened and they ended up with 40. The original ending would've been different if they had the extra episodes. There is a new show that was just released on iQiyi. They deepfaked one of the actors due to a scandal. That show finished shooting a while back, but was just released after they finished the post production and deepfake. It's crazy sometimes.
