I agree. He has shown so many humane, kind acts toward her that even the coldest heart should be at least a little softened by now. No wonder they cast this actress—she’s superb at portraying these kinds of roles, and slow-burn romance seems to be what she does best. Though we have to admit she was alot more cheerful and happy with her adopted parents and Han.

This is one of those historical dramas you wish had 100 episodes. So many character stories to still fit in with only nine episodes left.

Cracks me up with the ML and any royalty just walk into the Xie Hall whenever the Xie have internal harem issues. Without any announcement at all.

Of course she deserves her hatred absolutely, but she has saved them so many times that that in itself goes against everything she wanted to avenge her family and was a huge part of the reason ML fell in love with her and its not his fault he is totally unaware of her real identity, only then will he know why her resentment is so deep and long-term. He is only human.

Ep 20 I think FL is being inconsiderate with ML needing to keep himself safe from the wrath of the Emperor and he did say now is not the time to deal with her father. No, she drops him straightaway so shes not that sincere towards him either, just another tool for her revenge.

My gosh, I’m watching this and *Against the Current* simultaneously as the episodes drop each day, and I must say, like in other Chinese historical dramas I’ve seen, the way daughters are betrothed and married off for the patriarch or family to gain power or keep enemies at bay is inhumane. The father here is one of the coldest, cruellest characters I’ve ever watched—creepy, overconfident, and I can’t wait to see him fall flat on his backside.

I’m loving the FL, but it’s episode 34 and I’m really feeling sorry for the ML, who is nothing but nice, kind, forgiving, and most of all, patient. Honestly, she really needs to remember that she and her parents have what they do because of the kindness of the Lin family, who gave such rewards. I’m not saying she should forgive him for forcing the marriage, but she could be a lot kinder toward him by now.

hmmm understandable she won't talk to him, but not acknowledging the elders is a bit far. They didn't want this marriage either.

Exactly, he is the kindness and gentle demeanour she so needs right now. I usually persecute 2ML quite early in dramas but cant with him.

Ep 39 - and FL is so selfish not giving up the embroidery pavilion, considering it has been problematic to ML family throughout her marriage. As long as she is there the OU family will frame her and ML over and over again

This FL does not deserve ML shes been as conniving, deceitful aand downright liaar like the concubines, this ML is surrounded by warped dangerous women including his mother and good job she finally got rejected by ML after all her rejection towards him for two whole years.

EP 21- The concubines are so mentally unwell, especially evil Qaio, talking like a little entitled kid. Been there for 2 years, never been slept with by ML and still tries and comes on to him like a desperate woman. Ep 24 - stupid Concubine Qaio still looking surprised, hurt and pissed off when hearing the ML and FL slept in same bed, come on lady they are husband and wife!!! Ep 25-she still wont let him kiss her s if shes the catch of the day, sick of those chinese women who get fish eyes when ml kisses their cheek. boring.

Ep 18 and the FL is still acting like she is doing something immoral when to close to the ML or in the same bed, its sickening and boring. The part where they wake up together fully clothed and all she does is straightn her hairpin to go for her morning mother inlaw visit, how filthy not to get changed and have a wash? The mother of ML is a nasty POS who interferes in her son's life and hes weak az when it comes to her. Useless.

Nothing wrong with ML, its the FL that has zero chemistry with her ML co-stars. She looks too much of a child with these men. Also she is not attractive as other chinese actresses, I find it hard shipping her with anyone. Her grin borders on creepy.

I find him really handsome, cant believe he's been a supporting actor for the majority of his acting career.
