up to ep 27 and I find it so irritating that in Chinese palace historicals, how easy it is for people to just waltz on in and kill people in prison and make it look like a suicide. FL is also getting on my nerves with her unintelligent lost in space look she has, and without any sensuality whereas ML is one of the hottest Chinese actors out, he really plays his romance parts really well, pit he does not get paired up with the actress he deserves.
Even though the subs are not that great, even if they were, the story is so full of gaps, it makes you wonder how the episodes seem to jump a whole story line and into the next. Really confusing. Also it is amazing how the princes wives dont seem to age, yet it has been 14 years since the series started.
Also I have reached past half-way of the series, and that Mongolian princess has amazingly gotten away with all her spying and scheming, always hidden in dark corners with her smirking smile. Can't wait to see her get busted. Irritating character that really does nothing but hang around like a third wheel everywhere. Has also managed to remain unmarried since she got there lol
Gosh that young emperor before Zhu Di is so arrogant and dumb.
I decided to stop watching it because I found the over-the-top humor unbearable. Although I used to enjoy it, I now prefer watching more serious content. I plan to pick it up again later when I am in a better mood. lol
Yes many of their historicals as well, but not a huge fan of Wuxia, which seems to be the theme atm with them. Though I just watched one of the best c-historicals ever - The Prisoner of Beauty which just had the right amount of humour which didnt affect the dark side like The Double which was over the top.
It was refreshing to watch a drama without any women involved; it was pure testosterone, BUT are they robots? No pain, slashed everywhere on the body, still alive
Halfway to the end, awesome fighting, but frustrated that he can waste men in the dozens all at the same time but some of his one on one's are sloppy and not very good fighting. Cant believe so many gangsters are useless with knives.
As dumb as I am for scrolling through comments, I just got spoiled by this comment and I'm only halfway in.. thanks…
This drama is riddled with comments that should be spoilers, the worse I have ever seen!! I just scroll down reviews just to get a feel whether I should watch it or not but god damn this comment here takes the cake, telling us already how one of the main characters is going to die for petes sakes but Im already in past 12 episodes so feel I should just carry on. What a bummer.
I didn't like how Ha Neul rushed to Ji Min's bedroom and stopped to tell Jae Yeon that she was going to invite him on a dinner date, especially when it was obvious that Jae Yeon and Ji Min had strong feelings for each other. Ha Neul comes across as one of those scheming second female leads who emotionally blackmail the female lead over the same love interest. Once again, like in other dramas, Ha Neul was subtly rejected—she needs to read the room. It's very disappointing to see in the previews for the next episode that Ha Neul is going to pull the drama queen act and start crying, as if Ji Min was hers first. Hasn't the tide turned for Ha Neul? In the early episodes, she was the first to connect with all the men, often leaving the other women feeling awkward. However, as new women have entered the scene, she has gradually been sidelined by each of the men and She can only revert back to Ji Min, with whom she has only had dinner once.
Wow, that was one of the best historical dramas I've ever seen, and I’ve watched hundreds! Every episode was packed with excitement and thrills. The ML and FL had incredible chemistry—probably the best I’ve ever seen—though her whispering voice did annoy me at times. Fantastic job overall. I just wish it had been longer!.
Gosh, the FL is such a know-it-all. I've never seen a drama where the general lets his wife have so much influence over his camp and other affairs. He seems a bit wimpy when it comes to the FL.
