It is a mystery to me as well. What was the point of such an ending after building the suspense for so long? The writer must have assumed that we had been waiting for the big reveal of the mystery. The romance ended ambiguously, so they did not provide at least 100 percent relief that our MLs are happy together with some nice moments of them as a couple. They choose to make the end a mystery as well.
It seems that nobody cared about the viewers and left us pondering what was the point of so many events, details etc.
I feel a little bit sad for PYG and CWJ but then I ask myself: Could they have not anticipated the disappointment of the viewers?
