Ying Yuan is not that different from Tang Zhou really. He is just older and wiser. lol C'mon, he would have never given up all his base cultivation before getting out of there with Yan Dan safe and sound. 😂 That was a wrong move on Tang Zhou's part imo.

The problem with Ying Yuan was that he didn't understand love. He thought he could reason with it like he reasoned with everything. He couldn't understand why someone would choose death over staying alive just because of love. He thought he could reason with Yan Dan, but she was an impulsive young girl in love for the first time. All she wanted was for him to confess that he loved her, and all he wanted was for her to prioritise her own health and safety at all times. So, basically, they couldn't understand each other and that drove a wedge between them.

I totally agree with this. The main difference between old Ying Yuan and young Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou is that one hid his true feelings, whereas the other didn't hold it back. Like Tang Zhou, Ying Yuan defied the heaven rules quite a few times to save Yan Dan.

These sort of complaints are pet peeves of mine. lol Besides, Tang Zhou's absence was felt throughout episode 40. His sadness and loneliness overshadow everything that happens there. And that was intentional.

This rant about screen time is getting old already. C'mon, people! Cheng Yi has appeared in all episodes. All of them. In contrast, there were episodes that Ray Chang wasn't even there. So, do the maths.🤣​🤣​🤣​ Sometimes, the leads might not get the spotlight in certain episodes, hence they might have less screen time. However, that is absolutely normal for a Cdrama that has more than 24 episodes.

On a serious note, I'm not going to take sides because both of them are hurting and I can understand them both. In Heaven, Ying Yuan was all reason, whereas Yan Dan was all heart. Now, Yan Dan is trying to do what Ying Yuan wanted her to do all along, love herself first and foremost.

Ying Yuan's first plan was to send her to the mortal world with her memories intact. But after seeing her being so persistent in trying to forget him, telling him that she rather be dead than keep her memories of him, he told her he would help her forget her past. That was sort of her choice really.

I don't know, but after she said she was close to Huan Qing I was like, "are you friend or foe? Is he using you?"

At first, I thought it was weird too. lol But it hatched because it sensed Yan Dan's presence.

On a side note, now we know what was that thing that fell into the lotus pond when Ying Yuan was fighting Hades.
