They decided to take the pills and unalive themselves, because even though they stated they would be slaves or from what I remember they got sent to that place that practices "music" and "dance", I write those in quotes because the music and dance was just an embellishment, it was really just a brothel and the women did not want to succumb to the type of life of no self respect and self dignity. So they chose to end their lives and keep the self respect and dignity intact. That's how I understood it. Hope that helps.

That was also when the dialogue on if she was a Ministers daughter/granddaughter came up and she questioned, would he still marry her without her parents permission if she was of noble birth, or would he have deemed that disrespectful. Him forcefully marrying her is not giving her any respect as he thinks it is, because she is of lower birthright, he sees it an an honour to her, which she does not.

🤣 our girl is just out here working, making her money, trying to work towards her freedom and here's this man with hearts in he eyes simply because she exists, I know we are sprinkling romance because that will be the direction for them but I almost want to tell our ml to leave our girl alone 😂 its not her fault she's smart and beautiful and amazing😊

On a separate note, It also makes think of how men in those days just felt like they could possess whatever they wanted and didn't give women the option to even decide or choose.

Ooh let me know how Spring of the blade goes. I haven't started yet, will only attempt to watch later this evening. And yes, I am also liking their cp, I haven't pictured them together before but that's what makes it all the more interesting ☺ fingers crossed 🤞

I also don't like that the format has dropped to 12 episodes and we get rushed/mediocre endings

My favourite kdrama so far for this year has to be Agent Kim Reactivated, I enjoyed it way too much. Now I'm waiting for Remarried Empress - really want to watch this. I also saw Take charge of my heart and Doctor X starting soon ☺ those caught my attention
