I absolutely enjoyed all 3 seasons, I would rate all three 8.5/10. The plot isn't anything new or mindblowing, but the chemistry between the leads is the best I've seen in like 50 dramas that I've watched. It's so natural, their kisses are so passionate and they're really comfortable with each other. There's a lot of banter and teasing, like a real couple would be. The most important thing is that both characters retained their personalities after they got into a relationship. What happens a lot in dramas is that a character starts out with a distinct personality but as the love story progresses they all of a sudden become flat and it's like the relationship becomes their whole personality. A great example would be the main lead in Moonlight Mystique, I hated his lack of personality after they got togethwr. In this show though they kept the banter between the leads and their relationship felt very realistic. The amount of flirting was so fun to watch! The female lead can be a bit annoying, especially in season 1 where she yells all her lines but she tones it down in the later seasons. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a cute romance filled with chemistry!
Couldn't finish the first episode, FL kinda has an annoying face, like she's too cute for a grown woman or something. Also she keeps forcing herself on him, don't like that kind of dynamics
So this started out great, cute couple and an interesting enough premise. The first 10 episodes or so I binged and enjoyed, I could even understand why they made them lose their memories, can't be too smooth for them to get together. But then the story went complete off track, there are barely any scenes between the ML, which for me was the reason I was watching this in the first place. The misunderstanding with who she was looking for got annoying as it was drawn out, instead of listening to her heart which was obviously telling her 13th prince was the one, she kept holding on to that the 4th was who she was looking for. Also the way everyone fell in love with her when she's nothing special (i don't mean look wise) was unbelievable. She has zero personality except that she likes justice and is caring or something, you couldn't even tell she's from the future like in other timetravel dramas. She just travelled back and the first episode she was already like a woman from that time, kinda disappointing that the timetravel didn't make a big impact on the story. I skipped a lot of boring plots and I've read spoilers that it only gets worse as the focus shifts from the main couple to politics by 20 or so. Also read spoilers that the sister will be plotting against her all the time and even kills people, but for some reason the 14th prince is still in love with the sister and she gets a happy ending and that's a plot I don't wanna watch. To me the 14th prince likes justice and having such a wife sounds like a frustrating watch to me. Offically gonna drop this after they get married.
I'm on episode 8 and I didn't expect to like this as much as I do. It's definitely a low budget series, the clothes look cheap for example and the storyline is ridiculous at times. But the chemistry between the main leads is really good, ML does most of the heavy lifting though. I find the FL quite annoying, the actress literally screams all her lines it's so annoying. Could've been a strong awesome character who stands up for herself if she wasn't so annoying with all the screaming.
This is such a strange show. I'm on episode 10 and I'm really enjoying it, but the plot is the strangest I've seen and I've watched like 50 dramas lol. The person who came up with this must've been on crack. ML for some reason wants to be her brother yet he makes inappropriate moves all the time and clearly likes her, couldn't they have gone for cousin if they wanted to include that he just wanted a family? At least that would've been acceptable in those times. This way it's just super weird. He's manipulative, obsessed with her and it seems like as a chief he has nothing better to do than stalk this girl. Yet I really like him lol. They have so much chemistry, it's insane but you just can't help but root for him. I just wish they hadn't made such a mess of their relationship with the whole siblings part. Then there's 2nd male lead, he has the personality of a cardboard box and just stares blankly at FL, no chemistry whatsoever but she keeps running after him, so frustrating. She tells him she wants to elope with him and the guy has 0 reaction, literally just a blank face when the camera pans to him. The actor is cute, but not pulling off his role. I have no idea how they will stretch this story for another 30 episodes, but it's probably gonna be insane so I'm seated.
I skipped a lot of the story, so I don't know if it's actually good or bad but I did watch all of the romance and this is one of my fave romances! They spend a lot of time together and go through a lot of stuff so the build up feels super natural. Male lead is kinda toxic and obsessed with her, but I actually didn't mind cause she loved him too so she needed someone who wouldn't waver to make her realise her true feelings. Also they are both so beautiful, it's hard not to ship them! Solid 9 for the romance
Do ML has finally revealed his identity, I really like it. They do talk a lot in this series and so many characters are mentioned that sometimes I don't even bother to understand what they're talking about lol. Chemistry between the main leads is great so far, mostly due to ML and his acting. They have a lot of scenes together in the first 6 episodes. Idk if I really care about the story (the amount of times the aunt is mentioned is ridiculous) but I do care about a lot of the characters, mostly invested in the main leads story so I will keep watching.
Dropped this at episode 2, I don't really see the chemistry between the leads. Also the FL talks so much to herself outloud, they should've made it an inner monologue. Story didn't pull me in enough to continue. Also not a fan of the master and disciple love story, never seen that before it's kinda disturbing
This show was really good! Story was great, hardly had to fast forward and while the romances weren't all that, the story made up for it. Also, I choose to believe it ended at 29 because episode 30 is just ridiculous. To me it's a story about letting go of obsessions, something FL did when she let go of the husband, Mu Yao letting go of her revenge and the Lord finally letting go of FL and letting her be with the person who loves her most. He literally fought for years just to know where she is. Even the lord (im bad w names) had to give it to him, that's dedication. And the lord knew he couldn't put her first so his character growth was great in the end. The only thing that bothers me is how in episode 30 he asks his mother to marry her in the real world, but wouldn't the same problems arise with him not being able to put her first? Her being caged in that palace, no freedom whatsoever? It made sense to me that she ended up with the body guard in a remote village, they seemed so happy and peaceful without all the scheming and stuff. Her calling out for the bodyguard as soon as she woke up was heartbreaking so I'll just choose to view 29 as the last episode. This was an 8.5/10 for me
Im half way through episode 16 and I don’t know if I want to continue. I loved the first 13 or so episodes.…
Felt the same way after finishing all 64 episodes just for XL. Like I didn't even care about FL anymore at that point, she lost all her personality after she went back to princess mode. And then she was turned into a total mess who spend her days crying over a limp noodle who was too stupid to stop his family's schemes, while saying before I won't cry over a man lol. XL became my favorite cdrama character actually, I was waiting for his scenes basically he was the ML in my eyes. His actions influenced the plot the most gor example by bringing back limp noodle to FL and teaching her to protect herself also saving her life during those 40 years. Ok I did like her cousin as well, his acting was so good every time he drunkenly confessed. Broke my heart when he spoke about all the marriages he had to go through and that he didn't want her to congratulate him cause than it'd feel as if it's not real. But in the end the fact that she chose who she chose got me raging tbh.
This is such a great series. I love the chemistry between the main leads so much. Nothing beats a good enemies to lovers trope. The plot is also good so far at episode 20. The only annoying thing is that she refuses to kiss him even though she loves him. And he been trying haha. Kinda acting like she's a child and not a grown woman.
Currently on episode 22 and I have to say that they have one of the best chemistry I've seen in a drama. Their kisses seem so natural and there are other scenes filled with sexual tension that they're pulling off wonderfully! Story is meh but the main couple is definitely worth watching. I did ff a lot of scenes later on and was happy it was over, but it's at least an 8.3 for me
The romance, the journey, the characterisation, more or less is not too far from the novel itself. If I may defend…
Thanks for your perspective! I did find it an interesting story overall, but I guess if you don't like a character it's difficult to continue watching.
Good to know , hope won't see you there again after you saying all this
Man chill, it's okay not to like the same things. No hate for this show, just don't like that they added romance to a brotherhood show even tho it's based on a novel so they had to
Dropped this after the first episode, it didn't grip me at all. Felt very slow and the couple has zero chemistry. I loved ML in Lost You Forever but here he has a permanent blank face and I found FL kinda boring too.
I just started the first episode and it's so good! I dropped like 7 shows in the first couple of pisodes before finding this lol. FL is so gorgeous and I really like her first encounter and chemistry with ML. Hope it stays good!
I have a love hate relationship with this drama. I quite enjoyed it, but I think the romance wasn't handled well. She spends like 20 episodes of the drama engaged to that little boy and the only reason they break up is cause they were forced to. If it was like 3 episodes, fine, but they wasted so much time on that plotline. It took her so long to like ML back, even though he was straight forward, saved her life many times and was gazing at her so lovingly during one of the most sexual tension filled scenes in all of the cdramas I watched when she removed that arrow for him. Yet she was still unmoved and even accepted his marriage proposal unwillingly. Then after they finally got together and that revenge story line happened I was so frustrated with her. I get being upset for a bit, but she stayed mad for 5 years, even after he came back. This was the guy who betrayed his dad and killed him, he's been planning to avenge him since he was literally 5 and she had the nerve to be so upset about it? Was he supposed to give up on his life's purpose for love? I really respected his decision and the fact that she stayed mad for so long makes her entitled in my eyes. The decision to lock herself up for 5 years in the palace was so weird too, she definitely had a strange relationship with that consort and needed some therapy. I actually wished ML would've died in that fire so FL could get her shit straight.
