Lol no need for a personal attack cause I think this show sucks. Slice of life is my favorite genre, so I know…
You’re the one replying in paragraphs to every negative review. Do you see me commenting on every 10 rated review 😂You’re so weird, just enjoy the show and accept that people have different opinions

You’re here writing paragraphs on my review, it’d be rude not to respond. I don’t care if people like it, I wrote a review so other people can make a decision whether to watch it or not. I still think an 8,9 is overrated for this show and no discussion is gonna change that. Enjoy the show tomorrow and don’t let the negative reviews get you down, it’s not that serious or deep

You seem very passionate about defending this show. Why are you so obsessed with whether people like it or not? I’ve seen plenty of people drop the show on Reddit just because they find it boring, do they need to explain in detail to you why they dropped it and defend their decision?

I tried explaining it, but you seem unable to let it go :’) I don’t like this show, you do and good for you. Everyone is free to write a review, write a positive one yourself if it bothers you so much that people are leaving mixed reviews here.

ps. there’s a new negative review posted you can reply to in case you missed that one

You say that the romance isn’t the main focus, yet it’s 90% of the show. If you’re not invested in the romance, then you’re not gonna enjoy this one.

I appreciate the effort they put into the show, but I don’t think me not liking it is that deep. Some shows grip you, others don’t. There are many negative reviews here that rate it below 7. My appreciation of the effort put in is why I rated it a 7. And people are allowed to have expectations, don’t we all have them when watching a new show?

I guess we should just agree to disagree. I gave it a 7, which is not bad as I appreciate the acting in this show. The story is not for me personally as I’m not invested in their romance because of the lack of build up which I mentioned before. People are free to like it and it’s obviously very popular. I just happen to not like it as much besides the great acting mostly from the ML.

Your comments are so condescending, yet you say I’m getting defensive :’)

Thanks for the long explanation, but this show isn’t as deep as you’re making it out to be. It has every kdrama cliche. Once again ironic that you say “if you’re looking for something easier to understand” when this show has been nothing but predictable.

Nowhere did I say it has to be like Mr. Sunshine, since it’s a different show and a different genre. That was an example of a good show with good build up.

I don’t believe that two people who have spoken to each other over the phone like 3 times can fall in love suddenly. What’s so weird about that? You’re really making this show out to be deeper than it is, when people who enjoy this show also realise it’s incredibly corny and say that if it wasn’t for the actor’s acting it would be crap.

She was kidnapped 3 times!! And we’re talking realism here lol

You’re clearly not the target audience for this show. It’s about the messy, realistic aspects of relationships,…
Lol no need for a personal attack cause I think this show sucks. Slice of life is my favorite genre, so I know a thing or two about slow burn and messy relationships.

The irony in your comment is that it isn’t a slow burn romance at all, but a “non realistic fairy tale” instead. It went from they don’t talk to each other to they love each other so deeply in the span of like 2 episodes.
Is it too much to ask to have a build up to them loving each other? My guy “loved” her for 20 years but hasn’t even spoken to her till like 2 episodes. Where is the slow burn there, they just did a 180 and are sooo in love yet know nothing about each other.

Maybe you should’ve checked my watch list before commenting something stupid about me only liking simple rom coms lol. Mr. Sunshine is my favorite drama and a well executed slow burn love story instead of this crap. And nowhere in your comment do you explain why these two people are in love or when it exactly happened. Because it’s a lazy childhood connection trope which they use so they don’t have to show us the process of actually falling in love and why these two characters are in fact in love.

I feel offended when people say "It's a romcom, why were you expecting a plot?" lol. In that case I can just watch Youtube shorts of this series and not miss anything?

Mr. Queen and Gauss Electronics were both so good!

The sad fact is when the comments section is like this the people enjoying the drama just don't bother commenting…
I mean, it's the most dropped drama on the r/kdrama "shows I dropped" thread this month. Probably for a reason, I don't think people are hating on it just for fun. Also, I've mostly read negative comments on r/kdrama outside of the official episode threads. What I'm trying to say is that people calling criticizing a flawed show "toxic negativity" and "hating" aren't really helping either. I'm allowed to not like it and point out flaws. When I started watching this show it had a 8.6 rating on here and the comments were highly positive. Imagine my surprise when I realised that the show was all romantic scenes, no substance. That's why it's important for people to leave negative reviews as well, it would've saved me some time.

Let's bring the ratings higher. This drama deserves above 9 for all the happiness that is bringing us!
This show is pretty bad. The rating is supposed to be about quality, not about how much joy it brings you. Objectively this show is more like a 5/10 because the plot is really bad. Non existent even and people are only watching it for Lee Junho. Imagine deciding to watch this show expecting a quality and you get this show because you guys inflated the rating.

Review King the Land
I agree, the first few episodes were so bad. I find the show has gotten less awkward around episode 5, but I still dropped it because it's nothing new so it bores me. I don't like the same clichés all the time and this show is just one big cliché. A lot of people seem to love all the tropes but I like to see something new or at least something self aware like Business Proposal which did the tropes perfectly. I would rate this a 7, the current rate of 8.6 is surprosingly high in my opinion.

You don't like this kind of drama doesn't mean everyone is the same as you. Remember everyone has different taste.…
Bad reviews are necessary too. It helps me choose if I should watch a show or not. If people didn't post negative reviews, then all the reviews would be positive and they would have no point at all. You dropped 9.0 shows and that's exactly my point, it was probably overrated just like KTL at 8.5. It saves people some time if they see a couple negative reviews. Starting shows and dropping them is a waste of your time so I appreciate when people share their opinion, even if it's negative. Doesn't mean I'm a hater, I just think the show is bad and I'm trying to save people some time so they don't end up having to drop another show like I did.

Yeah I was being kinda mean I suppose. I actually liked A Business Proposal and What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (til episode 10), so I do like this genre when executed right. I still think KTL is bad and that people who decide to watch it based on the 8.5 are gonna be really disappointed. A lot of people have been negative about it too, but I'm glad you enjoy it. Just trying to warn people that the 8.5 is definitely not accurate when compared to other 8.5 shows on here!

Would not recommend this drama. The humor falls flat, the chemistry between the leads is non existent and the writing and editing are not it. I feel bad for Lee Junho that he chose such a disappointing project after The Red Sleeve. It felt very awkward and cringy, I dropped it after the 3rd episode. It's an insult to actual good dramas that this drama has a current rate of 8.5. The realistic rate would be between 5 and 6 tbh.

Title Mr. Sunshine
This is the second Kdrama I ever watched, I haven't found one better since and I've watched over a 100. Absolutely amazing. Took me a while to get into it after the first episode, but once it gets going it is incredible. All the characters are 10/10, so is the story and the scenary.

Title The Forbidden Marriage Spoiler
ikr, he was so darn adorable when he went to meet his bride, i fell for him.. and the main couple is not working…
I wouldn't finish it If I were you tbh. I also had second lead syndrome as I just couldn't get WHY she liked the king so much, except voor the fact that she felt sorry for him. She lied to him about being able to channel his dead wife for almost the whole run of the series. Also, after watching the Red Sleeve I couldn't imagine her being locked up in the palace if she married him, it sounds miserable. Shin Won and Sorang had way better chemistry, a better background story and I imagine she'd be happier outside the palace. So yeah I ended up fast forwarding through the last couple episodes and rated it a 8 just because I really liked the first couple of episodes when I still hoped for a Shin Won Sorang ending :(

I agree. The first few episodes were mysterious and left me sitting on the edge of my seat but when they got to the beach the series completely lost its mysterious vibe. Seeing hundreds of people there made it a lot less special, I liked it more when they were meeting a couple people every game not knowing how many of them were there and why. The games also lost their edge after they got to the beach, knowing there's hundreds of people there and a whole ass cult made it lose its appeal to me.

I agree. I just don't get the hype for this drama and I usually love slice of life dramas! To be fair, I fastforwarded through a lot of it but it was just so incredibly boring to me. I feel like comparing it to Reply 1988 like a lot of people do is blasphemy lol. Top notch acting from the FL though, but her drama Mr. Sunshine is streets ahead compared to this one!
