Recently I watched and commented Musashi no Rondo; the show is still not available with full EN subs, but I managed to get the story and mood/feelings. I think that would be one of the specific nice feature of J-dramas: although shorter in lengths, it let you imagine the flavored/spiced interactions between main characters.

Movie is from 2008; I suppose at that time culture in KR was quite misogynistic, so the movie was a cry to defeat the norms. Currently the challenge moved to individual freedom & happiness versus marriage responsibilities & self-respect. Recomend to watch Kanojo ga Sore mo Ai to Yobunara for a perspective closer to current times.

I watched this movie in the wake of Kanojo ga Sore. While MFGM shows selfish central character, KGS dwells into central character with mutual respect. At the end of the day, I think these kind of relationships could strive only based on reciprocal love & respect. From cultural perspective, it could work in countries where people focus in present, with little concern about future; also as cultural treat, paramount is strong focus on individual well-being (strong egocentric perception) with perception that life is actually a lonely journey between birth and death.
Common lesson I took from these performances: be brave when making you life-bending decision, accept that many times your current decision will be challenged by future situations => be brave again to make another decision at that moment in the future.

I was not able to watch the spin-off eps.

Because the happy-ending of Sannin Fufu is based on them postponing any discussion about sensitive topics (kids-parents relation, including legal aspects; jealousy bcs "unfair" couple relations, including sex&romance; potential career threats bcs their relation would not be accepted in their companies).

I think you could have enhanced spectator experience if you would see "Kanojo ga Sore mo Ai to Yobunara" beside "Sannin Fufu"; the former (KGSMATY) could be a possible scenario what would happen after a while with throuple of the later.

Now after finishing eps.10...
My bad: I thought the story will get a realistic turn with FL and SML giving in to societal norms expectations. Although FL and SML were attracted to each other from first sight, they were close in age, still they were not sharing same expectation / view of life (see their different preferences when they were looking for a new place to live together).
Good thing (also for me as a spectator):
FL got together with ML, choosing the comfort of a known person (almost family type) and loving man instead of the challenging new life with SML, an ambitious/perfection-driven and egocentric man.
Kudos to FL actress, Rin Takanashi, and both ML & SML for immersing us in the story, so that by the end of 9th eps I would still believe in a different ending.

I can only warmly recommend you all 3 seasons + movie; I found myself enjoying each episode like sipping a good drink with a beautiful landscape in front of me.

Technically, I wonder whether that vase hit/killed Saeko...
My understanding was similar, just that Arisa burst also because that would have been 2nd time Saeko took somebody precious away from her.
Another main symbol of the drama: life goes in circles and one need to improve her/himself so that you won't get in the same predicament.
While Arisa burst could indicate she wants to go out of this circle, I wonder what will happen with Saeko, pregnant and cheated again.
Will Saeko let Shotaru in her life? Or, injured by vase, she will lose again the baby and return to her bad times?

As I do not speak Japanese, I could not understand the ending. pls share with me your conclusions / thoughts. many thanks

that was exactly my take from this part: KD was a smart & respectful man who managed excellent the sensitive situation of an unrequited love from Dongxia Queen.

Yet, to artificially shrink FL traits from brilliant strategist, skilled in martial arts, extensive networking to a passive partner, just decorative role... that was to much; just to not overshadow ML. If they could find another execution in this respect, my rating would have been >9.5.

Totally agree to your disappointment how they rolled out FL story in the 2nd half; a clear sign of lacking professionalism from the writer/director side (or who took this decision). the only explanation - though quite shabby one - the title is "legend of Zhang Hai", so the hero should be Zhang Hai and any other CP should take the consequent place to avoid shadow him. quite a pity!

A drama with really interesting & challenging themes - at least IMO for Japanese society. I am from Europe, so for me it's interesting to see how JP people deal with these challenges.
I also enjoyed the performance of Rika Adachi, it was convincing and she managed to save potential drift of the Character Played (CP) toward "slutty" perception.
The ending was positive, encouraging people to pursue their way to "happy relations".
(altough that way looks cumbersome and convoluted, important is to reach your destination).

Indeed, I am more into "adult romance" = more real relationships compared to standard MDL romance. I like to see complex CP and how they deal with situations where they are outside of societal norms (some of these norms are so outdated and people are sandwiched between rules/norms and their actual needs/feelings/wishes or sometimes common sense solutions).
Now I am following Musashi no Rondo, Mamono, Shikyu Renai.
For fun, I am really enjoying 'Nami Uraraka ni".
I plan also Sannin Fufu, but I wait to have all eps available on Netflix.
I've seen already "my one night rule" and I liked it (my score 9.5); when you finish it, maybe we could exchange our impressions on MDL page of that drama... what do you say?

for 2nd, I think Beetle is another child.
I will try to watch and self-translate the special episode in which they try to close the lose-ends.
More important is the message: both Ima and Hisame have moved on and continue living true to themselves.
