I feel the same, and the way he reacted when Foei told him and Hia Yi that Kirin was playing in the other bar…
I agree HiaLian reacted suspiciously, but the brand name of his water may not be connected to this. It's Kilen, and that's from HiaLian's full name which is Lian Kilen Wang. ;)
Btw, I have a crazy head canon where Sandee is some kind of godly being but upset his (also godly) parents or seniors or sm by disrespecting and playing with humans and their emotions. So they took away most of his powers and made him live among the humans until he learns to respect (and even love) them. But since he's petulant and arrogant he tries to use this opportunity to show his parents / seniors that humans are just their puppets by randomly picking people that he decides to make fall in love. He can barely use the feeble remnants of his power to create a link between these people and show them visions of what their relationship could be if they fell in love. But the humans keep defying the partners he chose for them and having their own emotions. Ultimately, he himself cannot obey his own ideas bc no matter how much he tries to look down on the humans, more and more he can't help being impressed and intrigued by them, one in particular, and he actually ends up falling in love with that human. Well, that's the current version, with him messing stuff up and falling in love himself, in season 1 I thought of him as more of a (mischievous but orderly) cupid who's rather helping the couples that are "supposed to be together". The reason my brain fabricated this is that I needed a backstory to make sense of the visions bc they totally took me by surprise in season 1.
I feel like people are being pretty hard on this drama. I read a lot of comments before starting to watch it a few days ago, and from the comments I thought it would be all over the place, but I actually think it has an interesting storyline and I like a lot of the characters. It's just too slow for my taste (not the plot overall but each scene individually). Unfortunately the CP I'm backing most doesn't appear to have the best chances of happening.
Unfortunately, this series was not my cup of tea... Some things that didn't work for me: One of the problems, I think, was that I had to warm up to too many different characters in too little time. Also, I had trouble finding the emotional development (or plot in general) believable sometimes (e.g. the "white" girl falling in love with Don in a matter of a few hours). And I was a bit disappointed that the identity of the wolf host wasn't addressed in the end. The English parts were very cute to listen to, but did make the acting less believable to me sometimes. That being said, this isn't my usual kind of show so watching it was a bit of a long shot to begin with. Some things that got me: I felt very sad about then tragedy of Ben's death in the last ep. Also. I started liking the soundtrack quite a lot after some episodes. :)
I've done watching EP 9. I don't quite get why some in the earlier comment mentioned how some people found this…
I liked the ep for many reasons, but one sub plot line that I thought wasn't the strongest was the "we have to find prove that Pat didn't bring the the gun" thing bc: - people are "innocent until proven guilt", aren't they? - the solution for the "only cameras inside" problem was a bit too obvious, for my taste. (But to their credit: It was then very quickly resolved.) - since they played in an official match against the bad guy, shouldn't it be kinda easy to get his contact and prove that his fingerprints are also on the gun? Honestly though, not every tiny sub plot has to be perfect to make a great show, and other people probably perceived this quite differently, so. :)
I enjoyed this drama. I liked the extremely dramatic / tragic setting with all the heartache. I do think Mook deserved a way better apology from Kim an the end.
In case some of you want a little more background and haven't seen it, I'm just reposting the link to the (English) interview that LoveCast The BL Podcast did with BamBam, the author of the novel that Cutie Pie The Series is based on.
