I also wanted to say that I was super happy to see Ou-Wen explain some of the parents challenges with a gay child. I thought it was very realistic and well done, and I feel BL shows often lack consideration of their point-of-view.
Hi everyone, I also wanted to comment on the "I only like you, no other guys" issue. I take it as someone being pansexual with strong heterosexual tendencies which does happen. BUT the representation of this in BL is way too high while the representation of gay and bi is comparatively very low. In Mark's case, he's still confused so maybe after more consideration he'll find that he is bi.
Do you find uncut fully subbed of this series? Because in GcInee, I think it's cut version and I felt it is not…
No, they are different series. Toy and Pond are main cast in both, but in Freshy only Pond's character is gay and in love with Toy's character, but they don't get together (Toy's character is straight). Freshy is a sitcom.
I find the series interesting and entertaining, so far. :) I also think it's refreshing that it deals with bedroom insecurities. But I was kinda confused bc I thought they already solved the "I want to have seggs, but does he want it, too, or will he think baldy of me?" problem at the end of ep 1? Leo said, "This kind of thing, you just have to tell me," but in ep 2 neither of them take that advice... ^^° Well, I guess it depends on mood and stuff. They'll get there. ^^
General thoughts: - Like many others, I am such a big fan of the HIStory franchise in general, and even though I always thought HIStory: My Hero's plot was super weird bc we barely got to see Si Ren and instead mainly saw Ying Xiong with his ex gf in Si Ren's body, I was just extremely happy to see Aaron taking on another role in BL. <3 - I really loved the main CP, Shi Lei and Yu Zhen! Some of their actions appeared extremely weird to me, in any other context than explicitly hitting on the other, so that was definitely odd (like Yu Zhen coming down from the bed and hugging Yu Zhen to sleep the first night Shi Lei's mum stayed with them). xD BUT both their characters are high-key lovely, and I always felt and cheered for them!! - I personally had trouble getting on board the second ship. Si Qi is the cutest, most darling boy, but somehow he felt too young and naive to me. In the beginning, I misunderstood that he's still in school. ^^° Zhao Gang was actually a fine character, judging from his actions, but he somehow gave me the impression (like just a vibe) that he didn't really care about anything. I guess he was too laid back for me. xD And also, again, I FELT like there was a big age difference, even though that was just in my head (the actors are only 3.5 years apart). - I also thought the 2nd CPs suuuuuper quick escalation into marriage was strange. ^^° - Mr. Ex, Yi Zi Tong, gave me creep vibes BIG time. I really hope to see this actor again in a more likeable role! - Also, I'm afraid the only thing the story really, really gained from the whole "ex-showes-up" plot line, imo, was the Little Prince analogy (which I REALLY loved!!!). Other than that, it felt like it mostly (maybe a bit unnecessarily?) derailed the main plot unfolding, tbh... - I did like that with Xiao Qian we once again got a friendly non-fujoshi female character. I feel they tend to be underrepresented in BL. Liked Xiao Qian's character overall. :) - Aand I really liked that we actually got to see some of their work projects. I found it funny how HIStory4: Close to you and We Best Love: Fighting Mr. 2nd were set in a work environment but showed practically none of their actual work.
Post ep12 thoughts. - Min 19 was one of those moments were I really would have preferred a good long talk between the main leads to a bed scene. They left soo many things unspoken. I personally would have to get all of that out of the way before moving to the bedroom, and I think it would have added to the feeling of a resolution to everything that happened until then. (After that please don't let me stop you. ^^) - Wayne's guest appearance was so random but made me sooo happyyy!! <3 <3
Should i watch it? I had so much anticipation for this!!!
I usually find that giving the series a try is the way to go. I've watched some dramas that had soooo many issues, but I still loved them to death. <3 Imo, this drama definitely has quite a few issues, too. But I still found a lot of the characters generally likeable, and it did have quite some strong scenes that will stay with me. :) The last episode was not the strongest, imo. Maybe you'll enjoy it more now that you know what to expect? ^^
Okay, but the Aoey / Saymork / Tiffy part? Come on!!! I'm so upset! :((( You really just use all their screen time to show us that over TWO years nothing has changed at all? Aoey is still making bad choices (and has a crappy life), really cares about Tiffy and doesn't give a crap about Saymork. Saymork still can't get over Aoey - after TWO freaking years with apparently next to no contact!! And Tiffy has (for reasons I still can't reasonably understand) just cancelled Aoey and gets everyone else to stay away from him, too? I wanted to see that things improved for theeem!!!! :(((((
i loved the final episodehowever i am kinda like ??? what was the point of Mork? the way the set things up in…
I have that feeling about many things. In the beginning they kept introducing small pieces of interesting background information building up a lot of potential and I kept waiting for the rest of it or some conclusion, but unfortunately quite a bit of it wasn't properly developed or simply never mentioned again. Mork was one of them. I think they wanted to do too much and couldn't do every storyline justice.
That flower eating is a reference to something. I’ve seen it before, I just can’t remember where. Anyway,…
Sorry, I'm confused. When you say Pond went off to shoot Fish Upon The Sky do you maybe mean Chap (Saymork) who had to shoot Y-Destiny? Pond isn't in this series or am I missing something?
I'm still confused about that, as well. My interpretation is that it shows a light form of self-harm that stems from feeling empty and disconnected. Before that they showed all the presents he got from his fans. He realises that those are all he has, no love from friends, family or a partner. He feels empty and the chocolate doesn't help. He doesn't really care what happens to him and wants to act out, so he eats or at least chews on the flower.
Someone should change Mork's designation from Support to Guest Role, lmao. Are there any teas to spill about the…
I suspect his respective contracts specify where, when and how much he has to promote each series. Since he's a support role (or guest role in disguise ^^) in this one, but a main role in Y-Destiny, the amount of required promotion must have been set accordingly by each contractor.
I also wanted to comment on the "I only like you, no other guys" issue.
