i'd settle for a hug, so long as it hints at/signifies a future of happiness, lasting love, and devotion between the girls. if they seal the deal with a hug and a kiss, i wouldn’t object to the sweet gesture

je i's "father" isn't a nice person. in episode 3, we discovered that he took advantage of his daughters’ competitive spirits to "motivate" them and improve their school performances. and by "motivate," we mean "threaten with bodily harm"

"beat your sister in the quiz, or get beaten by her," he'd say (episode 3, 2:45-3:40). that's not parenting, that's child abuse. the road to academic excellence doesn't have to involve sibling rivalries that border on an intense, winner-takes-all cage match

on top of that, tae jun's actions in episodes 4-8 have raised more than a few red flags. i don't trust him

hye ri (je i) and su bin (seul gi) ignite the screen with their chemistry. the two talented actresses look like they could rule the world together. how magical would it be to see hye ri (je i) and su bin (seul gi) in another gl where their love story is front and center, where woo ri (gyeong) joins in on the journey of being enamored with another woman! but even the gl subplot here makes my cold, jaded heart melt in gratitude. blessed be the gay gods/goddesses, i'll cherish these precious, scarce, moments of gay visibility

gl is a part of the story. the audience can’t be blamed for expecting a more gl-centric content when the drama is dripping with chemistry between the female leads

their relationship has been more than "sisterly" from the start

the poster is a visual representation of homophobia. the forced "straight" storyline that's not present in the source material has been given a seat of privilege and power, sitting atop the gay storyline

gay couples and their storylines are seen as less important or worthy. they're crammed into a tiny corner, playing second fiddle to "straight" storylines to satiate the homophobic masses. my gay sixth-sense tells me our gay couple will get the short end of the screen time stick, with their romantic moments trimmed to the point of near invisibility

we haven't won yet. this homophobic adaptation will be popular, and the entertainment industry will be incentivized to churn out more homophobic adaptations that make a mockery of bl/gay love

"chasing the light" will be marketed as a "bromance" due to homophobic censorship, but fans of the bl genre know how to read between the lines and find the subtext that hints at a deeper, more romantic connection. we have witnessed this in the previous popular dramas, "the untamed" and "word of honor"

that's a logical adjustment to demographic shifts. society's obsession with growth has blinded it to the benefits of a smaller population: less competition for jobs and resources, a higher standard of living

childless people hold the key to deciding the fate of a species. humanity has failed to meet my standards, and i'm responding with a vote for extinction (that's out of the norm)

in the absence of humans, there'd be no need for internet-based socialization and interaction. having children generates problems, demands, and complications. i'm not grateful for the partial alleviation of problems humanity created for itself

some women today enjoy a greater degree of education and independence than in the past; however, they don't have complete autonomy over their reproductive "choices." media, societal norms, governments, and religious institutions herd the masses toward the "straight" path of child-rearing. society wants an abundance of cookie-cutter minions to sustain its machinery and occupy every nook and cranny of the overflowing world. and it gleefully counts them up. a rare, courageous few dare defy society and not give it what it wants

"pregnancy" is a 9-month process of vomiting, swelling, and discomfort, culminating in the most traumatic experience one can endure. it's a curse, to me and the woman who brought me into the world. her "life" became a nightmare of sleepless nights, dirty diapers, and temper tantrums. my "life" became/has become a perpetual nightmare of despair and hopelessness

"This is a thriller that pursues the mysterious truth behind what saved humanity from an apocalypse"

if it were me, i'd have no interest in playing "hero" and postponing the apocalypse. i'd let humanity and the world go up in flames

should this make it to screens, i’ll be counting on the internet’s editing wizards to spare us the hassle of skipping the forced "straight" parts and edit it into the watchable gay experience it was meant to be

something tells me this is going to be less of an adaptation and more of a vague, underwhelming memory of the source material

the hypocritical "fans" you mentioned have missed the memo that genuine support requires more than applauding the performance. it means applauding the real people behind it and standing by them if they come out and reveal their true selves

the best we can do is point out the hypocrisy in their actions, and hope that they reconsider

how much more pain should be put on display before minds are changed? for decades, hyperrealistic "queer" stories have bled on screen—philadelphia (1993), brokeback mountain (2005), moonlight (2016)—yet the ghosts of prejudice and homophobic laws are unshaken. if hyperrealism alone had the power to set us free, we would've been free by now. and we aren't

people know they're hurting us. they don't care. a story about gay pain won't sway them

gay love, in its most freeing form, deserves to be celebrated by everyone, man or woman
